Chapter 846: Chapter 847: Searching for Someone and Getting Lost

"Yes, it’s her."

The little girl looked at Feng Yuan with pitiful eyes, fearing he might change his mind. After glancing at Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan, Feng Yuan spoke,

"Then I will go first. In this kind of weather, if we don’t hurry to find her, there might be danger."

Saying this, Feng Yuan turned around, taking Xiao Ji and the others into the midst of the snowstorm. Only then did Qi Chen react; he didn’t understand what Feng Yuan had asked the little girl just now. He knew the meaning, yet it seemed he couldn’t comprehend those words.

"Divine language?"

Dou Yanlan murmured thoughtfully. This special language was not something extraordinary, but mastering it required both talent and ability. Not to mention ordinary people, even within the Alliance, not many could manage it. However, if it were Feng Yuan, it shouldn’t be surprising that he could.

Gladys glanced at the elderly woman and then at the little girl holding a teddy bear, pulling her hood as she said,

"I’ll go help look for them."

"Be... Be careful, pay attention to your safety."

Gladys smiled at Dou Yanlan and quickly dashed into the snowstorm. Qi Chen, somewhat puzzled, asked,

"Aren’t we keeping her here? Now that it’s just the two of us, there doesn’t seem to be any place where we can help."

Dou Yanlan glanced at Qi Chen and said,

"I recently went through the history of city defense system development; it’s not like there’s nothing we can help with."

"You... you can’t possibly be capable of setting up a city defense system alone, can you?"

Qi Chen looked at Dou Yanlan in astonishment. Dou Yanlan, annoyed, glanced at Qi Chen and retorted,

"Of course not. I’m not Feng Yuan. That guy might be capable of such a feat, but using some design concepts of the city defense system to temporarily create an area unaffected by the snowstorm should still be possible."

"But first, we need to figure out what materials can be used."

Dou Yanlan said, looking at the elderly woman.

"Really... so how did you get separated from Teacher Yan..."

Feng Yuan said, massaging his forehead, somewhat exasperated. Chen Xin, somewhat embarrassed, glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

"There was a little accident earlier. A herd of Ice Snow Giants suddenly appeared, so..."

"Right! You should hurry in that direction! I’m afraid Teacher Yan might encounter danger."

Feng Yuan looked at Chen Xin in surprise and said,

"Did he really manage to lure those Ice Snow Giants away by himself?"

Chen Xin nodded without speaking; she was feeling quite uncomfortable from the cold at this moment. The raging snowstorm was getting worse, and her clothes were no longer able to ward off the storm’s unique power.

"Ah, you..."

Feng Yuan, in a resigned manner, took off his own coat and draped it over Chen Xin, saying,

"Come with me. This way, I probably won’t have to look for you later."

"Is that... alright with you?"

Chen Xin, looking surprised at Feng Yuan, now only in his under-robe—because the ritual robe’s undergarment was designed to be worn alone in hot weather and looked somewhat flimsy—shrugged his shoulders, unconcerned, and said,

"It’s fine. At least it offers some protection against ultimate moves, can you walk?"

Feng Yuan reached his hand out to Chen Xin, and after looking at Feng Yuan, Chen Xin smiled and grabbed Feng Yuan’s hand to stand up. He tugged at the Ritual Robe draped over his body and whispered,

"Teacher Yan might be in that direction."

"Then let’s go."

Feng Yuan immediately ran in the direction Chen Xin had indicated. After a short distance, he looked back to see if Chen Xin was keeping up. Xiao Ji flew in the air, trying to check the surroundings, but the raging blizzard was intensifying, and his visibility was dwindling. Even for Agunas, the sensed range was gradually shrinking. Seeing this, Agunas frowned, a sign that this was not a good omen.

"Isn’t anyone going to do something about Veludante? If this continues, all of Mordan will be doomed."

Feng Yuan said with a headache, and although Mordan had no problems in the originally destined future, his intervention now made the future unpredictable. Agunas flicked his tail and said,

"The Mordan Region is quite small, and it’s a bit strange with only one Divine Beast, Veludante. It’s not quite normal."

Ordinarily, each region is about the same size. Even places like the Pando Archipelago, though not particularly large in terms of land and islands, are surrounded by a vast area of safe waters, not the Starlit Sea. That’s why there has always been a big controversy about whether Divine Land and the Omeilia Region should be regarded as one region.

If the Starlit Sea is used as the divider, then the range of the Pando Archipelago is almost as large as the normal regions. Due to the Black Sea, Divine Land and Omeilia would have twice the size of a normal region if considered as one, but they are connected if not considered together.

The Mordan Region is even stranger. Other regions have at least one Guardian Divine Beast, but the Mordan Region not only has a small size but also lacks a Guardian Divine Beast. No matter how rowdy Veludante now seems, its power is only on par with the Vermilion Birds, while Guardian Divine Beasts are always at least on the level of Emperor Savidi.

"This... So, won’t other region’s Divine Beasts come over to handle it?"

Feng Yuan said somewhat speechlessly, with just Veludante here, how could there not be trouble? Why do other regions have so many other Divine Beasts besides the Guardian Divine Beast? That’s to prevent the Guardian Divine Beasts from causing disorderly conduct due to some accidents.

"Unclear, because I don’t exist at this point in time, it’s not appropriate for me to communicate too much with them."

Agunas said uncertainly, and Feng Yuan said somewhat helplessly,

"So, who stopped Veludante according to the original historical trajectory?"

"It might have stopped by itself, not sure."

Agunas guessed, and Chen Xin looking forward in the blizzard where Feng Yuan was dressed only in thin clothes whispered,

"So, can we..."

"No, you going there to stop it is okay, but I absolutely cannot show up."

Feng Yuan decisively negated Chen Xin’s unspoken words, when suddenly Xiao Ji let out a loud eagle’s cry and flapped its wings, sending gray wind blades charging into the vast white snowstorm. Angry roars of elephants rose, and without Agunas needing to explain, the two understood they had encountered a herd of Ice Snow Giants.

"Tsk! Really troublesome."

Feng Yuan stepped in front of Chen Xin, pulled out a black-handled sickle from the ancient dark book, and swung it vigorously towards the snow-covered ground. Several black statues burst out of the snow, charging into the blizzard and attacking the herd of Ice Snow Giants.

"This..."

Agunas didn’t know how to comment on Feng Yuan’s action, that was a bit too drastic. Seeing Feng Yuan’s grand motions, Xiao Ji in the sky, ready to show off, suddenly felt a bit unsatisfied and let out a long cry. A scarlet flame cut through the sky, opening a massive rift, and behind the black rift, meteors burning with deep blue flames headed towards where the Ice Snow Giants were located.

Despite sensing the danger, the Ice Snow Giants, having their sight and sensing range blocked by the blizzard, failed to detect the threat from the sky.

"Huff... Huff... Chen Xin... should be fine..."

Breathing heavily, Teacher Yan looked back; other than the constant howling winds, the white world had nothing else, Black Turtle holding the Rune Stone Barrier was closely following Teacher Yan. Seeing Teacher Yan so fatigued, Black Turtle felt somewhat guilt-ridden for not having evolved, as at this moment, neither its mobility nor its size was sufficient to act as a mount or carry Teacher Yan forward.

In fact, due to its slow movement speed, it was the Meditating Child that had been lifting it using telekinesis. Myriad Sound Parrot kept humming beautiful songs, allowing Teacher Yan and the other Spirit Beasts to speed up their recovery.

"It seems we have shaken them off."

Teacher Yan chuckled looking at his companions. If it weren’t for letting Chen Xin get away first, he wouldn’t have been so ragged. But in order to let Chen Xin escape first, he had tangled with those Ice Snow Giants for a while, fortunately, Meditating Child and Black Turtle were adept in defense, otherwise, it would have been really troublesome with the increasing numbers of Ice Snow Giants whose ultimate moves were unavoidable, spanning attacks both from the sky and the ground.

"What’s that?"

Teacher Yan seemed to have noticed something and was a bit surprised.
