Chapter 1313: Chapter 1314: Delian’s Night

"Thanks."

Just as Feng Yuan was showing Veronia and Belusir the gifts, the desserts Veronia had ordered for them arrived. Looking at the enticingly fragrant sweets, Feng Yuan said to Veronia, while Agunas cast a questioning glance at her without speaking.

When did she figure out everyone’s tastes? Agunas was a bit puzzled, but since it wasn’t a big deal, it decided not to inquire further.

While eating, Feng Yuan started discussing the upcoming itinerary with Veronia and the others. Due to a stroke of luck, they had won a tour to the perfume ingredient production site while purchasing perfumes at the shop. Although Dantia was teeming with flower fields, the perfume shop’s flower fields were special—carefully cultivated, distinctly different from the wild and natural ones.

"The perfume ingredient source, huh? Do you think they’ll let us pick some ingredients ourselves? Hmm..."

Veronia glanced at Agunas, seemingly considering whether to have it intervene. Though it was a Divine Beast, it wasn’t fond of stepping in directly. Noticing Veronia’s gaze, Agunas, knowing her well, flicked its tail and said,

"You don’t seriously intend to have me go talk to them, do you?"

"Not happening!"

With that, Agunas turned its back, swallowing a petal cake. Feng Yuan said,

"No need. You can buy them on-site, but hand-picking costs a lot more and isn’t freely allowed."

After all, it’s their sources of ingredients. If someone wrecked the flower fields without prior arrangements, like monkeys snatching corn, how could they still stay in business?

"That works."

Resting her head in one hand, Veronia stirred the Rainflower Coffee in her cup and remarked. The floral coffee tasted pretty good; maybe she should buy some before leaving, Veronia thought to herself. Too bad she didn’t have Little Crocodile’s long-range Space Gate—it would allow her to pop by anytime.

As for asking Little Crocodile for help? That seemed out of the question. It would only give him an excuse to mock her. Veronia considered herself far too clever for that.

"You don’t seem very interested?"

Dou Yanlan looked at Feng Yuan with puzzled concern. Given his typical behavior, wouldn’t this be the time to discuss some elaborate plan for harvesting ingredients with Veronia? Why did he seem unimpressed?

After glancing at Dou Yanlan, Feng Yuan replied,

"Those perfumes—just buying a ready-made one to gift is fine. As for making it by hand, who would I give it to?"

"That... seems fair."

Dou Yanlan froze for a moment as realization dawned—it was true Feng Yuan didn’t have anyone he could gift handmade perfume to. Not much use for it, especially since even Xiao Ji wasn’t all that fond of Feng Yuan’s sachets. Never mind perfume, whose scent was far stronger. Yet, seeing Feng Yuan buy several bottles saying they were for Gladys and the others, she began doubting his true intent.

"You could give it to me."

Veronia cast a playful glance at Feng Yuan, who met her gaze and retorted with feigned irritation,

"I’d rather not—I can’t figure out what you’d actually like, and aren’t you planning to make your own anyway?"

"Such heartlessness~"

Despite her words, Veronia was clearly joking, her face lit with an amused smile. Stroking Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan said,

"If you can’t handle it tomorrow, wait for us outside."

He had no idea what the aroma of the flower fields would be like, but given it was the origin of perfume ingredients, it was bound to be potent.

Looking up at Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji shook its head, snuggling into him. Agunas, too, cast a glance at Feng Yuan and said,

"Are you sure it can handle being apart from you?"

For training, maybe. But this wasn’t about training. Considering Xiao Ji’s reliance on Feng Yuan, it would never willingly leave his side.

Feng Yuan chuckled, gently patting Xiao Ji’s head: "Ah, you silly thing. Alright, but tell me if it becomes too much."

After having a so-called local specialty dinner at the hotel, Feng Yuan’s group headed back. Along the way, Feng Yuan and Long Boduo groused about how their "specialty meal" lacked any real uniqueness. Neither Qi Chen nor Agunas took notice of the two complainers.

Ignored by everyone else, the pair soon agreed to try some street snacks together. On the hotel’s circular corridor, Qi Chen approached Dou Yanlan, who was sitting on a bench, and asked,

"What’s wrong? You’ve seemed off since earlier."

"Do you think... Do you think I should forgive him? After all he’s done... yet I..."

"You’re still thinking about him?"

Qi Chen studied Dou Yanlan and sighed, stepping forward to embrace her, whispering near her ear,

"We said we’d sort this out once we’re back. Constantly thinking about it—this rare travel time will only go to waste."

"But... I’m scared. I’m scared he might suddenly show up before her. She’s only just recovered... I’m so worried."

Holding onto Qi Chen, Dou Yanlan spoke softly through sobs.

Qi Chen patted her back lightly without replying. He wasn’t the type to comfort others, nor did he know what to say to help her feel better. If Feng Yuan were here, things might be easier, he thought to himself.

"The fates of mortals... truly unfathomable."

Leaning against the railing, Veronia held her wineglass and spoke to Belusir in thought. Agunas shot Veronia a glance and retorted gruffly,

"You’re not a Divine Beast of fate—why are you pondering fate?"

"Hehe. Even if one cannot see it, can’t they still sense it? The fates shifted by him... by us, without realizing."

Speaking cryptically, Veronia looked to Belusir, who sighed and said,

"Yes, no matter how we change it, a perfect outcome is unattainable. In the past, perhaps I was too stubborn."

"It’s not too late now. What do you say—how about living together with me?"

With a faint smile, Veronia extended an invitation to Belusir, who shook its head and replied,

"No thanks. I want to travel this world alone. Sure, following you all might bring interesting encounters, but that’s not my life."

"True. You’re better suited to being around humans—sticking with me wouldn’t work anyway."

After a moment’s reflection, Veronia added,

"But if you ever need help, feel free to reach out."

Agunas flicked its tail without commenting. Seeing the change in Belusir’s demeanor brought it joy, and it found no issue with its decision to travel solo. After all, Belusir had already journeyed to many places and interacted with countless people, making it unlikely to fall prey to human deception.

At that moment, Agunas inexplicably thought of Nagna, who was guarded rather meticulously by Lorraine Tower. Such a situation might not be ideal in the long run.

"This fish grilled with flower petals is a disaster. Adding those petals completely altered the fish’s flavor—it’s uniqueness for the sake of being unique."

Looking at the grilled fish disdainfully, Feng Yuan commented. Long Boduo nodded in agreement, saying,

"The flower petal paste-filled pastry at least tasted better."

"Hmm, flower petals really aren’t suited for meat dishes. But after all those desserts and bread, I feel stuffed."

Reflecting on the foods he’d eaten, Feng Yuan remarked. Long Boduo pointed at a drink shop, suggesting,

"How about some flower tea?"

"Forget it. Judging by the aroma alone, it’s clearly made just for the floral scent—no comparison to genuine flower tea."

Sniffing the air, Feng Yuan dismissed the idea, glancing towards a nearby coffee shop, adding,

"If you want a drink, why not try that floral coffee? Veronia seems to like it."

"No way—I hate that bitter stuff."

Watching Feng Yuan and Long Boduo debating food, Big Cat fiddled idly with its phone. After all, it wasn’t as picky about food. Or perhaps Feng Yuan and Long Boduo’s combined fussiness had set the bar so high that initially enjoyable dishes now seemed mediocre once scrutinized.

With its tail stabilizing Pomiti on its head, Kong Qing glanced at the bounding Little Ice Cream and swiped it to the ground with its tail. Given the crowd, if Little Ice Cream kept running around, it might get lost—which would be a disaster Kong Qing wanted to avoid.

Little Ice Cream stood up and looked at Kong Qing with a hint of grievance. Kong Qing hissed something resembling a lesson while flicking its tail threateningly, making it clear that if reasoning didn’t work, consequences would follow. Seeing this, Little Ice Cream could only surrender and obediently perch on Big Cat’s head.
