Chapter 1305: Chapter 1306: Finished Amber Product
After completing the last mold, Feng Yuan handed it to Agunas and said,
"Thanks for waiting~"
"Thank you."
Holding the mold, Agunas floated toward the counter, choosing its favorite flowers. In truth, it had already decided on its pick during the long wait earlier. But now, it wanted to double-check for reassurance—it couldn’t possibly take every flower, after all.
"That one of yours should be ready by now. Let me see."
Picking up a small bamboo stick, Feng Yuan poked at the amber. A nearby clerk glanced at the time and said,
"It might need a bit more time. If you’re not in a rush, waiting a little longer would help prevent damage to the finer details before it’s fully set."
"A bit more waiting?"
Feng Yuan reached out to pat the head of the eager Xiao Ji, amused by its impatience. Xiao Ji nuzzled against Feng Yuan’s hand and chirped softly. Scratching its neck fondly, Feng Yuan looked at the rest of the group and suggested,
"Why don’t we check how everyone else’s things are coming along first?"
Although Feng Yuan was working quickly, he had a large number of molds to carve. At this point, even Qi Chen, who was usually the slowest, had finished and was waiting for his solution to set. Curious, Feng Yuan leaned over to examine the five molds Qi Chen had completed and commented,
"Not bad, you’ve already finished them."
"I don’t have your skills. The molds for Ponpon and the others were just adaptations of pre-made ones, so I’m not sure how they’ll turn out."
Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan, a bit shy as he spoke. He couldn’t carve molds as efficiently and intricately as Feng Yuan. Even making one for Ah Mu had been a challenge for him. Luckily, the shop already had molds of the Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts, which he could modify and use. Otherwise, he truly wouldn’t have known what to do.
As for the extra one... Qi Chen sneaked a glance at Dou Yanlan, his face flushing slightly. Feng Yuan noticed his small movements, rummaged through his pocket, then turned to see Big Cat staring intently at the mold in front of it. With a sigh, Feng Yuan murmured,
"You troublesome thing..."
Seeing Feng Yuan’s expression, Qi Chen immediately realized what he meant. With a hearty laugh, Feng Yuan, holding Xiao Ji, strolled over to Yang Hongzhi, inspecting his molds as he asked,
"Why not make one personally?"
"Isn’t this one personal?"
Pointing to a unique mold among the meteorite-themed ones, different from those provided by the shop, Yang Hongzhi responded with some embarrassment. With Najia as a comparison, his carving skills were lacking. As for Najia, while it didn’t understand carving, it could shape materials using Starry Heaven’s meteorites.
By directly shaping meteorites, it lost a touch of the energy and charm that came through carving. But Yang Hongzhi had no choice. Lacking such skills himself, he had to rely on this method.
"I thought you left everything to Najia~"
Feng Yuan chuckled before swiftly walking away with Xiao Ji in tow, leaving Yang Hongzhi to shake his head and laugh helplessly.
When Feng Yuan approached Dou Yanlan, who was feeding Cotton, she glanced at him with curiosity and asked,
"You’re already done?"
"Yeah. And you?"
Noticing the three molds in front of her, Feng Yuan looked puzzled. Dou Yanlan glanced at him and smiled slightly without responding. Scratching his head, Feng Yuan hesitated before saying,
"Almost forgot, but are we all going to spend the whole day here?"
"Definitely not. Gifts for extended family can just use standard molds."
Dou Yanlan shook her head as she spoke. Their circle of friends and relatives was quite large, and truly carving individual molds for everyone would take an entire day—more than even Feng Yuan could manage.
"It should be set now. How about opening it yourself?"
Feng Yuan slid the mold toward Xiao Ji, beaming with anticipation. Xiao Ji gave him a side-eye, flapped its wings in mild annoyance, and chirped indignantly. With its lack of telekinesis or human hands, opening the mold was impossible for it.
Feng Yuan chuckled, patted its head, and helped it carefully unmold the piece. Inside was an amber of Xiao Ji standing tall on a grassy patch, wings fully spread. The fiery red flower Xiao Ji had chosen was perfectly embedded in the grass below. Upon seeing the amber, Xiao Ji chirped joyfully.
Big Cat and the others began removing their molds one by one. Each amber, exquisitely crafted, elicited excitement—even from Pomiti. Kong Qing quietly snatched up its amber with its tail, tucking it away before the clumsy Pomiti could accidentally ram into it.
"It’s beautiful,"
Veronia remarked with satisfaction, gazing at the golden amber. Belusir carefully put away its amber, sneaking a glance around the room to ensure no one was paying attention before letting out a quiet sigh of relief.
"Hey~ Let me see how yours turned out~"
Feng Yuan suddenly spoke up behind Qi Chen, startling him. Without turning, Qi Chen responded flatly,
"Definitely not as refined as yours."
Feng Yuan examined an amber shaped like Ah Mu in its simple design and remarked with genuine surprise,
"This is pretty good! At least no one would mistake it for a big tree. You’re not experienced with carving, but pulling this off is already impressive!"
"Compared to you, there’s no competition."
Glancing at the intricate amber figurines Feng Yuan and Xiao Ji had made, Qi Chen sighed. Even though he had prepared himself for this outcome, seeing it firsthand still made him envious. Feng Yuan seemed capable of excelling at anything—how had he mastered so much?
"Haha, of course! Haven’t you noticed the molds in this shop can’t even compare to mine~"
Feng Yuan laughed proudly. The shop assistant nearby didn’t refute this; after all, what he said was true. The amber made with Feng Yuan’s molds was far more intricate and vibrant compared to the shop’s. His talent even drew attention from other customers, who glanced over curiously. Seeing the stunning amber pieces displayed by Xiao Ji and the others, they couldn’t help but inspect them in awe.
The delicacy of the amber was truly breathtaking, resembling a meticulously carved gemstone. It was hard to imagine how they had achieved such craftsmanship.
Of course, after marveling for a moment, the other customers returned to their work. Most believed that handmade gifts for their spirit beasts carried more heartfelt meaning. Store-bought items, no matter how stunning, always lacked a personal touch. This sentiment seemed to resonate with everyone present.
Najia floated over, holding its amber, and showed it off to Xiao Hui. Xiao Hei stared at its majestic amber figure, claws twitching with curiosity, wanting to poke it. Luckily, Yang Hongzhi stopped it just in time—he couldn’t be sure if Xiao Hei planned to lightly touch it or smack it with full force.
Though amber was durable, it clearly wouldn’t survive Xiao Hei’s strength. If it broke, it would be problematic. Xiao Hei whimpered in confusion, pawing at Yang Hongzhi, who helplessly tried to explain.
"Here, this is for you,"
Dou Yanlan said as she handed Feng Yuan an amber featuring a multi-layered prism design. Nearby, Qi Chen scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed—he’d been so busy making molds for Ah Mu and the others that he forgot about Feng Yuan. Then again, Feng Yuan had primarily focused on molds for their spirit beasts, which had influenced Qi Chen’s priorities as well.
"This is... specifically for me?"
Feng Yuan accepted the amber, stealing a glance at Qi Chen before looking back at Dou Yanlan. She chuckled softly and handed another amber to Qi Chen, saying,
"Don’t worry. How could I forget him? It might not be very well-made, so please don’t mind."
"Not at all~ This is a keepsake~"
Grinning, Feng Yuan pocketed the gift but soon remembered something and walked toward Kong Qing’s area. Agunas, flicking its tail, stared silently at the sculpture clasped in its claws.
After some time, everyone had unmolded their amber creations. Seeing Qi Chen and the others picking out standard molds, Feng Yuan asked curiously,
"What are those for?"
"To take back as gifts for relatives and friends. Aren’t you planning to bring something for Grandma and Mr. Yan?"
Qi Chen answered while browsing the molds. Unlike the handmade pieces made on-site, these were created using pre-made molds and flowers provided by the shop. Customers only needed to choose a quantity and place an order; the shop would notify them when their items were ready for pickup. Though these lacked the personal sentiment of handmade gifts, they were practical for larger quantities.
"Hmm, that’s true."
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan thought of Grandma and Mr. Yan. Perhaps he should bring back a memento for them as well?
