Chapter 466: Chapter 466: Return to Great Li_1

"Is everyone ready?"

"Have you checked out of the room?"

Glancing at Feng Yuan, Yao Yin said irritably,

"Of course, I haven’t forgotten something like that."

"I don’t need to hurry over there so soon, do I?"

Guo Huai, sounding tired, said while Feng Yuan looked at him and remarked,

"If you keep thinking it doesn’t matter, remember, I’m not in charge of handing out the rewards."

"And aren’t you planning to practice your explosive alchemy method?"

"What explosive alchemy method! I hardly ever blow things up anymore, okay!"

"Really?~"

Hearing Feng Yuan draw out his tone on purpose, Guo Huai said through gritted teeth,

"Pu Pu! Sleepytime Tune!"

"No use~"

A ring of black runes materialized out of thin air, slowly revolving around Feng Yuan. Pu Pu’s chanting of the Sleepytime Tune had no effect on Feng Yuan, but Pomiti and Little Green Snake were accidentally hit by it, their eyelids fighting a losing battle before they quickly fell over; luckily, Big Cat used telekinesis just in time to catch Pomiti as he fell from above.

"How is it not working?!"

Guo Huai stared at Feng Yuan in disbelief. He could sense that Feng Yuan had not borrowed the power of any Spirit Beast and that there wasn’t even a hint of power fluctuation from him. But the Dream-Eating Spirit Pu Pu’s Sleepytime Tune offensive move was entirely ineffective, as Feng Yuan stood there, energetic and smiling at Guo Huai.

Agunas’s phantom said helplessly,

"If you had attacked him directly, that would be another story, but control-type ultimate moves are useless against him."

"Why?"

Guo Huai asked, somewhat puzzled, while Yao Yin glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

"Positional exemption?"

"Close enough."

"Let’s go if you’re all ready~"

Seeing Guo Huai as if intending to have Pu Pu switch to an offensive ultimate move, Feng Yuan decisively spoke, shaking the lantern in his hand, its pure white flame wrapping around those present.

"Leaving the modern era, huh? It’s good we’ve left, saves us from the trouble of those who can’t see clearly always wanting to bother him."

The old guard stepped out of the shadows, watching the pure white flame gradually extinguish, and chuckled a moment later saying,

"Hopefully, the rest of them will come to their senses. I’ve grown a bit weary of always playing this cat-and-mouse game with them."

"I can’t act with you for now; there’s been some trouble at Wolf Mountain. Remember, I’m now called Feng Yuan. Don’t get it wrong."

Feng Yuan cautioned the two, as Yao Yin asked with some confusion,

"What happened at Wolf Mountain?"

"Didn’t I send White Wolf Deity to handle a minor nuisance some time ago? It seems that an annoying person has discovered it."

"So, what are you planning to do now?"

Feng Yuan waved his hand and said,

"I’ve left a clone here. Its combat ability isn’t non-existent, but it’s not great at taking action. Xiao Ji, just make sure you and Little Green Snake don’t let anyone ambush me."

"Pomiti... I’m not sure if Xiao Ji can handle it..."

"Do we need to help?"

Yao Yin asked, staring at Feng Yuan, who after thinking for a bit replied,

"Just keep an eye out and make sure no one ambushes me."

"You seem in good spirits, so I won’t worry."

Feng Yuan said with an unfriendly look to the newcomer,

"I wonder what it is about Wolf Mountain that attracts the Third Prince to ’visit’ from time to time?"

Flapping the folding fan in his hand, the youth referred to by Feng Yuan as the Third Prince revealed a friendly smile and said,

"Naturally, it is concern for the Divine Envoy’s health. If some accident were to happen, wouldn’t Wolf Mountain Hall fall into the hands of your senior brother too easily?"

"Him? He doesn’t have the capability to take over Wolf Mountain Hall, and even if he took Pomiti, it would be the same!"

"Oh? He took the Divine Lord of Wolf Mountain Hall?"

Feng Yuan glanced at the Third Prince with a hostile tone and said,

"You wouldn’t be aware of it? Do you think I can’t detect your people, or do you think I would go around in circles with you?"

"You must be joking; I wouldn’t have the nerve to arrange surveillance on Wolf Mountain."

"Are you suggesting they all belong to the Eldest Prince?"

Feng Yuan sneered, and the Third Prince spread his hands and said,

"I never said that; you’re the one guessing."

"However, what was the reason for the sudden departure of the Wolf God some time ago?"

With a grim look on his face, the Third Prince stared at Feng Yuan, who, leaning on the door frame, glanced at the Third Prince and said,

"How would I know? Do you always have to ask your father the king about his whereabouts every time he leaves the palace?"

"That I certainly wouldn’t dare. But that’s a different matter."

The Third Prince said to Feng Yuan with a stern expression,

"In the laws of the Great Li Dynasty, there are clear regulations regarding the deities served by Divine Envoys; they must not disappear abruptly, and if they intend to travel far, they need to report to the government office in advance."

"Since the Wolf God did not report to the government office, where did it actually go?"

"I can’t help but suspect that you Wolf Mountain are colluding with Zhen Nan City!"

Facing the fierce gaze of the Third Prince, Feng Yuan said with some amusement,

"Colluding with Zhen Nan City? Isn’t Zhen Nan City part of the Great Li territories? What would there be to collude about?"

"You know what I mean!"

"If they find evidence of your collusion! Wolf Mountain will definitely pay a price for this."

Feng Yuan looked at the Third Prince dismissively and said,

"By your logic, it seems Zhen Nan City has rebelled? Yet why have I never heard of such a thing?"

The Third Prince closed his folding fan and tapped it gently on his palm while looking at Feng Yuan and said,

"You haven’t heard of it?"

"Otherwise, go ask anyone in Great Li City? Never heard but you say they have rebelled, could it be..."

Meeting Feng Yuan’s doubtful gaze, the Third Prince endured for a moment before turning his head away to avoid Feng Yuan’s stare and said,

"To say rebellion may not yet apply, but we already have evidence that they are preparing to harm the Great Li."

"Either publicly declare Zhen Nan City in rebellion, or issue an Imperial Decree, otherwise I won’t make a move based on your verbal statements alone."

"Even if Feng Yuan is there, that doesn’t matter?"

"To deal with him by having the Wolf God take action? Do you think the Wolf God is weak? Or do you think the commoners in Zhen Nan City are so strong they can withstand the Wolf God’s Offensive Ultimate Move?"

Closely observing Feng Yuan, the Third Prince saw that Feng Yuan was speaking without any signs of abnormality, and slightly let go of the doubt in his heart, saying,

"How could that be possible? If those lowly citizens had such strength, Zhen Nan would have rebelled long ago."

"I came to see you to check on your health and to remind you in passing; we wouldn’t want you Wolf Mountain to get involved should they rebel!"

"I can’t guarantee that; though my master has expelled Feng Yuan, if he were to claim to be the Divine Envoy of Wolf Mountain, there is nothing I can do about it."

"Didn’t he take advantage of my illness some time ago to steal my Pomiti?"

Seeing Feng Yuan’s helpless appearance, the Third Prince said with suspicion,

"Aren’t you worried they’ll use force to take back everything that’s his?"

Looking at the Third Prince as if he were an idiot, Feng Yuan said,

"The Wolf God doesn’t recognize him, so what would he use to take it? If he had a deity stronger than the Wolf God to assist him, why would he need to take it back by force?"

"Aren’t you oversimplifying things?"

The Third Prince frowned suspiciously as he scrutinized Feng Yuan. He found it hard to believe that Feng Yuan could have such a naive way of thinking; after all, even if there was no need to take it by force, just to prove the wrongness of his master’s choice, he would probably go to great lengths to get it back, regardless of its usefulness.

Doubtfully observing Feng Yuan, the Third Prince was somewhat puzzled about what exactly Feng Yuan was pondering. After some probing, he was not very suspicious anymore that Feng Yuan and Feng Yuan were the same person; there were many pieces of evidence, aside from his recent performance, proving they were not one and the same.

"The reconstruction of Yongning is progressing quite swiftly."

Looking at the new city walls, Feng Yuan exclaimed in surprise; after all, it had only been more than half a year since they left, and Yongning already almost bore no resemblance to its previous ruined state. A proud guard said,

"Of course – it’s the miracle achieved by the general using the Ziting Guard. If you ask me, those messy Divine Lords can’t even compare to our general’s Ziting Guard."

Feng Yuan looked at the proud guard and smiled, not intending to explain the difference between the Ziting Guard and the Divine Lords.

Arriving at the newly rebuilt mansion and seeing the plaque of the Yongning General’s Mansion hanging above, Feng Yuan murmured,

"No wonder... it’s almost coming out into the open..."
