Chapter 1328: Chapter 1329: Heading to the Snowy Mountain
The lively party ended, and Feng Yuan initially planned to ask Veronia and the others to help clean up, but he discovered that most of the items had already been handled by the party attendees. All that was left for them was to tidy up the cooking utensils.
After all, the tableware was borrowed from the park facility. Otherwise, the tableware in Kong Qing Space wouldn’t have been nearly enough.
"Phew~ I thought it would be much more troublesome~ Looks like it’s not so bad~"
With a smile, Feng Yuan said. Veronia glanced at him and remarked,
"You didn’t even consider the cleanup at the beginning?"
"Haha~ It’s not that big of a hassle anyway~ It’s fine~"
Rubbing his head, Feng Yuan chuckled as he began organizing the items. After the party, Feng Yuan and his group grew closer with the others. Following their battles, they began sharing insights and played together in the battle park for a week before moving on.
Xiao Ji was still a bit reluctant, as its battle techniques continued improving, and fighting alongside Feng Yuan daily became an experience it both enjoyed and adored.
"We can come back again next time if there’s an opportunity~"
Feng Yuan said as he patted Xiao Ji’s head with a smile. Veronia glanced at her phone and said,
"If we’re heading to the Snowy Mountain, we’ll need to hurry. The next train departs at noon; if we miss it, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s morning train."
"Alright, let’s get going~"
With a glance at Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan led the group as they rushed towards the nearest town. Agunas flicked its tail but said nothing.
At the town’s train station, many people of similar age to Feng Yuan and his group were waiting patiently for their respective trains, carrying large travel bags alongside their Spirit Beasts. Looking around, Feng Yuan exclaimed in surprise,
"I hadn’t noticed before—there’s actually so many people similar to us here~"
"Not quite. We’re traveling, while they are primarily seeking opportunities to train their Beastmaster skills."
Dou Yanlan surveyed the people around them and explained. Though the Omeilia Region had academy entrance exams, there were many individuals who didn’t participate in the exams and chose instead to roam and hone their skills. The government in the Omeilia Region did not neglect these individuals.
Each area’s academy has dedicated service facilities designed for certified novice Beastmasters. While service fees are required, for roaming novice Beastmasters, the affordable charge is far outweighed by the critical help they receive.
Through these service facilities, novice Beastmasters could resolve the majority of problems they encountered. Some promising novices might even be recruited into respective academies.
This was one of the key purposes of these service facilities. If it didn’t benefit the academies, such facilities wouldn’t be able to sustain themselves for long.
However, not all regions were willing to adopt Omeilia’s approach. Beastmasters who hadn’t undergone academy training faced high risks while roaming in the wild.
Of course, Beastmasters who managed to rise in the face of such adversity often showcased strength far surpassing those trained in academies.
"The Wanderers, huh? Truly, they are bold."
Scratching Xiao Ji’s neck, Feng Yuan commented. Xiao Ji nuzzled Feng Yuan, seemingly intrigued by the topic. Feng Yuan lightly tapped Xiao Ji’s forehead with a laugh and said,
"Don’t make trouble. Spending every day in barren wilderness looking for opportunities to train—it’s so boring. It’s better to meet people in the academy and go on adventures together~"
Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan helplessly and remarked,
"Only you would dare say that."
After all, with several Divine Beasts accompanying Feng Yuan, his roaming wouldn’t pose much danger. Threats to Divine Beasts were rare in the wild.
"Haha~ The train’s here~"
Rubbing his head, Feng Yuan grinned brightly as the train pulled into the station. After confirming it was their train, the group promptly boarded after validating their tickets.
Noticing the sparsely occupied train carriage, Feng Yuan remarked in surprise,
"Why does it seem like there’s barely anyone on the train?"
While putting away the luggage, Qi Chen explained,
"Probably because not many people head to the Snowy Mountain at this time of year."
After all, it’s currently summer. While the Snowy Mountain is covered in snow year-round, summer is its most dangerous season. Blizzards could still be dealt with, as the mountain’s size wasn’t extreme. Escaping from sudden blizzards was still manageable in most cases.
The bigger issue was summer avalanches. Unless you had extremely high skills, the only way to escape would be using a flying Spirit Beast. However, how many rookies have a first Beast capable of carrying a human in flight?
Take Xiao Ji, for instance—despite its proficiency, even it couldn’t carry someone in the air yet. Of course, that’s partly because Xiao Ji doesn’t possess Wind Attribute powers. Some of the Wind Attribute’s ultimate moves have abilities for carrying people during flight.
But those moves require a certain strength level. That’s why rookie Beastmasters generally steer clear of the Snowy Mountain during summer. They’re here to train, not court disaster.
"Due to lack of strength? If there’s an avalanche, Agunas and the others should be able to handle it. We’ll just need to stick together."
Feng Yuan said, glancing at Agunas. Yang Hongzhi didn’t object; though he was strong, he wasn’t keen on testing his limits against an avalanche.
As Feng Yuan and the group discussed avalanches while mentioning the Snowy Mountain, a passing train attendant couldn’t help but warn,
"It’s better not to keep talking about such things. They say that bad things happen when spoken of too often."
"Huh? Oh, this—it shouldn’t actually happen, right?"
Feng Yuan paused momentarily before glancing at the quietly reading Belusir beside him. Belusir briefly looked up at Feng Yuan and replied,
"It’s true. I’ve indeed witnessed destinies altered by intentions. But for you, it probably makes no difference."
Whether it was an avalanche or something else, neither Agunas nor Feng Yuan would struggle to deal with it. After all, it was just a natural disaster and not a major threat to them.
"Well..."
"Forget it. Even if nothing happens, it won’t make for a pleasant memory."
Qi Chen replied, glancing at Feng Yuan. Long Boduo, however, seemed intrigued and said,
"But it sounds like it could be fun~"
"Don’t deliberately cause avalanches—endangering innocent lives is not amusing."
Agunas warned after glancing at Long Boduo, genuinely concerned that Long Boduo might trigger an avalanche for fun. It wouldn’t matter to their group, but others could be affected. Faced with Agunas’s stern demeanor, Long Boduo shrank back and said,
"Got it, I won’t do that. But isn’t it said that summer naturally brings a higher chance of avalanches?"
"At least, for now, fate shows no signs of such incidents."
Belusir stated after briefly observing Feng Yuan’s party. Despite his promise to Feng Yuan not to spy overtly, glimpses of partial future occurrences were no trouble—similar to Agunas occasionally peering into slivers of the future.
"Isn’t that great? I wonder if we’ll find anything interesting on the Snowy Mountain."
"What are you plotting now?"
Agunas asked, somewhat exasperated at Feng Yuan’s knack for seeking treasures wherever they went. With a cheeky laugh, Feng Yuan replied,
"Of course, I’m going to collect Spiritual Medicine and Materials. While it’s likely the Snowy Mountain’s resources will mostly have Water Attributes, there might be other Attribute materials too~"
"Ah Mu is Wood Attribute, Cotton is Mystic Series—are you certain anything suitable will be found?"
Agunas replied, glancing at Feng Yuan. As for Yang Hongzhi’s Xiao Hei and Xiao Hui? That was Najia’s concern. However, the most likely match might be something for Xiao Hui.
Xiao Hei, a Fire Attribute Spirit Beast, on the Snowy Mountain? It seemed unlikely to find suitable resources—unless the mountain had a hidden volcano. But could that even be possible?
The train continued its journey towards its destination—its terminus being the Snowy Mountain. That explained the sparse passengers onboard. As more people disembarked en route, the train grew increasingly empty.
Upon arrival, Feng Yuan stretched lazily and gazed at the distant Snowy Mountain, exclaiming,
"Haha~ I hope I can find something useful here~"
