Chapter 1383: Chapter 1384: An Unexpected Event
"What’s up with Agunas?"
Long Boduo looked at Feng Yuan puzzled and asked. Just as they finished eating and were about to continue having fun, Agunas suddenly said it had something to do and left abruptly. It felt that Agunas’s behavior was strange. Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said,
"Not sure, but it should be nothing serious. Otherwise, it would have told us."
"What’s wrong?"
Just then, Veronia and Belusir walked over. Hearing Feng Yuan’s words, they were a bit confused. Who was in trouble? Seeing them, Long Boduo spoke up,
"Agunas, for some unknown reason, seems strange. But where did you two just go?"
"We were resting over there. Now that you mention it, I just noticed there are several islands nearby."
Pointing to the area of the reefs where they had been, Veronia recalled something and told Feng Yuan. Looking at the sea, Feng Yuan was stunned: there was no sign of any islands on the vast sea. Was Veronia speaking the truth?
"I’m not interested in tricking you. What, don’t you believe me?"
"Those islands seem to be hidden by the forces of wind and water, and you wouldn’t notice them unless you get closer. They seem pretty interesting."
Belusir explained with a smile. Scratching his head, Feng Yuan looked at the distant sea and said,
"Then, shall we check them out tomorrow?"
"We can’t guarantee they’re absolutely fun, just thought they might be interesting, so I’m letting you know."
Although she said so, Veronia seemed to know something about the islands. Belusir chuckled softly and looked around, somewhat confused, and said,
"Where’s Agunas? It seems like it’s not around."
"It—it seemed strange and didn’t know what it was up to. Earlier, it seemed like it was looking for you two."
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said he indeed had no idea what was going on with Agunas. Just then, Agunas returned, saw Veronia, and said,
"You’re back? Just in time, come with me."
"Where are you going?"
Looking at Agunas in confusion, Veronia didn’t quite understand what it was doing. Hugging Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan flashed a mysterious smile at Agunas and said,
"I wonder... if I can go have a look... see if I can help with anything~"
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Agunas flicked its tail and said,
"Feel free, we’re heading to Victory Fountain Square."
"What for?"
Although Agunas seemed strange, Veronia didn’t directly oppose it. She just didn’t understand what was with Agunas. Seeing Veronia looking at her, Belusir shook her head, indicating she was powerless. Agunas was a Divine Beast, and a Time Divine Beast at that. She had no way to peer into Agunas’s fate.
Not quite understanding what Agunas was up to, Veronia still changed her clothes and followed Agunas out. After a moment of hesitation, Feng Yuan told Qi Chen and the others before he followed. As he proceeded with Agunas, Feng Yuan observed the surrounding buildings with curiosity.
This place doesn’t seem like Victory Fountain Square. However, soon enough, Agunas led everyone to a courtyard. The courtyard was surrounded by tall shrubs, preventing one from seeing inside. The flowers climbing the shrubs were blooming profusely. Agunas hesitated for a bit, landed on the ground, and transformed into the appearance of a white-haired boy, startling everyone.
With his head down, Agunas pushed the door open and said,
"I brought it here. Is there anything else you need to ask?"
Aoer, who was meticulously examining a photograph, heard Agunas’s voice and looked toward the door. Seeing so many people standing there, he was momentarily stunned, but quickly recognized the two women in the photo. Naturally, with Agunas explaining, he knew that both were Divine Beasts.
"This is...?"
Veronia noticed the photo in front of Aoer and was stunned. Wasn’t this the photo she wanted to make a rock painting of? How was there a copy here?
Seeing Veronia step forward, Aoer laughed heartily and recounted the matter of Agunas seeking him out. Only then did Veronia and the others realize that the person before them was the one they initially tried to find. It was unexpected that he wasn’t the old man but rather him.
As for how Agunas recognized him, they weren’t surprised at all. Aoer wasn’t strong enough to hide his information in the annals. For Agunas and Feng Yuan, this information was something they could freely access and review.
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said speechlessly,
"I didn’t expect such a thing. I would’ve checked first if I’d known. But Agunas, how did you know you had to find him?"
If Agunas hadn’t known from the start that only he among those five craftsmen could act, Feng Yuan wouldn’t believe that Agunas would seek him out directly. Judging from what the other party said, Agunas probably came to find someone during the time they had just left for a meal.
Turning his head, Agunas said quietly,
"If I hadn’t happened to see it while checking the materials, I wouldn’t bother. Regarding your rock painting, he still has many details to inquire about."
"Indeed, if the task were simply to turn that photo into a rock painting, it wouldn’t be so troublesome. But I don’t want to make a half-baked product. You’ll have to provide a lot of specific information yourself."
Hearing Agunas’s words, Aoer adopted a serious tone. He seemed like a different person now. Feng Yuan wasn’t surprised at this seriousness. But that’s fine; at least Veronia’s rock painting would leave no regrets.
Belusir stood quietly beside Veronia, watching as she and Aoer discussed and confirmed the various details of the rock painting. Feng Yuan and Long Boduo pulled Agunas aside. With a mischievous smile, Feng Yuan examined the white-haired boy Agunas and said,
"Tsk, I didn’t expect your human form to look like that. You actually look about the same age as Long Boduo."
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Agunas said expressionlessly,
"Any objections?"
"Didn’t you say you wouldn’t use a human form? Why the sudden change?"
Long Boduo slapped Agunas on the shoulder and asked curiously. The other side scanned Long Boduo, then stepped back a few steps and said,
"Otherwise, he wouldn’t open the door."
"They’re very wary of unknown Spirit Beasts."
Hearing Agunas’s words, Feng Yuan scratched his head, staring at Aoer, who was still chatting with Veronia. This was unexpected, but he didn’t doubt Agunas’s words much. Agunas wasn’t one to joke like that, and judging by its current demeanor, it clearly wasn’t comfortable with a human form. If it weren’t truly necessary, he believed Agunas wouldn’t have done this.
"This is because there’s a group of particularly mischievous Ghost Series Spirit Beasts around Wilt Bay. They love disguising themselves as all sorts of strange Spirit Beast forms to scare people, so..."
"Would you like to try some?"
A girl, holding a plate of desserts, smiled and offered it to Feng Yuan and the others. Scratching his head, Feng Yuan remembered something and said to Long Boduo,
"The mischievous Ghost Series Spirit Beasts, aren’t they under your control?"
"How could that be? Those Ghost Series Spirit Beasts have nothing to do with me. I don’t have the Authority to manage Ghost Series Spirit Beasts. But mischief? That sounds quite interesting."
Long Boduo said, quietly noting down Wilt Bay. Now was certainly not the time to do such things while out with Feng Yuan. But it did sound quite fun to come back and play later on~
Seeing Long Boduo’s eyes light up, as if she discovered something interesting, Feng Yuan scratched his head, feeling like he might have done something wrong. But oh well, he thought Long Boduo should know her limits. At most, those Ghost Series Spirit Beasts would just create more chaos.
"I didn’t expect Veronia’s rock painting to be settled properly. I thought we’d have to find time to come back later."
Watching Veronia engage with Aoer, Feng Yuan smiled and said, Agunas looked at the flowers on the shrubs and replied,
"If she didn’t have such high demands, it wouldn’t have been so troublesome."
Neither Feng Yuan nor Qi Chen had complex requirements for their rock paintings. Unlike Veronia, who had a whole set of demands, she couldn’t just choose any ordinary craftsman for the task. Hearing Agunas’s words, Feng Yuan glimpsed at Veronia and shook his head,
"Isn’t that just like her? Always striving for the best, and if it’s too far off, she’d rather do without."
"You really know her well."
"You’re the same."
Looking at the white-haired boy Agunas, Feng Yuan chuckled softly.
