Chapter 1337 - 1338: Stay Overnight

Chapter 1337: Chapter 1338: Stay Overnight

"What a pity."

Surveying the luxurious manor, Feng Yuan remarked regretfully. If Anna and her people hadn’t abandoned this place, they could’ve enjoyed the snow mountain hot springs experience here.

Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

"What’s there to be sorry about?"

"Heh, you don’t get it. If this place were still running, don’t you think soaking in hot springs at a time like this would be fun? Don’t you agree?"

A little ice flower, which had unknowingly followed Feng Yuan and the others outside, glanced at Feng Yuan with confusion, seemingly not quite understanding what he meant. Agunas swished his tail and said,

"Are you joking? Hot springs in weather like this?"

Peering out at the raging snowstorm, Agunas gave Feng Yuan an incredulous look. Was he serious? Qi Chen, also gazing at the snowstorm, asked worriedly,

"The snow is so heavy... the others, they should be fine, right?"

"At this time of year, it’s rare to see people coming to Honite Snow Mountain, and those able to pass the checkpoint should have enough strength to handle such extreme weather."

Supporting her chin with one hand, Dou Yanlan said this nonchalantly. As for those who bypass the checkpoint? Well, they’d only have themselves to blame if things went south. Still, she hadn’t expected to encounter such weather atop Honite Snow Mountain during the midsummer season.

Yang Hongzhi glanced at Najia with bewilderment and asked,

"Isn’t this weather a bit unusual? This place—does such weather really occur here?"

Closing his eyes to sense the surroundings carefully, Najia shook his head and explained,

"It’s not exactly natural weather, but it is still a natural phenomenon. The energy currents in this area are somewhat unusual. The interplay of water and wind attributes here has resulted in this snowstorm."

Looking toward Feng Yuan, Najia said,

"This snowstorm will likely be hard to stop with an ultimate move."

"True, but it shouldn’t last too long. Just be patient. If there’s no other choice, traveling in the snowstorm isn’t that big of a deal."

Holding Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan gazed at the snowstorm as he spoke. Xiao Ji flicked its tail feathers and looked up at Feng Yuan quizzically. Qi Chen, exasperated, remarked,

"There’s no need to rush things that much. Is it really safe?"

"No big deal—I can shield all of you~"

Long Boduo boasted confidently. Agunas cast a glance at Long Boduo and said,

"Are you sure? Not many of your ultimate moves are suited for protecting others."

Though he didn’t know all the details about Long Boduo, Agunas was well aware that he was an attack-focused Divine Beast. Turning her parasol lightly, Veronia chimed in,

"Leave it to me. I happen to have several ultimate moves perfect for this~"

"There’s no immediate need for that. How about we clean out a guest room first? I doubt she’d mind us staying here overnight."

Feng Yuan said, glancing at Veronia. Considering his words, Dou Yanlan suggested,

"Why not just tidy up the hall and use sleeping bags? The guest rooms don’t serve much purpose."

After all, the manor had been abandoned for quite some time. If the rooms were still fit for occupancy, that would actually be strange. Besides, they hadn’t brought any bedding. Even if they cleaned up a guest room, there’d be no way to use it.

"Can’t we sleep in the beds? Even if the blankets are unusable, I brought two spare sets~"

Feng Yuan said smugly, looking over at Kong Qing. Agunas swished his tail in exasperation, unsure how to even begin responding. This guy always stuffed all sorts of odd things into Kong Qing’s spatial storage.

"Not enough. Look at how many people we have."

Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan as she spoke. It wasn’t until then that he realized the problem. Other than himself, there were three people excluding the human-shaped Divine Beasts. And if Long Boduo also intended to rest in human form, things were only going to get trickier.

Scratching his head, Feng Yuan laughed awkwardly and said,

"I guess you’re right... So, what now? Clean up the hall?"

"If there are spare bedding supplies, we could clean out a guest room. But are you sure you don’t want to consult her first?"

Turning to look at Feng Yuan, Veronia asked. Scratching his head again, Feng Yuan replied,

"Then... how about the activity room? It’s probably better than the hall."

Though the hall was spacious, it hadn’t been designed with much consideration for insulation. Even with the doors and windows tightly shut, cold winds could still be felt sweeping through. In contrast, while the activity room was smaller, it wasn’t much smaller, and it was relatively warmer. It was also spacious enough for Yang Hongzhi to let Xiao Hui out.

Hearing Feng Yuan’s suggestion, Dou Yanlan pondered for a moment, then looked to Qi Chen and said,

"I think it’s a good idea."

"That place should do. Let’s stay there tonight."

Yang Hongzhi nodded in agreement. At this point, no one was eager to suggest braving the heavy snow to continue the journey. Not only was it unnecessary, but it would also be exceptionally troublesome—unless everyone possessed the strength of someone like Long Boduo. Otherwise, traveling through a snowstorm was no ordinary feat.

"So, clean up the activity room, huh? Let me think about which ultimate moves I have..."

"Just start cleaning already. Forget about the ultimate moves."

Feng Yuan said helplessly after giving Long Boduo a glance. Using Ghost Series ultimate moves for cleaning? Who knew what might happen? They might end up hosting ghosts in the activity room instead.

"Come on, I really think using ultimate moves would be faster."

Long Boduo, unwilling to give up, muttered. Even Veronia didn’t bother responding to him this time. Joking aside, no one wanted any strange things floating around while they tried to rest.

Despite Feng Yuan saying there was no need to ask, Dou Yanlan still went to inform Anna. Anna, seemingly stuck in her own thoughts, sat at a desk looking troubled. Hearing Dou Yanlan’s request, she readily agreed without much consideration. However, she later remembered and hastily sent Keter to ask Queen Hua Xiao to prepare some hot drinks for them.

As for sleeping supplies? The manor had been abandoned too long for her to find anything suitable for guests. And with the snowstorm raging outside, it wasn’t practical for Keter to go down the mountain to shop.

While Feng Yuan and the others were cleaning the activity room, Keter simply placed the hot drinks on a nearby table in the hallway. Entering to inform Feng Yuan and his group, he quickly left. Agunas swished his tail and teased,

"Surprised you didn’t rush over to guzzle it all down."

"You make it sound like I’m such a glutton. I’m not even thirsty right now."

Rolling his eyes at Agunas, Feng Yuan continued to control the black wind to gather the floating dust. Even though they were only staying a day or two, having dust everywhere wasn’t comfortable, right? Since they already had the owner’s permission, cleaning was no issue.

Curious, Long Boduo asked Belusir,

"Do you think Anna was telling the whole truth?"

"What’s off about it?"

Belusir, focused on carefully cleaning the dust, glanced at Long Boduo in confusion, not understanding his concern. Veronia glanced at Long Boduo and said,

"Do you think her two Legendary Spirit Beasts would really need to deceive us?"

"Well... what if she’s scheming something?"

Scratching his head, Long Boduo grumbled stubbornly. Belusir chuckled lightly and replied,

"She is indeed the mistress of this manor, and what she said isn’t false. I glimpsed her identity through fate—she belongs to Dantia’s Seventeen Nobles."

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

Long Boduo looked at Belusir in confusion. What were the Seventeen Nobles? What did that even entail? Veronia wasn’t surprised by Long Boduo’s reaction. He hadn’t interacted much with humans and naturally wouldn’t understand such matters. After a moment’s thought, Veronia asked Belusir,

"The Seventeen Nobles—are they the actual rulers of the Dantia Region?"

"Not exactly. Even if it were Drochkar, this isn’t the Dynasty Era anymore. Nobles today are more a symbol of heritage."

Shaking her head, Belusir replied while glancing around the activity room. In a wistful tone, she added,

"The investment in this manor is insignificant compared to her personal wealth. Let alone the fact that her husband is also one of the Seventeen Nobles."

Still, neither Long Boduo nor Veronia reacted much to her statement. What could they say? Long Boduo simply couldn’t comprehend such matters, and Veronia? Ha, the luxuries she had enjoyed made even the Seventeen Nobles of Dantia seem insignificant by comparison.

It was only Belusir, with her long history of mingling with ordinary humans, who seemed to find significance in this. At that moment, Agunas glanced at Belusir and remarked,

"This might surprise them—but as for Long Boduo and the others... I doubt they can fully grasp it."
