Chapter 726: Chapter 727 Aftermath_1
"The interference of the Dream Domain in reality, coupled with a small coincidence, led to such a result~"
Feng Yuan said complacently. Agunas looked at Feng Yuan in astonishment and said,
"You can actually wield power?"
"It’s nothing like that, it’s more like I took advantage of Lu’s power; otherwise, why didn’t it see through it?"
"Lu... no wonder."
The thing that had puzzled Agunas the most was Emperor Savidi’s attitude. It made no sense that the Emperor wouldn’t know who was manipulating the Dream Domain, but if it involved Lu’s power, then it all made sense.
"Otherwise, the only option would have been for all of those people to have ’accidents,’ or else flaws would appear."
Shrugging, Feng Yuan spoke as if it was of no consequence to him. Although they might still learn the truth through spies within the military, would they dare to disclose it? It was highly unlikely that Emperor Savidi would bother Feng Yuan, but if it wasn’t for them, Feng Yuan would not have been able to blow up that part of the Dream Domain, right?
When the time came, a furious Emperor Savidi would surely make them all have a ’good dream,’ so Feng Yuan was not at all worried about being discovered after the fact. As long as he wasn’t caught red-handed, they wouldn’t dare to make a fuss.
"You really are..."
Agunas caught on and realized it had overlooked that flaw. At that moment, the person who appeared to be the leader came in, smiling at everyone. He walked up to Feng Yuan, saluted, and said,
"Thank you for this time."
"Although we wanted to... we simply couldn’t do it, there was never an opportunity."
The man expressed his gratitude. Feng Yuan understood that the man couldn’t speak too plainly, given the sensitive nature of the matter. Glancing at Qi Chen, Feng Yuan said,
"This actually has little to do with you all. I just wanted to..."
"Regardless, you’ve helped us out in a big way."
The man saluted again. They had also hoped to bring their people back, but the enemy was pursuing them too closely, and they couldn’t risk starting a war by doing so, especially since Great Xia was not yet prepared for warfare.
Everyone was trying their best, but time kept slipping away. Just when they all felt they had no choice but to plan for revenge later, Feng Yuan took action.
Although there was no direct evidence, it was clear that Feng Yuan had something to do with it. How else could there be such a coincidence? But Emperor Savidi was in a towering rage, and even if there were suspicions, you couldn’t verify them without causing trouble for Feng Yuan.
"What do you plan to do with the exercise team now that they’ve been ’accidentally’ found?"
Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s question, the man looked at the wounded and said,
"There’s no order for now. They’ll probably ask their opinion, and if they wish to rejoin, naturally, no one will stop them."
Dou Yanlan looked at the man with an indecipherable expression, tugged at Feng Yuan, shook her head at him, and smiled. Feng Yuan said,
"That’s their choice. How could I interfere..."
"Sorry, because of the explosion, we have a lot of things to deal with, and we can’t entertain you properly for the time being."
The man apologized to Feng Yuan. The explosion had alarmed so many Divine Beasts; it was no small matter. And because the spatial conditions within the explosion area had undergone uncanny changes, they needed to adjust their strategies accordingly. Thus, he indeed didn’t have much time to entertain Feng Yuan and his party.
"No problem, we’re planning to head back ourselves. The college exams are coming up, and we don’t have much time to spare."
"Do you need... seats?"
Remembering something, the man quietly asked Feng Yuan, who shook his head with a slightly amused expression and said,
"Do you think I need them?"
"It seems not."
The man chuckled. Given Feng Yuan’s situation, which academy would reject him? Academies also compete with each other. Though Feng Yuan’s strength wasn’t developed by the academy, he was still their student, wasn’t he?
"Thanks, I’ve caused you trouble again."
Back in the dorm, Qi Chen gratefully said to Feng Yuan, "After seeing my father, I now understand what you and Agunas did. Especially going to such lengths to rescue us—it was truly sensational."
Disturbing so many Divine Beasts was no small feat. Feng Yuan and Agunas must have found it quite troublesome. Lying on the bed, Feng Yuan waved his hand and said,
"Troublesome? Hardly. Besides, haven’t you helped me a lot, too?"
"Helped you? Me?"
Qi Chen asked in confusion, but Feng Yuan just gave a mysterious smile without answering. Agunas seemed to guess something, flicking its tail and not explaining. Perched on the desk by the window, Agunas closed its eyes to rest, casually laying the book it was holding to one side.
Unlike Feng Yuan, what happened today had taken its toll on Agunas. It had to transform into various Spirit Beasts and pretend to attack the pursuers while also looking for an opportunity to break through the space and enter Clock Town.
After all, Agunas had planned to use various powers to strike Clock Town, causing an explosion, and then rescue the people in the chaos. But what it hadn’t expected was Feng Yuan’s move, which greatly magnified the commotion.
The terrifying explosion that occurred where Clock Town was located spread like wind throughout the Divine Land Region. People were condemning each other on their own media platforms, and even those from other regions were curious about how space-altering explosions were formed and what repercussions they might have—these were concerns for everyone.
Only the Divine Beasts knew the specifics, and perhaps the upper echelon of the Alliance too, but they did not intend to speak out. They weren’t fools; they could sniff out the abnormal situation behind it all. Even Emperor Savidi, once he’d recovered from his rage, sensed something amiss, though there was nothing it could do about it.
Whoever had the power to strike such a blow with the force of Divine Beasts had to be at least on par with it. It might be unsatisfied, but it didn’t want to investigate who was behind the deed, merely perturbed that they hadn’t given it a heads-up before taking action.
The media was full of speculation, but none of the information was reliable. The military, knowing the truth, kept silent. They even arranged for people to pretend they knew everything, but upon closer questioning, their answers were riddled with errors, a ploy to create confusion. Only the voices from the Divine Beast Hall refused to be quiet.
However, the Divine Beasts well-disposed towards them knew little; they were only aware that the mysterious area, where reality and the Dream Domain clashed, was harmless to people and would gradually heal over time—but beyond that, they were in the dark. Why did this happen? What was the cause of that peculiar area? They had no clue.
But for the general public, that was enough. At the very least, knowing such an explosion wouldn’t occur frequently was reassuring. As for the reason behind the explosion, everyone was free to let their imagination run wild and speculate.
"Clock Town has actually become synonymous with danger."
Eating dinner, Feng Yuan spoke as he watched the news on the projection screen, feeling speechless. The explanation from the Divine Beast Hall wasn’t problematic, but it unintentionally offended Lorraine Tower, as they implied Clock Town’s existence was a key factor in causing the horrific explosion.
"Wasn’t the explosion because of Clock Town?"
Stymied, Qi Chen pondered the matter based on what he had learned from Feng Yuan – without Clock Town, the explosion wouldn’t have been as exaggerated.
"Yes and no. The key lies in the power of the Divine Beasts enveloping Clock Town. The explosion was triggered because a mix of powerful forces broke through the barriers of the Domain and reality. With their way of presenting it, they make it seem as though Lorraine Tower is incredibly dangerous."
Feng Yuan spoke casually, reaching out to pat Xiao Ji on the head. Annoyed at being disturbed while eating, Xiao Ji gave Feng Yuan a disdainful glance. Smirking, Feng Yuan then gazed at Pomiti, but the Little Green Snake warned him with a look; it was well aware of what Feng Yuan was up to. Last time when Pomiti was eating, Feng Yuan had bothered it, nearly causing it to choke on soup.
Can Can looked at Little Green Snake; Feng Yuan scratched his head and continued with his meal. Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan and said with annoyance,
"Knowing it’s not right yet you still mess around—didn’t you almost cause harm to Pomiti last time?"
"Pfft!"
Feng Yuan turned his head away in a mock huff while Agunas calmly said,
"Can’t you just eat your food properly?"
"Just habit, that’s all—"
"But where to go tomorrow..."
Feng Yuan said, beginning to recall which places he hadn’t yet visited. Qi Chen said with exasperation,
"I don’t have time to accompany you out tomorrow. Plus, don’t you plan to go to the cultivation nursery anymore?"
"You’re going to be busy with ..."
As he spoke, Feng Yuan’s eyes kept darting toward Dou Yanlan, who was calmly eating as if she hadn’t noticed Feng Yuan’s peculiar gaze and said,
"We have agreed to practice at the battle site tomorrow. After all, not everyone has gifts like yours."
"Heh heh—"
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan looked embarrassed.
