Chapter 441: Chapter 441 Basimian_1

"I had a hunch, but don’t you feel a bit unsatisfied?"

Qi Xiaoshuang said, glancing at Feng Yuan while pinching the Pomiti in her arms. Feng Yuan sighed and said,

"Are you talking about Dou Yanlan?"

"Yeah, even though she likes my brother, it seems she gets along with you pretty well."

"Not really... a friend is just a friend, I don’t want to take it any further..."

Qi Xiaoshuang stared at Feng Yuan with a puzzled look and said,

"Why? Don’t tell me you don’t plan on having a grand romance while we’re still in school?"

"I don’t want to, and if you bring this up again, be careful, or I might have a good talk with your parents about you changing three boyfriends."

"You! You actually snooped on me! Hold on! Where did I get three boyfriends from!"

Qi Xiaoshuang glared at Feng Yuan discontentedly and said. Feng Yuan counted with his fingers, pretending to be serious, and said,

"One in kindergarten, one in primary school, and this one counts as one too, your love life sure is rich~"

"What nonsense are you talking about! Where did those from kindergarten and primary school come from! You’re spreading rumors!"

Yang Hongzhi looked at Feng Yuan and Qi Xiaoshuang as they playfully argued, then at Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan who hid aside whispering quietly, and said somewhat speechlessly,

"Now’s the time we should be sneaking into Noscarte Castle, isn’t it..."

The shadow of Agunas watched this scene speechlessly, although it also knew that whatever was happening here posed no pressure to Feng Yuan, the atmosphere, which felt almost like a picnic, was something it found quite hard to get used to.

After a while, Feng Yuan said to everyone,

"Let’s go, the exit of the passage should be right ahead."

Dou Yanlan kept her excitement in check and walked joyfully at the front. Qi Chen followed carefully behind her, vigilantly surveying their surroundings. Seeing Qi Chen’s nervous demeanor, Feng Yuan thought about it but ultimately decided not to persuade him.

As they pushed open the door, everyone entered an underground room. Through a small window on the wooden door, Feng Yuan saw two guards outside. He signaled to everyone and then stepped aside. The White Wolf Deity approached quietly and stamped its paw. A sound of things freezing filled the air. Feng Yuan gently pushed the door open, saw the frozen and shattered padlock on the ground, and chuckled,

"Well, they did lock it up~"

"Where is this?"

Looking around with some concern, Qi Chen whispered, considering the style of the decor suggested they might have ended up somewhere like a barracks. Feng Yuan smiled and said,

"This is a pretty important place inside Noscarte, I wonder if Persmian Bolate is here right now~"

Dou Yanlan glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

"Do you think Persmian Bolate of this era will help you?"

Waving his finger, Feng Yuan smiled and said,

"He will, because he must have read his own diary, otherwise they wouldn’t have built this secret passage."

"Persmian Bolate? That name seems familiar; I think I saw it somewhere..."

Seeing Qi Xiaoshuang trying hard to recall, Feng Yuan smiled mischievously and said,

"Of course, you’ve seen it. That portrait there, Persmian Bolate, the chief architect of Noscarte."

"Him? Well, if we could get his help..."

"Actually, if we didn’t want to sneak in, it wouldn’t be so troublesome; we could have just charged in."

Feng Yuan spread his hands in a somewhat helpless gesture. Glancing at Feng Yuan, Qi Xiaoshuang said with dissatisfaction,

"I don’t want to see that kind of scene."

"So, are we leaving now or should we go look for Persmian Bolate?"

Feng Yuan asked everyone. After thinking for a while, Jenna spoke,

"Let’s go find him. I don’t know much about the castle’s secret passageways, but are you sure he’ll help us?"

"He should. Anyway, if it’s not right..."

Understanding the unspoken words of Feng Yuan, Dou Yanlan sighed and said,

"We might as well."

"Do you know him?"

Jenna asked the group. Feng Yuan understood Jenna’s intention and waved his hand, saying,

"It’s best not to split up. This might not be a barracks, but there are still quite a few guards."

Feng Yuan said as he pulled out the Greatsword and threw it forcefully. Dreaming Dragon Baby floated over, trying to pull the Greatsword from the guardsman’s body. It coiled tightly around the hilt, straining without stop, but after a while, with the Greatsword remaining motionless, Dreaming Dragon Baby floated back somewhat dejectedly. Big Cat sauntered over, and under the influence of its telekinesis, the Greatsword trembled continuously, but still, it couldn’t be pulled out by Big Cat.

"What’s the situation? Is this sword that heavy?"

Qi Chen walked up with some confusion and reached out to grab the Greatsword. After a moment, he looked at Feng Yuan, perplexed, and said

"What’s up with your sword?"

"It’s been enhanced, what’s so strange about that?"

Feng Yuan pointed at the Greatsword, walked over, gripped it with one hand, and pulled it out with a shake. Observing the black bands of light entwined around the Greatsword, Dou Yanlan immediately understood what had happened and said

"A gravity spell?"

"Yeah."

Feng Yuan waved the Greatsword, dissipating the bands of light, and handed the now lighter Greatsword to Qi Chen. Taking it with both hands, Qi Chen found the sword to be very heavy still but much more manageable than before, when he couldn’t move it at all. With a wordless glance at Feng Yuan, Qi Chen handed the Greatsword back to him and said

"You really are..."

"Let’s go. Where does he usually stay?"

Seeing Feng Yuan look towards her, Jenna thought for a moment and said

"If it’s a usual day, he likes to stay in his bookroom, looking over Noscarte’s research drawings. Whether he’s there now or not, I..."

"Then to the bookroom. Even if we don’t find anyone, we can still look over the drawings and figure out the best way to enter without equal."

"Follow me."

Realizing that Feng Yuan was about to lead them in the wrong direction, Jenna quickly spoke up. Watching Jenna leading everyone down a descending passageway, Feng Yuan scratched his head and said with a smile,

"Why are we going this way?"

Jenna smiled and said

"Persmian Bolate’s bookroom, for security reasons or something else, is only accessible through one passageway, the entrance to which is in the dungeon."

"Quite the bizarre taste..."

"You’re here?"

A middle-aged man wearing glasses was sitting at a desk, seemingly writing something. Hearing the door open, he looked up calmly and said, seeing the neatly dressed man in front of him, Jenna spoke with a somewhat complex expression,

"Did you know we would come?"

With a smile, the middle-aged man stood up, gazing out the window at the fog and the torches quickly moving through it, and said,

"Such great chaos, besides you, I can’t think of anyone else."

"You’re that certain?"

Feng Yuan studied the middle-aged man skeptically. The man sighed and said,

"You must be here to resolve this turmoil, right?"

Narrowing his eyes, Feng Yuan continued to scrutinize the man,

"It seems you understand quite well what has happened here?"

The middle-aged man laughed at himself and said,

"If you had seen a diary written by your future self, you would understand what’s happening too."

"Though I don’t know why it wasn’t Lorraine Tower who came, but... I’m certain one of you must be a real deity, right?"

Feng Yuan glanced at Najia and said,

"That is indeed correct."

The middle-aged man looked at Najia and shook his head, saying,

"It won’t do; it can’t fight against Yagina. Only a being of the same caliber as Lorraine Tower has a chance."

"You seem to understand what the other side is?"

Jenna looked at the middle-aged man curiously. Although Feng Yuan and the others had mentioned it, she didn’t know what the fake World Clock fragment actually was. As for Lorraine Tower, although she had never heard of it, according to the man’s implication, it seemed to be more powerful than Najia.

"I don’t know; all I know is that the other isn’t a life form from our world, and distorting space-time isn’t something normal deities can achieve..."

"Actually, what I’m more curious about is how exactly you came by all this information."

Feng Yuan eyed the middle-aged man with suspicion, since information about the Divine Beasts was highly confidential during the Dynasty Era. If it was one of the five spirits of the Divine Land Region that often appeared, it would be easy to understand, but Lorraine Tower only became widely known in modern times since it hardly ever got involved in regional affairs.
