"Seems like the sounds of strange monkeys," Feng Yuan said, but he didn’t move an inch. He had no interest in strange monkeys; after all, they weren’t to his liking. Guo Huai glanced at Feng Yuan and then said to Mo Li,

"Shall we go have a look?"

Seeing Mo Li looking at him, Hua Yiyou nodded and said,

"Let’s go and see. From the sounds of it, it seems like there’s a conflict happening."

Feng Yuan trailed behind the group with an uninterested expression. The Agunas phantom shook its tail and said,

"Don’t you like Spirit Beasts very much?"

"Those trouble-making monkeys? Forget it. They aren’t cute, they love to cause trouble, and really, having them around..."

"Is appearance that important?"

Feng Yuan curled his lip and said,

"At least when something cute causes trouble, it makes it a little less annoying for me."

"Superficial."

"Tch, Little Crocodile, are you picking a fight with me?"

The Agunas phantom shook its tail again and said,

"So what if I am?"

"Just wait, I hold grudges."

Feng Yuan’s threat was completely ignored by the Agunas phantom, who found Feng Yuan uninteresting and simply paid him no heed.

After walking a bit, they suddenly came upon a clearing. The trees abruptly ended, and in the center of the clearing stood a tall, straight tree. "Do they really not eat people?"

"Spirit Beasts usually only target unintelligent wild animals as their prey. I’m not too clear on the situation here."

The Gale Wolves circled the umbrella-like tree, growling lowly, while the monkeys on the tree screeched back defiantly. The noisy calls of the two types of Spirit Beasts were making Feng Yuan quite irritated.

As Guo Huai observed the strange monkeys, sudden information that popped up startled him. After going through the information, he said, feeling speechless,

"That big tree is actually a Spirit Beast?"

"What else?"

"But... it doesn’t look like it..."

If it weren’t for the system’s information, Guo Huai wouldn’t have thought the tree where the strange monkeys were perched was a Spirit Beast. No matter how one looked at it, the tree seemed odd but not particularly special.

The straight trunk had no branches below, only at the crown did it suddenly split into a multitude of branches supporting a dark green canopy, like an umbrella.

The strange monkeys hung from those branches at the tree crown, screeching threateningly at the Gale Wolves below. Feng Yuan glanced at the Agunas phantom and said,

"Could you go ask them?"

The Agunas phantom nodded and drifted over to the Gale Wolves. It was also curious about what was happening here since umbrella trees didn’t usually reject the presence of various Spirit Beasts within their protective range. Hua Yiyou, hearing the earlier conversation between Feng Yuan and Guo Huai, and seeing Guo Huai not interacting with Feng Yuan but standing still, couldn’t help but pull Guo Huai to the side and ask him in a low voice.

Stopping Yao Yin who wanted to get involved, Feng Yuan said helplessly,

"How can you intervene when you don’t even know what’s going on?"

"Isn’t it just that those wolves want to eat those monkeys? What could be simpler."

"So which side do you plan to help?"

"Of course the monkeys, although they’re not particularly cute, I don’t want to let those stinky wolves eat them!"

Holding his forehead, Feng Yuan said without words

"You’re making this up, aren’t you? Both the Gale Wolves and the odd monkeys are Spirit Beasts, and Gale Wolves are not those chaotic evil Spirit Beasts. How could they possibly eat the odd monkeys? Watching the odd monkeys and Gale Wolves confront each other, Yao Yin simply didn’t believe what Feng Yuan said. A platform formed under her feet from Vine Barrier, Feng Yuan set down Xiao Ji and Pomiti and said to the Little Green Snake

"Help keep an eye on Pomiti, don’t let it run around and get itself dirty."

The Little Green Snake hissed and shook its tail as if to show understanding, while Xiao Ji shook its body, making its somewhat disheveled fur neater.

After a while, Agunas’ apparition floated back. The Gale Wolves and odd monkeys were still confronting each other. In the meantime, the odd monkeys tentatively used long-range attacks against the Gale Wolves, but unfortunately, being weaker, the odd monkeys had no advantage against the higher-level Good Level Gale Wolves.

Agunas’ apparition said with a worried expression. After all, both the Umbrella Trees and the odd monkeys are of Common Level, and they wouldn’t stand a chance if they really fought against the Good Level pack of Gale Wolves, which currently wasn’t taking things seriously.

The scent of the food that Feng Yuan and the others had cooked the day before had enticed the monkeys. The foolish odd monkeys immediately got the wrong idea about Feng Yuan and his group.

Hearing the screeching sounds getting closer, Feng Yuan waved his staff, and a sturdy Vine Barrier blocked all the rushing odd monkeys, many of which were already in mid-air, baring their teeth and claws, ready to snatch at Feng Yuan and his group’s packs. They crashed into the suddenly appearing Vine Wall and fell to the ground covered in mud.

The odd monkeys were furious, threateningly screeching at Feng Yuan and the others after the Vine Wall disappeared.
