Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Wild Cookout_1

"Looks like we really can’t finish it all..."

Though everyone had tried their hardest to devour the food, looking at the two remaining layers of food on the plant tables, Qi Chen sighed and turned to Feng Yuan with a smug smile, who then said to Xiao Yu

"Why don’t you call your little friends over?"

"What do you want them to come over for?"

"Right! Have them help us eat it—that would be good!"

Xiao Yu, who had caught on, dashed down the mountain. Qi Chen wanted to tell Xiao Yu to be careful on the way, but before he could utter the words, Xiao Yu had already vanished from sight, leaving Qi Chen no choice but to give up with a sigh.

After a while, a group of chirping kids followed Xiao Yu up the mountain. Seeing Feng Yuan, the children quickly quieted down. Feng Yuan looked at the apprehensive kids and said with a smile

"I called you here to help us finish this food—I certainly don’t want it going to waste."

After assessing the situation and seeing that Feng Yuan wasn’t joking, the kids rushed forward, laughing, grabbing the food with their hands and stuffing it into their mouths, loudly recommending anything they liked to others. Amid the disorderly scene, Feng Yuan sat on a huge mushroom holding Xiao Ji, watching everything.

Feng Yuan, resting his head on Xiao Ji’s head, whispered

"Xiao Ji, do you want to go play with them?"

Xiao Ji shifted its head discontentedly and let out a sound before struggling out of Feng Yuan’s embrace and hopping down, while Pomiti perched on Feng Yuan’s head, looking curiously at the children.

After a long time, He Nanqing ran up the back mountain and, upon seeing the children eating, immediately scolded them before apologizing to Feng Yuan

"Sorry, the adults are just too busy, and the kids have gotten wild in the mountains..."

Feng Yuan waved his hand to interrupt He Nanqing and said

"You misunderstand them. I am the one who called them here, it’s just that we made too much food for lunch. But your timing is good, Qi Chen. Shall I copy that little notebook you recorded for her?"

With some puzzlement, Qi Chen took out a small notebook and handed it to Feng Yuan, saying

"You need a copy? It’s no use to me anyway."

Feng Yuan took the notebook and lightly tapped it on the black Ancient Book, and an identical copy of the notebook fell out from underneath it. The Agunas shadow rolled its eyes; it didn’t know what to say to Feng Yuan. It could easily have produced a note backup for him, but he insisted on using the book to make a copy.

Feng Yuan handed one notebook to each, Qi Chen and He Nanqing, and said

"That notebook lists the valuable plants on the back mountain as well as those that can be used as high-quality food ingredients."

After taking a quick glance at it, He Nanqing bowed to Feng Yuan and said sincerely

"Thank you very much, this is a huge help to us."

Feng Yuan looked around and continued

"Basically, these are all that can be currently found. There might be even more hidden treasures, but you will have to discover them yourselves, as I won’t be staying here much longer."

"Here’s an idea, I’ll make a book list for you when I get back. When you have time, you can go and have a look. If I remember correctly, the Grand Library should have them all, but I’m not sure about the City Library—it might not be complete."

Hearing the mention of a book list, Qi Chen went pale, having been duped by Feng Yuan’s book list before. Although there were only a few titles, he couldn’t find any of them in the City Library and only realized why when he went to the Grand Library.

Because those books were all part of a series. Even though they shared a common title, each series contained at least twenty-seven books. That book list had taken him half a year to get through.

After a while, He Nanqing prepared to go back down the mountain as she still had many things to take care of. She had only rushed over because she had heard the children suddenly running up the back mountain and was worried they might encounter some danger.

"You’ve all eaten your fill, now come back with me."

"Won’t you let them stay and play a little longer? We don’t mind."

After looking at Feng Yuan, He Nanqing said helplessly

"It’s not about bothering you all. It’s just that the village is short on hands right now, and they need to help."

Seeing the children obediently following He Nanqing down the mountain, Feng Yuan shook his head with a smile and started to clean up. Xiao Yu didn’t just stand by watching but took the initiative to help. Feng Yuan wasn’t surprised by Xiao Yu’s actions.

After all, if He Nanqing had left Xiao Yu here without any instructions, it meant that she must have understood what had to be done. Qi Xiaoshuang, who was amusing Pomiti, felt embarrassed upon seeing only the two children tidying up and, pulling Qi Chen along, went forward to help. Dou Yanlan carefully placed Cotton on the Big Mushroom before also stepping up to assist.

Cotton crawled onto the Big Mushroom, occasionally poking its head out to look at the ground, noting the muddiness. It shook its paws, flicked its tail, and then retracted again, only to repeat the action after a while.

The Dreaming Dragon Baby clutched at a plate, imitating the others’ movements to try cleaning it, but for some reason, whether it was because its claws couldn’t grip the plate securely or something else, the plates kept flying out of its grasp and shattering on the ground. After noticing the Dreaming Dragon Baby had broken several plates in a row, Feng Yuan could only reluctantly shoo it away.

"Where are you all off to play this time?"

"What? You’re coming with us?"

Yang Hongzhi looked at Feng Yuan somewhat strangely, then nodded as Feng Yuan said,

"We’ve basically finished all the inspections, so now it’s time for some happy rest. Don’t tell me you plan to enjoy a delightful world of just you and Najia?"

"Do you act like I don’t exist..."

Qi Xiaoshuang looked at Feng Yuan speechlessly, and with a glance at Qi Xiaoshuang, Feng Yuan said in a provocative tone,

"Third wheel."

Holding his forehead, Yang Hongzhi said with some helplessness,

"We’re just planning to go over there to see what the Tian Ci statue looks like. Besides, I’m not one of those deranged fellows who won’t hesitate to harm a Spirit Beast."

Feng Yuan watched Yang Hongzhi with a mischievous grin and said,

"Love knows no species, let alone—ow!"

Massaging his forehead, Feng Yuan glanced at Najia, who had just used telekinesis to hurl a stone at him, cutting off his speech. Seeing Najia’s warning look, Feng Yuan said resignedly,

"Fine, I won’t say it, so stingy."

Najia looked at Feng Yuan somewhat helplessly. It had noticed that Feng Yuan had become a bit mischievous since shrinking. Turning its head toward the specter of Agunas, Najia made some sounds as if trying to say something. After a while, Agunas’s specter glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

"Give him some time to recover, and he should start acting more properly, probably..."

"As for reining him in...just treat him like a naughty child for now. We can talk more if he gets too out of hand..."

Najia, somewhat helplessly, called out a few times to Agunas’s specter, then leaned against Yang Hongzhi with a bit of a headache after looking at Feng Yuan again.

Feng Yuan glared at the specter of Agunas in dissatisfaction and said,

"What do you mean by reining me in? Do you think you have the strength to?"

Glancing at Feng Yuan, the specter of Agunas said calmly,

"That’s why I said I’m not dealing with you. As for going too far, I trust you’ll reflect on it yourself, right?"

Qi Chen asked Yang Hongzhi with an incredulous look,

"It shouldn’t be a problem for us to follow you, right?"

"No problem, and actually, having her as a guide might even be better."

"After all, I heard about this statue from her."

Seeing Yang Hongzhi pointing at her, Xiao Ji raised her head proudly, her chest puffed up. Feng Yuan, curious, asked,

"Which Divine Beast came up with the Tian Ci statue?"

Xiao Ji, who had just been beaming with pride, suddenly looked sheepish and after a moment said with little confidence,

"Maybe it was some fox-like Divine Beast."

"A fox-like Divine Beast?"

Feng Yuan and the specter of Agunas both said with puzzled expressions. Qi Chen asked Feng Yuan somewhat curiously,

"What? Is there a problem?"

Feng Yuan propped his chin with one hand and said, puzzled,

"Of course there’s a problem. To my knowledge, the Divine Land Region doesn’t have fox-like Divine Beasts. While other regions do have them, they’re too far from the Divine Land Region. It’s unlikely they would come here."
