Chapter 755: Chapter 756 Abnormal_1

"Give it back~"

Feng Yuan reached out to snatch back the small Dark Ancient Book that Agunas had taken, but Agunas floated too high, and merely reaching out, Feng Yuan couldn’t possibly touch him.

"You didn’t take this thing just to scare off the staff, did you?"

Holding the small Dark Ancient Book, Agunas said speechlessly. Although this thing was not as powerful as the original, it was still enough to scare ghosts.

"No way, I just wanted it for self-defense."

"Self-defense?"

Qi Chen looked Feng Yuan over skeptically. Seizing the moment when Agunas was distracted, Feng Yuan jumped up to snatch back the small Dark Ancient Book and said,

"Yeah, when they suddenly appear, you just have to raise this thing in front of you, and then..."

"They get scared off? You really have a wicked sense of humor."

Agunas looked at Feng Yuan with contempt; this guy obviously just wanted to scare ghosts in the Ghost House for fun.

"It’s because I was scared..."

Feng Yuan said while hugging Xiao Ji beside him with a frightened look. Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan with disdain and said helplessly,

"That won’t look good for Chen Xin."

"I know..."

Feng Yuan put away the small Dark Ancient Book, a bit dissatisfied. As a copy, it wasn’t tough to stow away; it was just like the Dark Ancient Book itself, which could be stored in a special space without needing any ability.

"Are you coming with us tomorrow?"

Feng Yuan asked the Little Green Snake. Unlike Xiao Ji, the Little Green Snake wasn’t very attached to Feng Yuan. After acquiring the authority of a Divine Beast, the Little Green Snake had been busy trying to evolve. After a moment of thought, the Little Green Snake nodded.

"You really don’t want to go, huh~"

"No, that’s not it!"

Feng Yuan suddenly realized that the Little Green Snake had apparently agreed. Looking at it in disbelief, Feng Yuan asked,

"Are you interested in this kind of thing too?"

He wouldn’t think that the Little Green Snake was like Xiao Ji, unwilling to leave his side for too long; the snake had been hiding in the dorm every day trying to evolve.

The Little Green Snake shook its head, hissing. Although it was much older than Xiao Ji, because it didn’t interact much with humans, it hadn’t learned to speak.

"It says it has a bad premonition," Agunas said with a disturbed expression, listening to the Little Green Snake. Although the Little Green Snake’s current strength wasn’t great, like Xiao Ji, it was also a reserve for Divine Beasts, and such premonitions often had a reason.

"What about your feeling?"

Feng Yuan looked at Agunas. If it came to sensing danger, Agunas was obviously stronger than the Little Green Snake. Xiao Ji thought for a moment and voiced its opinion before Agunas could speak.

"I don’t feel anything. Xiao Ji says it seems like something has changed somewhere, but it doesn’t know exactly where the change is from, and..."

Glancing at Xiao Ji, seeing the affirmation in its nod, Agunas said hesitantly,

"It feels... like there’s no danger."

"No danger?"

Upon hearing Agunas’s words, Feng Yuan paused before saying,

"Then why not ask Lorraine Tower or Gitalien for help? With them around, safety is assured."

Nodding, Agunas replied,

"Okay, I’ll get them now."

After all, the presence that Agunas had left here was just an avatar. Although it could handle most problems, it naturally wasn’t as effective as Lorraine Tower and Gitalien themselves.

Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan with some concern and asked,

"Are you sure it’s okay?"

"It should be fine. Since Xiao Ji isn’t sensing danger, it’s probably just a minor trouble."

Feng Yuan said, not entirely sure. Although Xiao Ji was only at the Good Level form with Common Level strength for now, strictly speaking, Xiao Ji, having mastered the Crimson Judgement, actually had stronger combat power than the Little Green Snake; at least Xiao Ji should be at the Elite Level, while the Little Green Snake, even with the boost of potential from being a Divine Beast, only had Good Level battle strength.

But considering that most of his classmates were also around Good Level in combat, Feng Yuan wasn’t sure about the danger. However, the newly reopened Ghost House was accessible to Beastmasters below Legendary Level, and they must have at least Legendary Level Spirit Beasts in residence. It seemed unlikely that anything untoward would happen.

"They seem to be busy with something."

A moment later, Agunas spoke with resignation. Lying on the bed, Feng Yuan reached out to scratch Xiao Ji’s neck and said,

"Then it’s up to you~"

"But... I can’t find the time to switch with my true self right now."

Agunas spoke hesitantly, while Feng Yuan yawned and said,

"Then just split up, no big deal, otherwise you wouldn’t have any sense of crisis? It’s not like those outsiders."

"How would you know?"

Glancing at the Little Green Snake, Feng Yuan asked,

"Do you think the Little Green Snake can sense threats from outsiders?"

The Little Green Snake raised its head to look at Feng Yuan and shook its head. Although it didn’t know what outsiders were, it was clear that it had no special crisis sensing abilities, and what it detected was merely something amiss, not danger.

"This... seems unlikely..."

With the Little Green Snake’s strength out in the open, even with special bonuses, it wouldn’t be more sensitive than Agunas or the like. After thinking it over, Feng Yuan said,

"Should I call Delong Tower over? It should be available now, right?"

"It’s busy watching over Odinis. Coming to fight earlier was already a risk. Are you sure you want to trouble it over such a minor matter?"

Agunas said disdainfully after glancing at Feng Yuan.

"I see, then let’s drop it. Honestly, if you’re really worried you could talk to Captain Yang and the others, though I reckon there’s a greater chance you’re just overreacting," Feng Yuan said indifferently. Agunas thought for a moment and then extended a paw toward Feng Yuan, requesting,

"Lend me your phone."

"You’re actually going to call?"

Feng Yuan said, surprised, as he placed his own phone in Agunas’s small paw. Glancing at Feng Yuan, Agunas said irritably,

"What else? I’m still somewhat uneasy."

"Tsch!"

"What’s up?"

Seeing the troubled expression on Agunas’s face, Feng Yuan was puzzled. As Agunas handed back the phone, he said,

"Wu Feng and the Fire Vermilion Bird are tied up dealing with an unusual event in Featherwood City. Currently, several cities across Great Xia are experiencing unusual events. Captain Yang said we should stay alert and report any abnormalities to the local special service team."

"Is that so... If he said that, then it should mean there isn’t much danger."

"It won’t turn into a situation like the Emerald Ruins, will it?"

Qi Chen asked, his nerves taut. After thinking it over, Feng Yuan shook his head,

"It shouldn’t. The Emerald Ruins were a special case. That renovated haunted house didn’t have anything similar to the special artifacts found there. Theoretically, it shouldn’t cause the same issues as the Emerald Ruins."

"Theoretically?"

"Yeah, unless someone from E Hua Temple decides to cause trouble, which I doubt she would."

"You really haven’t noticed anything?"

Agunas looked at Feng Yuan doubtfully. If there were unusual occurrences all over Great Xia, it meant those causing the disturbances were not weak—it didn’t make sense that Feng Yuan failed to notice anything.

Shrugging helplessly, Feng Yuan said,

"How should I know? Maybe it’s a coincidence? Or perhaps it’s just underlings causing trouble?"

"If the disturbance is too small, I might not notice it, given the myriad of unusual events in this world."

Although Agunas was still worried, neither he nor Feng Yuan had detected anything untoward, so all they could do was prepare. Having overheard the conversation between Feng Yuan and Agunas, Qi Chen quietly mentioned the situation to Dou Yanlan.

Though Feng Yuan had said it wasn’t a big deal, Qi Chen felt that having Dou Yanlan’s help could minimize trouble in case they encountered any unforeseen circumstances.

"Such a huge backpack?"

Feng Yuan asked, surprised as he looked at the large backpack on Dou Yanlan’s back. Qi Chen also had a large travel pack on his back, which puzzled the others since everyone had spatial equipment, and small bags were sufficient for daily use. Normally, the large travel packs were used only for wilderness expeditions.

After all, preparations for such trips needed more space than small bags could offer, hence the large travel backpacks.

Dou Yanlan said calmly, looking at Feng Yuan,

"Better to be safe than sorry."

Scowling at Qi Chen, Feng Yuan complained,

"Did you spread the word irresponsibly?"

"I only told Yanlan, after all, I wasn’t sure if we should make preparations."

Qi Chen said, somewhat sheepishly, to which Feng Yuan replied with a shake of his head,

"Whatever suits you..."
