Divine Beast Creator -
Chapter 802 - 803: Entry
Chapter 802: Chapter 803: Entry
"It’s not really like that; it just so happens that in this world, it’s the only one left with authority."
Feng Yuan thought for a moment and said. To ensure stability, authority is generally not concentrated in the hands of one being. This world happens to be in such a condition because it was abandoned, leading to a Divine Beast having sole authority.
"So, searching such a vast area for a Divine Beast seems a bit... difficult."
Gitalien scratched his head and said. It had tried, but the Divine Beast information network is inaccessible here; it’s fair to say that almost all familiar means of communication they knew of were unusuable. In such circumstances, finding the target quickly doesn’t seem so easy.
"Pretty much, it’s all down to luck now."
Feng Yuan shrugged helplessly and said, actually, if it weren’t for the inability to connect the reality of this place with the outside, they could simply ask the Alliance or Great Xia to send people to handle this slowly later.
"It seems we’ve caught up~"
Gladys walked over, twisting her waist with a smile, and upon looking at her, Feng Yuan said with some surprise,
"You’re so sure we’ll bring you along."
"Almost~ Could there be another answer?"
Feng Yuan sighed helplessly and said,
"No."
With Gladys’s strange prophetic abilities, she might play a special role in this operation, so naturally, Feng Yuan wouldn’t refuse her joining.
"Let’s set off~"
Seeing that everyone had finished their lunch, Feng Yuan looked at Agunas and said. Agunas looked at Feng Yuan with some irritation and said,
"I can’t find the entry point, you lead the way."
"You can’t sense it?"
Feng Yuan asked with some doubt. Gitalien looked at the sky and said,
"That barrier still exists; it separates Lake Bai Dao from the interior of the Ancient Ruins. The barrier is quite special; he probably can’t sense it."
"I see."
Handing the pitch-black Ancient Book to Agunas, Feng Yuan asked,
"Can you open the passage then?"
"Yes."
Gitalien didn’t ask why Feng Yuan didn’t do it himself; with his current power level, he really couldn’t directly open the passage through the barrier unless it was forcefully broken. But doing so, no one knew what would happen. It was better to maintain the status quo, at least Lake Bai Dao was still relatively safe.
"Stop for a moment."
On the warship of Nether Cross, Gitalien motioned for Agunas to halt the warship and then, with a sharp wave of his hand, a claw mark appeared out of nowhere. A space gate with its edges constantly twisting appeared in the air, opened by the claw mark. Li Xiaowei looked at Gitalien with some confusion; normal humans certainly couldn’t wield such powerful force.
Could the other party be an experimental subject of the G Organization? Li Xiaowei wondered but felt something was amiss. Although she was privy to many secrets the common public couldn’t know, the human form of Gitalien was not something she had access to.
Gladys looked at Gitalien with an unfathomable expression, comparing the figure before her with images in her memory, then shook her head and whispered,
"It seems not."
"Could it be you?"
Looking at Feng Yuan’s back, Gladys muttered to herself. But whether it was height or build, both were much too different; Feng Yuan himself was not very tall and even seemed a bit frail. Although his weapons were quite peculiar—heavier and bigger than one another—they didn’t belong to a burly man.
Sensing someone observing him, Feng Yuan looked around with some puzzlement. He saw Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan talking about something, Li Xiaowei silently observing their surroundings as if considering something, and Gladys with her eyes closed, holding a deck of cards in her hand, muttering as if divining something?
"An illusion?"
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan looked at the space gate ahead with some confusion. At this moment, under Agunas’s control, the warship plunged into the space gate.
"Why didn’t you stop them! Since they know how to enter the Ancient Ruins, why didn’t you ask how to get in?!"
In the temporary command center, the officer responsible for coordinating the defense team bellowed in anger—they were completely baffled by the catalyst of the anomaly. Although, after exchanging information with the Special Duty Team, they confirmed that someone had activated the Ancient Ruins and caused the current situation, they had no idea how to enter the Ancient Ruins.
Digging? Don’t joke, although the energy response was indeed beneath Lake Bai Dao, it was already researched by scholars that this response was merely a projection of the Ancient Ruins. The real Ancient Ruins were not there at all, and might not even be in the current space.
"At that time, I didn’t think too much, as long as their identities checked out I just..."
The guard, responsible for questioning who had initiated the Nether Cross, spoke with a hint of grievance. They were busy arranging the settlement of the people who had gathered, and hadn’t given much thought to the Ancient Ruins. Now, wanting to send someone there, they realized they didn’t even know where it was or how to get in.
"Report, the Ghost Ship has appeared again!"
"Where?"
"Spring Valley District, but it has already disappeared into the air, don’t know where it went."
"The air..."
Hearing this, the commander fell into contemplation. If they wanted to leave Yongzhen Island, obviously there wasn’t a need to go into the air, so did that imply the entrance to the Ancient Ruins was up there?
But if that was the case, how did that group of relic hunters get in? He distinctly remembered that when the anomaly occurred, there were no special forces in the sky.
As for just passing through? That’s nonsense. There were countless Spirit Beasts flying in the sky every day. If it were that easy, the entrance to the Ancient Ruins would’ve been discovered long ago.
"It’s so cold... Why did you choose this place..."
Because the competition for Lake’s Brave Ones was set in early April, everyone was dressed in relatively light spring clothing. Suddenly finding themselves in a snowy mountain environment, it was already quite fortunate they hadn’t fallen sick. Feng Yuan shivered and complained to Agunas.
Agunas, returning the Ancient Book to Feng Yuan, rolled his eyes and said,
"This is the closest island. There are special energy flows in the void, maintaining Nether Cross consumes a lot of power."
In these Ancient Ruins, the entire space was a boundless starry sky, with islands scattered among the stars and rivers of light flowing between them. These islands were randomly distributed in all directions, and the orientation of each island’s top was different. Even Gitalien couldn’t discern where the sky was in this space.
As soon as he entered the interior of the Ancient Ruins, Agunas found that the power of the Nether Cross was depleting unusually quickly. To avoid any accidents with Qi Chen and the others in the void, Agunas opened the Nether Cross to the nearest island.
Transforming into Little Husky, Feng Yuan ran over to Ah Mu and curled up, saying,
"It’s too cold..."
Cotton nuzzled Dou Yanlan, trying to use its body to warm her up. Gitalien, who had swapped into a cotton coat, asked with some confusion,
"Didn’t you bring any change of clothes?"
"Who would bring out winter clothes in April?"
Little Husky grumbled from atop Ah Mu’s head. Xiao Ji gave the shivering Little Husky a sad look, and Agunas thought for a moment and said,
"How about I use Nether Cross right now to take you to the neighboring island?"
"That’ll work."
"No need."
Little Husky puzzledly glanced at Gitalien, who waved his hand and a spatial Barrier enveloped everyone. The temperature inside the Barrier swiftly rose. Gitalien glanced at Little Husky and asked,
"Will that do?"
Reverting back to human form, Feng Yuan, hugging Xiao Ji, said,
"Barely~"
Although the temperature had risen, compared to the outside atmosphere, it was still on the cooler side, but it wasn’t as bitterly cold anymore. Li Xiaowei said, feeling a tad embarrassed,
"I forgot that Barriers could be used like that..."
She, unlike Qi Chen and the others, was an outdoor adventure vlogger. Such practical outdoor skills were well known to her. Gladys, wrapped in a thick robe, glanced around and queried,
"Will there be traces of it here?"
"I don’t know, maybe? Anyway, we just have to search one by one. I hope it doesn’t play hide and seek with us."
Feng Yuan said with a hint of a headache. The most troublesome part was exactly this. They were searching, yes, but the other party might also be running around randomly. Bad luck could mean they would just keep circling around the islands without ever encountering each other.
