Chapter 1366: Chapter 1367: Deeper Puzzlement

"This probably isn’t a design diagram, just a structural sketch, but why is it placed here?"

Feng Yuan said while scrutinizing the stone platform before him, puzzled. The structural sketch was deeply carved into the stone slab, enduring through the years without being eroded away. Under normal circumstances, would there be any necessity to do this?

Dou Yanlan examined the structural sketch with curiosity and said,

"Was this really something that could be made in the early Dynasty Era?"

"This was widely used during the Mythical Era, so it’s not surprising to find it here."

Veronia wasn’t surprised at this, since the early Dynasty Era wasn’t the beginning of time—before it, the Mythical Era existed. However, she couldn’t say for sure how much survived, particularly because there was a Clan Age between the Mythical and Dynasty eras.

"The early Dynasty Era primarily borrowed extensively from the cultural traces left by the Mythical Era, only gradually developing its distinct civilization by the mid-Dynasty Era. Otherwise, wouldn’t you find it odd? The transition between the Clan Age and the Dynasty Era was quite unnatural."

While examining the diagram, Feng Yuan remarked that the civilization of the early Dynasty Era seemed to emerge abruptly, as if suddenly leaping from the Clan Age into a sophisticated Dynasty with civilization. This perplexed historians, though Feng Yuan had researched that period and knew it was merely the influence of the Mythical Era.

"These ruins are very peculiar. It’s possible that the magma existed during their construction, but how did they build it back then?"

Looking around with wonder, Feng Yuan said, and Agunas, caught off guard, turned to Feng Yuan and asked,

"Is it really like this?"

"You will find out at the Energy Hub. If correct, there, they should be directly extracting Fire Power from the magma and converting it into other attributes to maintain the operation of these ruins."

Turning to Agunas, Feng Yuan said,

"You should know what this implies."

"Did they create this volcano?!"

Agunas said angrily, but Feng Yuan shook his head and replied,

"Not necessarily; I’m not very certain about it. Perhaps their intentions were good?"

"Does this ruin affect the Earth’s Energy circulation?"

Nearby, Long Boduo pressed further. It was something he was particularly concerned about; if it indeed affected Earth’s Energy circulation, it might mean dealing with these ruins.

Glaring at Long Boduo, Feng Yuan replied irritably,

"I don’t know how I could possibly tell if this thing affects Earth’s Energy circulation. If it weren’t labeled above, I wouldn’t even know which was the Energy Hub, let alone what the different areas were meant for."

"How did you recognize those texts?"

Dou Yanlan asked, perplexed, looking at Feng Yuan. She had looked at the diagram as well but couldn’t figure out what the texts meant, which wasn’t surprising. These were texts from a certain dynasty in the early Dynasty Era that might not have circulated from the start, let alone being known to the world.

Chuckling, Feng Yuan proudly said,

"Pretty impressive, right~"

Wagging his tail, Agunas remarked,

"A language master?"

"Of course not. Though that thing can be used for recognizing characters, I’m not using it. I’m just doing live translation."

"You really know how to use..."

Seeing Feng Yuan’s proud expression, Agunas said, speechless. That’s probably not what it was intended for, right? This guy sure misuses things.

"These Magic Patterns are quite different from those I know from the Mythical Era, though perhaps that’s expected. I didn’t delve much into this area back then."

Observing the Magic Patterns, Veronia said with curiosity. If these did inherit from the Mythical Era, she thought she could tell. But maybe not, as back then Mitradite was just one of the large territories, while the Omeilia Region corresponded to another large territory, whose Magic Pattern technology Veronia likely hadn’t seen.

"I don’t know, but this stuff is really complicated."

Glancing at the Magic Patterns on the sides, Feng Yuan said. Perhaps due to proximity to the Energy Hub, these patterns were extremely dense, and even he couldn’t sort them out in a short time. Xiao Ji curiously examined these Magic Patterns, sensing the intricate forces within—many different series of forces.

Inside a huge spherical hall, Feng Yuan and others saw the Energy Hub of the ruins; the giant light sphere was continuously converting collected Fire Power. However, this Fire Power was far more violent than the magma. Stroking his chin, Feng Yuan observed the surroundings and said,

"This Energy Hub... is quite strange, it doesn’t seem like something people from that time would be able to build."

The wall’s dense Magic Patterns didn’t just provide basic functions but had numerous contingency measures. Feng Yuan scrutinized them for a while, noticing these patterns could endure more than eighty percent loss and still maintain their original functions. Such intricate design left Feng Yuan questioning who exactly created it.

Not just the Dynasty Era, even the modern Omeilia Region doesn’t have many people capable of producing such designs. Although this might be something only he understood, others like Qi Chen and Agunas weren’t very knowledgeable on the subject, and Belusir looked at the Magic Patterns with puzzlement and asked,

"Why can’t these things trace the trajectory of fate?"

"Too old a time? That can’t be right, your fate-seeing shouldn’t be restricted by initial time constraints. As long as it exists now, you should be able to see its destiny. Never mind, according to the names above, other parts of the ruins might be those device areas.

But I don’t quite know what those devices are, as the areas are marked solely by numbers."

Feng Yuan said with some helplessness. If they wrote terms like collecting or converting, he might guess the function of those devices, but with just numbers, that would be quite unlikely.

"Should we explore each area individually or?"

Turning to Agunas, Feng Yuan asked, and the latter flicked his tail and said,

"Visit them all. If possible, dismantle those devices."

"That might be difficult, as those devices are all interconnected here. Though this is just a coordination area, I suspect..."

Shaking his head, Feng Yuan said. He felt that these ruins weren’t quite right, and it might not be as Agunas thought. However, he himself wasn’t absolutely sure either. Xiao Ji leaned forward and nudged Feng Yuan, blinking at him. Stroking Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan said amusedly,

"What do you want to do now?"

Xiao Ji spread its wings and pointed at a nearby round stone door. The stone door was engraved with numerous Magic Texts. Seeing this, Feng Yuan frowned slightly, sensing spatial fluctuations from it—could this be a Space Gate?

"This thing... let’s see."

Approaching, Feng Yuan carefully examined the stone door. Agunas hovered to a nearby stone platform and said,

"This thing is odd. What’s this panel for?"

"It’s indeed a portal. Just strange, this type of portal..."

Gazing at the circular stone door, Feng Yuan showed a weird expression. How did they manage to create something like this? A stable Space Gate—it’s almost unheard of even in modern times, let alone the Dynasty Era. As far as he knew, Great Xia used Space-attribute Spirit Beasts to set up Space Gates for spatial movement, generally not employing Space Gate devices. Perhaps it was related to distance, but did early Dynasty Era humans really possess this capability?

Despite his doubts, Feng Yuan activated the Space Gate, and a blue glow flashed as the Space Gate quickly gathered power, forming a water-like curtain and projecting the scene opposite. Seeing the room covered in Magic Patterns, Feng Yuan confirmed the Space Gate was operating normally.

For safety, he looked at Agunas and asked,

"Is there any issue with this Space Gate?"

"For now, it seems quite stable, with no risk of sudden collapse. But if for safety, they could stay here."

Agunas glanced at Najia and said, Long Boduo might just go for fun, but Najia probably wouldn’t. As expected, Najia spoke up,

"I’ll stay here to protect them; I won’t be joining your expedition."
