Chapter 634: Chapter 635: A Coincidental Encounter_1

"Can we really rely on Kavieng alone?"

"I remember that when the Maritime People besieged them, he seemed to have little power to fight back."

Feng Yuan smiled and looked at the archipelago not far away, saying

"That’s because Kavieng needed to keep Nanyu City from sinking into the sea, and he didn’t want to provoke them further. Otherwise, Kavieng, with his Sacred Beast Level strength, is not so easy to deal with."

"What’s more, he has the special ability of jadeification."

"Jadeification? Oh right, he used it before."

Guo Huai was shocked, but recalling the scene when the sea was turned directly into jade during the internal conflict in Nanyu City, he understood somewhat; anyone who could turn the sea straight into jade obviously couldn’t be weak.

Liu Wenli said calmly

"If they provoke it, can they recover after being jadeified?"

"No, once a creature is jadeified, it is doomed to die; Kavieng lacks the ability to maintain the souls of the living."

Feng Yuan spread his hands and explained. Unlike Karnas, Kavieng’s ability to jadeify was not complete, and Feng Yuan was not surprised by this imperfection.

"Don’t worry, I will ask Delong Tower to warn them."

Seeing Wei Dingwu’s worried look, Feng Yuan understood what he was concerned about and spoke up, intending to ask Delong Tower. Delong Tower gave Feng Yuan a glance and sank into the sea, apparently not interested in Feng Yuan’s words. If it wasn’t for the huge shadow beneath the water proving Delong Tower was still there, everyone would have thought Delong Tower had left because of Feng Yuan’s request.

"You..."

Guo Huai was somewhat speechless about Feng Yuan, who always seemed to summon the Divine Beasts to do his bidding in times of need and completely ignored them otherwise. He couldn’t understand why the Divine Beasts didn’t get angry over this.

"Why don’t you go to the island and take a look? You might be able to help."

Feng Yuan glanced at Wei Dingwu and said. Without any hesitation, Wei Dingwu met Feng Yuan’s gaze and said

"Thanks."

Kui Shui Xuanwu seemed to have been paying attention to everyone all along; as soon as Wei Dingwu’s voice fell, Kui Shui Xuanwu slowly swam towards the small island where Nanyu City was located. Watching the slowly expanding island, Wei Fangwu leaned against the White Ape and said with some emotion

"Won’t those islands grow to be about the same size as the original territory of Nanyu Kingdom eventually?"

"No, it would be good enough if they could match the size of Nanyu City and its affiliated villages combined. If it’s too big, even Kavieng wouldn’t be able to defend it."

While saying this, Feng Yuan looked towards the direction of the Divine Land. However, since everyone had been circling around at sea, they had no idea where the Divine Land was, therefore not understanding Feng Yuan’s implication. Even Cheng Yong was the same; with no reference points at sea other than those among the Aquatic People or the Maritime People responsible for navigation, probably only the Spirit Beasts could navigate clearly.

No sooner had Kui Shui Xuanwu landed than Wei Dingwu, impatient, jumped down and ran towards the direction of Nanyu City he saw earlier. Seeing the others looking at him curiously, Wei Fangwu, leaning lazily on the White Ape, said

"This was the last time I helped them; after this, I have nothing to do with them. How they fare from now on has nothing to do with me."

Guo Huai looked at Wei Fangwu suspiciously for a moment, then turned his head to the nearby grove of trees, soon uttering in surprise

"How could there be Spiritual Medicine?!"

"Well, being a newly born island, it has to ’refresh’ some resources, doesn’t it?"

Hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Guo Huai looked at him speechlessly and said

"The way you put it makes me feel strange, don’t tell me this world is just a game."

"Of course not. But what’s the significance of it being a game or not? If one lives in a game world, how does it make a difference whether it is a game?"

"This..."

Guo Huai had only asked casually, but Feng Yuan’s response reminded him of the highly realistic intelligent NPCs from games in a previous life which even sparked numerous protests. Shaking his head, Guo Huai decided to put those thoughts aside; the games in this world were still far from that level, and they were not his concern for now.

"Aren’t you coming over? That might be evolution material there."

Jumping onto the beach, Guo Huai noticed Wei Fangwu hadn’t followed and called out in confusion. Upon hearing Guo Huai’s words, Wei Fangwu’s eyes lit up, and he immediately jumped off Kui Shui Xuanwu’s back, grabbed Guo Huai by the shoulder, and asked

"Where? What kind of material?!"

Watching the two head into the grove, Feng Yuan, holding Xiao Ji and Pomiti, descended from Kui Shui Xuanwu’s back and asked

"Coming down to take a look?"

Liu Wenli nodded, allowing Amon to carry her off Kui Shui Xuanwu’s back in a princess carry. Mo Li rode on Zi Mo’s back and reached out to Mo Ling, glancing at Feng Yuan standing below. Mo Ling smiled gracefully and took Mo Li’s extended hand.

Seeing Mo Ling’s expression, Mo Li was taken aback and somewhat puzzled, but he didn’t have time to think too much. He pulled Mo Ling onto Zi Mo’s back and then Mo Li rode Zi Mo down from the back of Kui Shui Xuanwu.

Hua Yiyou gave a slight smile and followed the guards down carefully, while Cheng Yong carefully climbed down from Kui Shui Xuanwu and stood on the beach, curiously surveying the surroundings.

"Hasn’t she recovered yet?"

"Shall we go take a look?"

After glancing at Feng Yuan, who seemed somewhat impatient, Mo Li suggested. He then looked at the Lantern Bug on his shoulder, planning to introduce it to its companions, fully aware that once he left this time, he might never have the chance to return here.

Feng Yuan, who had scanned the Lantern Bug on Mo Li’s shoulder, understood Mo Li’s intention, waved his hand dismissively and said,

"As you wish, I don’t care either way."

Noticing Mo Li looking at him, Wei Fangwu smiled and said,

"Don’t mind me, it’s just a visit to Nanyu City. It’s nothing to me."

Seeing that no one objected, Mo Li ordered the guards to lead the way, and the group headed towards Nanyu City. Along the road, the dense shrubs and plants caused a great hindrance to the group. Although Wei Dingwu had cleared a path ahead, the group’s progress was still difficult.

"Let me clear the way."

Liu Wenli glanced at Feng Yuan before speaking. She didn’t quite understand why that guy felt comfortable lagging at the end of the group. Clearing the path in a forest is generally better done by the stronger ones, as Amon now easily cleared a rather wide road with just a few chops.

"She really is impatient."

Feng Yuan said with a smile, laying back with his hands behind his head. Xiao Ji and Pomiti were walking on either side of Feng Yuan, with Little Green Snake accompanying Pomiti, vigilantly watching Pomiti in case it slipped into the bushes and got lost.

"How do you know she’s impatient? Could it be that you’ve sent something to follow her?"

Yao Yin looked at Feng Yuan somewhat disdainfully, to which Feng Yuan replied irritably after a glance at her,

"The path has basically been smashed out by Tuk, not properly cleared. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be so troublesome for us."

"Smashed out..."

"Where were you looking!"

Noticing Guo Huai’s glance at Amon was a bit off, Liu Wenli spoke irritably and then resignedly said,

"What you said is basically true, this kind of path can only be smashed out. I really don’t understand her. If she likes it, why doesn’t she stay?"

"Likes?"

Feng Yuan, sensing the scent of gossip, suddenly perked up and looked at Liu Wenli with shining eyes. After scanning Feng Yuan, Liu Wenli said calmly,

"Guess for yourself."

"Hmph!"

"Cutting down trees directly?"

"Who!"

"Who’s there!"

Just as Feng Yuan spoke up, the men who were chopping down trees and clearing space became alert and shouted, walking out from the forest. Feng Yuan curiously looked at the people around him, and upon seeing the familiar ethnic dress, he said with some surprise,

"Well, this is a coincidence."

"What?"

Mo Li, who was puzzled by Feng Yuan’s words, hadn’t followed Feng Yuan out because Hua Yiyou had stopped him for a moment. Noticing their outfits, Mo Li said with surprise,

"How coincidental, is Lady Zhuo here?"

"Lady Zhuo?"

The men gripped their axes tightly, surveying Feng Yuan and the others with caution. Having experienced the Maritime People’s attacks and the unrest among the five major families, the remaining people were very vigilant, fearing another sneak attack. Seeing their tense demeanor, Feng Yuan spread his hands and said,

"We’re not enemies. Or rather, we have met Lady Zhuo a few times. If possible, please take us to her or just let her know we’re here."

Perhaps seeing that Feng Yuan and the others were unarmed, the group remained alert but did not react further. One of them turned and ran towards the back, and ahead, the massive city walls of Nanyu City could be vaguely seen.
