Chapter 853 - 854 Busy

Chapter 853: 854 Busy

"It really dares to go for it..."

Feng Yuan sighed as he gazed at the distant glacier, the blizzard here having transformed into light snow that fluttered down. The far-off crystal-clear glacier reflected the sunlight, making it dazzling.

White Wolf slowly approached the glacier. A gust of cold wind blew, causing Feng Yuan to shrink his neck and look around,

"It seems hopeless, this glacier is solidly frozen. Without Legendary Level strength, it won’t be possible to break through."

Xiao Ji flew past Feng Yuan, seemingly dissatisfied with his words, abruptly soared upwards before diving down. A blue-flame eagle sharply descended towards the glacier, and just before hitting, Xiao Ji swiftly climbed higher. The flame eagle maintained its form as it crashed into the glacier.

Watching chunks of ice splatter across the sky, Feng Yuan somewhat speechlessly glanced at the hovering Xiao Ji; its ultimate move merely managed to create a small hole. Feng Yuan could even see the seawater inside the hole begin to freeze over, and soon the hole closed up again.

"Let’s just go back, it’s hopeless."

Feng Yuan glanced at the massive glacier and spoke to Agunas. Just then, a little girl jumped off the White Wolf and ran toward the glacier. Seeing this, Feng Yuan, a bit headache-ridden, rode the White Wolf to catch up, as the girl seemed to find the glacier amusing, occasionally hiding behind the towering ice pillars, peeking at Feng Yuan, then ducking back.

"Really..."

Feng Yuan wryly smiled somewhat helplessly, thought for a moment, and then dismounted White Wolf to follow the little girl, running randomly across the glacier.

"Be careful!"

Professor Yan caught the log that the little girl was holding and said somewhat helplessly. It was nothing for an adult, but somewhat too heavy for the little girl. Furthermore, he couldn’t understand why the girl didn’t let the baby bear help; he had already noticed the baby bear secretly sizing up the group from behind the house along with the mysterious doll upon its head.

Placing the log on the ground, Professor Yan reluctantly told the girl,

"You don’t need to help; you can’t help much either."

The little girl looked at Professor Yan with a puzzled expression then suddenly flashed a cheerful smile. Gladys, along with her Spirit Beast, passed by and glanced at the girl commanding her Traveler Bear, Mogu, to effortlessly lift the log onto its shoulder.

Seeing Mogu carrying the log away, the little girl puffed her cheeks in a somewhat angry manner and stomped her feet before running back. Gladys looked at the structure taking shape in front of them, a greenhouse growing gradually, and exclaimed in amazement,

"Your student really is talented; she even knows the City Defense System."

Professor Yan smiled wryly and responded,

"I know Dou Yanlan’s family situation. If it weren’t for necessity, she probably wouldn’t delve into studying so many things."

Gladys spoke pointedly as her gaze swept over the corner by the wooden hut, where the little girl was talking to the baby bear,

"Right, no one to help; she can only depend on herself. What else could she do?"

"It’s not here; the stone post is over there."

Dou Yanlan, covering her forehead somewhat helplessly, said to an innocently looking Qi Chen, who scratched his head with an embarrassed look. He realized he might have remembered wrong again? Ah Mu glanced at Qi Chen and directly carried the stone post toward the corner Dou Yanlan had pointed out. It was supposed to be put there, yet Qi Chen insisted otherwise.

"Strange, Feng Yuan has been gone for so long; is the seaside that far?"

Dou Yanlan looked at the sky somewhat puzzled. Although the blizzard was still falling, the sky had already begun to dim, and the sunset wasn’t far.

"Shouldn’t be any danger, I hope."

Remembering that Agunas was also with Feng Yuan, Dou Yanlan shook her head. Rather than worrying about that guy, she might as well figure out how to set up the greenhouse. Although she had read some material about the transitions in the City Defense System before coming here, there were still some details to be sorted out.

After thinking, she took Cotton to find Professor Yan, thinking some aspects might still need to be altered.

"Is this... for me?"

Teacher Yan looked at the little girl holding out the small bowl with some surprise. She was holding it with both hands, eager for recognition, and Gladys walked up to Teacher Yan and saw that he was somewhat reluctant to accept it.

"Take it, how can you reject such a kind gesture?"

"But..."

The little girl, seeing that Teacher Yan wasn’t taking it, immediately worried that she might have not done a good job? Seeing the girl’s expression changing, Teacher Yan hastily took the bowl from her and said something, looking at the Baby Bear following behind the little girl, Gladys could guess that the mysterious doll had been placed in her home without asking.

Seeing the Baby Bear following the little girl didn’t surprise the people of Mordan. After all, the Mordan region was quite special, and spirit beasts often voluntarily sought out the partner they preferred. Thus, unlike other regions, children often had their own spirit beast partners, it was just that they couldn’t sign a Spirit Beast and Taming Beast Contract.

The little girl, seeing that Teacher Yan was tasting the food she had specially prepared, quickly directed the Baby Bear to pick up bunches of flax fabric that Xiao Tong had placed on the ground. Seeing the Baby Bear’s ears pressed tightly against its head by the bundles of fabric, Gladys found it amusing for no reason.

The little girl provocatively looked at Mogu behind Gladys, directing the Baby Bear to follow her towards a corner. Gladys waited until she had walked a bit before, struggling to hold back her laughter, she pointed in another direction. Seeing the other puff up her face and glare at her, Gladys found it amusing.

Seeing that Teacher Yan had finished eating, the little girl picked up the bowl from the ground, said something to the Baby Bear, and turned to run back home with the bowl. Watching the Baby Bear that was following him, Teacher Yan said with a bit of a headache,

"Why is this little thing following me?"

Xiao Tong waved his hand, and the rolls of flax fabric just floated up. Big Black stood outside the construction site, keeping an eye on the perimeter to prevent any dangerous things from approaching. Although Big Black could carry much more than Xiao Tong, the problem was its size; therefore, there wasn’t much room for it to maneuver in such narrow spaces.

Seeing the Baby Bear persistently carrying a wooden pillar, Teacher Yan shook his head helplessly. Since it wanted to do that, he could only let it be.

When Gladys passed by Teacher Yan, she glanced at the Baby Bear and said to Teacher Yan,

"You don’t seem very pleased with that little helper?"

"It just seems unnecessary."

Teacher Yan shook his head, saying that indeed, the small amount of material that Baby Bear was carrying could be easily handled by Xiao Tong with just one trip, and Xiao Tong could use telekinesis to carry those things, which made him much more flexible than Baby Bear.

"After all, it’s the thought that counts, right?"

Gladys smiled and spoke.

("Alright, it’s time to head back.")

Hearing the distant sound of an elephant’s roar, Feng Yuan called out to the little girl. Hearing Feng Yuan’s shout, the little girl reluctantly glanced back at the glacier and followed Feng Yuan towards the White Wolf, who then lifted the little girl onto its back. Feng Yuan, with a mysterious smile, said,

("Let’s try something interesting~")

"What are you thinking of doing now?"

Agunas, somewhat speechless, flicked its tail. It realized that Feng Yuan always seemed to stir up some weird things. Riding on the White Wolf, Feng Yuan directed it towards the direction of the elephant’s roar. Agunas, seemingly understanding something, said somewhat speechlessly,

"Aren’t you worried about Xiao Ji making a move?"

Ice pillars shot up behind them, piercing through the snow straight into the sky. The White Wolf swiftly weaved through the ice pillars. The fierce wind blew, and the ice and snow harshly struck them. Behind the ice pillars were the angry Ice Snow Giants. Did this suddenly appearing White Wolf actually dare to provoke them?

High above, Xiao Ji watched the White Wolf below, ready to act at any moment. Agunas, invisible, sat atop the White Wolf’s head. Even though the chase seemed thrilling, both Feng Yuan and Agunas knew that these Ice Snow Giants really had no way to handle Feng Yuan.

"You’re always up to mischief."

Looking at the little girl curled up into a ball, Agunas said somewhat speechlessly. Feng Yuan’s actions had clearly frightened her. Feng Yuan, proud of himself, said,

"That’s what makes it thrilling~ And now she won’t think about coming out with me anymore~"

"You rascal..."
