Chapter 672: Chapter 673: Norek_1
"Without artificial intelligence, how do you expect me to pilot this thing? Not to mention, I’ve never learned to drive a mothership."
Guo Huai looked at Feng Yuan speechlessly. Even though he possessed spiritual power in this life, he couldn’t pilot a mothership like those Divine Sense captains from his previous life could, and that remained true even if the Norek was incomplete.
"Just go ahead and drive it~ What are you afraid of, taking on water?"
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Guo Huai said dismissively,
"I’m not worried about taking on water; I’m worried about crashing it. There’s nowhere here for you to fix it."
Feng Yuan revealed a mysterious smile and said,
"I can fix it myself. I don’t need a star harbor."
"Psh! Do you have the materials?"
Guo Huai curled his lips in disbelief at Feng Yuan’s wild claims and looked around before asking,
"Can I take a tour of the Norek?"
"Sure, there’s nothing really worth your concern anyway."
Feng Yuan said indifferently, as he only kept this thing as a memento. Also, the world’s difference meant that Guo Huai wouldn’t find any use for anything inside the Norek.
Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s agreement, Guo Huai excitedly crawled into the interior of the Norek. Meanwhile, Feng Yuan, with the sea breeze blowing, leisurely walked along the deck towards the bow, where Agunas’s phantom voiced some confusion,
"This thing looks a bit strange."
"The railing around here seems rather low?"
"After all, during a battle any part can be hit. It’s not some tourist ship; there’s no need for high railings. It’s enough for people to know the extent of the deck."
Feng Yuan explained calmly, as Xiao Ji curiously surveyed its surroundings from Feng Yuan’s arms. This was its first time seeing such an extraordinary ship. Feng Yuan gently straightened Xiao Ji’s fur ruffled by the sea wind, although the fur remained disheveled no matter how much he tried to tidy it because of the continuous breeze.
The speed of the Norek was extremely fast. Right after lunch, everyone saw the shadow of the continent in the distance. Feng Yuan gathered his things and told everyone,
"Go to the deck. When the time comes, we’ll just need to jump down."
"This..."
Mo Li hesitated, and Feng Yuan smiled, saying,
"Don’t worry. The Norek is equipped with an artificial gravity system. Even if you jump off, you won’t fall too fast before you’re out of range."
"Really?"
Mo Li looked at Feng Yuan skeptically. Since it concerned Mo Ling, he couldn’t be too careful. Feng Yuan gave a scoff and said,
"Why would I lie to you? There’s no benefit in it for me."
"That’s true."
Mo Li couldn’t help but agree with Feng Yuan’s statement. While Feng Yuan did occasionally keep secrets, he had never seen him deliberately set a trap for himself. Or maybe Feng Yuan just wasn’t interested in such things?
As the Norek surged onto the beach, even Mo Li could guess that the ship wasn’t actually floating on water but flying above it.
Reaching the bow of the ship on the deck, Feng Yuan didn’t say much. He simply held Xiao Ji and jumped down. As Feng Yuan floated down slowly like before in the gravity domain, Mo Li glanced at Mo Ling and said,
"Ride on Zi Mo."
Mo Ling smiled faintly and replied,
"Brother, let’s go together."
After a moment of silence, Mo Li mounted Zi Mo and reached out his hand to Mo Ling. Liu Wenli looked at Mo Li, leaped forward, and Amon caught her in mid-air, cradling her princess-style as they drifted downwards slowly.
Wei Fangwu and the White Ape didn’t have such trouble. Although they were relatively high above the ground at their current position, there was a slope leading down from the deck. Sliding down that slope and coming to a stop at the end wasn’t particularly far from the ground, a height from which Wei Fangwu could jump without any concerns.
After everyone had descended, the Norek burrowed into a black passage and disappeared. Feng Yuan stretched and said,
"Let’s get going."
"It’s a shame we don’t have any means of transportation."
Agunas’s phantom glanced at Feng Yuan, annoyed, and said,
"You aren’t planning on calling Kui Shui Xuanwu over, are you?"
"Of course not. With its size, it would be too conspicuous on land, right?"
Delong Tower had left as soon as they exited the high-speed corridor, and although the White Wolf Deity could carry people, this wasn’t overseas. The White Wolf Deity’s distinctive size would be instantly recognized by the King of Great Li’s Royal Court, even here in Nan Huang.
"Let’s just go. Stop thinking about some mode of transportation all the time. It’s good to walk honestly."
Yao Yin glanced at Feng Yuan and said irritably. The Illusory Sound Parrot flew around them, uttering a variety of strange phrases to everyone. Feng Yuan covered his forehead and said,
"This really is..."
"What’s it saying?"
"No idea."
Feng Yuan rolled his eyes in response, and Guo Huai glanced at Feng Yuan, stating,
"Why are you covering your face?"
"No choice... It’s bad enough the parrot doesn’t talk, let alone make normal sounds."
The spectral image of Agunas flicked its tail and said,
"It seems to be indicating that there’s a human settlement in that direction."
"We don’t need to resupply for the time being, do we?"
Feng Yuan glanced at Hua Yiyou and asked. Resupplying was his responsibility, and he knew that Hua Yiyou had already taken people to Pearl Town to restock when they left, so they should have enough supplies.
Shaking his head, Hua Yiyou said,
"No need to resupply, but we do need to go and ask where we are."
They couldn’t just look around and know where they were. Setting aside the fact that there were no sufficiently detailed maps at the moment, even Feng Yuan actually relied on his own permissions rather than his surroundings for location.
"Alright..."
Feng Yuan hadn’t thought of that or, to be more precise, it wasn’t an issue for him. But since Hua Yiyou mentioned it, he didn’t bother to argue. After some thought, Hua Yiyou said to everyone,
"I’ll go by myself, just wait here for me."
"Let it follow you, and when you come back, you can have it lead us to your location."
Feng Yuan landed a small messenger bird on Hua Yiyou’s shoulder as he spoke. Liu Wenli surveyed their surroundings and said,
"Indeed, we should leave as soon as possible; they won’t fail to notice the commotion caused by the Norek."
Reminded by Liu Wenli, everyone reacted, nodded their heads, and Hua Yiyou swiftly left with the messenger bird. Seeing Feng Yuan staring at her, Mo Li asked, puzzled,
"Why are you looking at me?"
"To lead the way~"
"Lead the way?"
Seeing Feng Yuan just looking at her, Mo Li helplessly said,
"Can’t you do it?"
"Don’t want to."
"Fine..."
Seeing Feng Yuan seemingly really didn’t want to lead, Mo Li decided to let a guard take them in a random direction. Given they weren’t clear about their exact location, Mo Li preferred not to lead them too far away, lest they take a detour only to encounter trouble.
A little while after they left, a group of soldiers dressed in barbaric-looking clothes cautiously approached the spot where Feng Yuan and his group had landed. After looking around, they conversed with one another, talking about something.
"Speaking of which, where do you plan to go?"
Feng Yuan asked Wei Dingwu and the others curiously. Wei Fangwu thought for a moment and said,
"I plan to head north to have a look; I heard there are quite a few prosperous kingdoms there."
After pondering for a long while, Wei Dingwu said,
"I’m planning to go south. Wenli said the north gets very cold in winter, and besides, I’m not that interested in those prosperous kingdoms."
Feng Yuan glanced at Liu Wenli and said,
"Look at the mess you’ve made."
"What have I done?"
Liu Wenli looked at Feng Yuan with discontent and retorted. Feng Yuan scoffed dismissively and said,
"You must have spoken ill of Tian Fang, so she chose to continue south. Don’t forget that we’re already quite far south."
"If you keep heading south, it won’t be long before you see the sea."
"Tch!"
Liu Wenli turned her head away, not looking at Feng Yuan. What he said was indeed true; as a result of previous experiences, she had indeed spent quite a while whispering unpleasant things about Tian Fang into Wei Dingwu’s ear.
"Are we... going to part ways?"
Mo Ling said somewhat reluctantly. Looking at Mo Ling, Liu Wenli said calmly,
"Perhaps, although we don’t mind just setting out, having a direction isn’t bad."
Wei Fangwu, leaning against his halberd planted in the ground, said with a smile,
"I really don’t want to get close to Great Li; it’s the center of the storm."
"I hope to leave this place before the big battle."
Wei Fangwu said with a smile. Although he guessed that Mo Ling and the others might be from Great Li, he didn’t think he was in a position to interfere in Great Li’s affairs. He didn’t know exactly what was going on there, but his own sources had clearly indicated that it was a formidable adversary.
"King, ah..."
Wei Fangwu looked up into the sky and sighed.
