Chapter 1300: Chapter 1301 Xiao Bai Flower
"I didn’t expect the flower to have such an unexpected effect."
Seeing that the Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts showed no particular reaction to Xiao Hui and the others crowding around Ah Mu, Feng Yuan said in amazement. Based on previous situations, Xiao Hui would always be on edge if they got close to Ah Mu, even if they were hiding in the Amu Tree canopy. However, with Ah Mu’s size having shrunk considerably now, they could nestle close under the tree canopy and still be near Xiao Hui.
At this distance, the Spirit Beasts didn’t react much. They merely glanced at Xiao Hui oddly before redirecting their gaze toward the window scenery.
Following Feng Yuan’s line of sight, Qi Chen instinctively noticed it too. Hesitating for a moment, he said,
"Should we consider bringing some of these flowers back?"
After all, if the Three Spirit Beasts can only bond with Ah Mu, it still feels too pitiful for them. Plus, he believed they wouldn’t enjoy such isolation themselves. Now that something appears capable of healing them, he obviously had ideas.
"It’s not impossible, but I’m more curious about whether Ah Mu truly has that ability."
After recalling something, Feng Yuan glanced at Ah Mu and spoke. Sensing that Feng Yuan and Qi Chen seemed to be discussing him, Ah Mu made a puzzled sound while looking outside the window since the Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts perched above him were still enjoying the view, leaving him unable to turn his body. Feng Yuan smiled and said,
"Ah Mu, give it a try. See if you can bloom those small white flowers on your tree canopy."
"That’s impossible, isn’t it?"
Agunas furrowed his eyebrows, looking at Feng Yuan before Belusir exclaimed in astonishment,
"Why would that be? Aren’t those flowers the result of Kannen’s powers?"
"What did you see?"
Veronia curiously asked Belusir. The latter had likely glimpsed something through fate manipulation, but the look of surprise intrigued her and made her wonder what exactly had transpired.
"Ah Mu actually bloomed those small white flowers on his canopy. Although the effects were slightly weakened, they still managed to soothe the beasts."
Belusir stared intently at Ah Mu in confusion. He could confirm that a Giant Tree Demon would inherently lack such an ability — so how was Ah Mu able to achieve this?
"It’s no surprise. Nainefar’s power has always been unreasonable."
Feng Yuan wasn’t particularly startled. After all, Nainefar’s strength was unrivaled, even surpassing Eclipse and Xilnais in stature. If even a tiny fraction of its energy were involved, achieving such feats wouldn’t be wholly unexpected.
Not to mention the matter directly aligned with Nainefar’s attributes. Although Nainefar wasn’t technically the World Tree, in many ways, the Century Tree Nainefar bore minimal differences from it.
Hearing Feng Yuan and Qi Chen’s discussion left Ah Mu utterly baffled. Why were they asking him to grow small white flowers on his canopy? Seeing Ah Mu’s bewildered expression, Feng Yuan chuckled before briefly explaining their conversation. Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s explanation, Ah Mu tried to glance at the three little creatures perched on his canopy, but alas, his view was obstructed by his own branches.
After a moment of silence, Ah Mu let out a low sound. Upon hearing it, Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan with exasperation and remarked,
"Everything he said is true, but whether to do it or not is entirely up to you."
He shot a glare at Feng Yuan, adding with irritation,
"Look at what your antics have caused — even Ah Mu doesn’t trust a word you say."
"How is this my fault? I was just cracking a joke occasionally..."
Despite his defense, Feng Yuan lowered his head sheepishly, probably realizing he had taken his humor a bit too far in the past.
After Qi Chen explained things to Ah Mu, the latter secretly peeked at the nearby small white flowers before closing his eyes and quietly concentrating. The Wood Power began to converge as Agunas waved his paw, creating a Spatial Barrier to isolate Ah Mu’s energy fluctuations.
There was no choice — without the barrier, the train staff would likely come over with warnings. With such visible energy fluctuations, suspicion that Ah Mu might wield an Ultimate Move aboard the train wouldn’t be all that unusual.
Veronia casually shut the compartment door. With the noise from outside silenced, aside from the sound of the train chugging along, the carriage grew eerily quiet.
Feng Yuan, holding Xiao Ji, approached the window. The expanded space of the compartment not only made the interior larger but also widened the windows. Yet, with only two big windows in this particular area, the combination lent a somewhat uncanny effect when viewed together.
Resting his head on Xiao Ji’s little head, Feng Yuan pointed at the fleeting scenery outside while explaining something. Xiao Ji occasionally chirped in agreement with his commentary, although it didn’t seem particularly interested in the topic.
Little Ice Cream grumpily squeezed beside Feng Yuan, but upon locking eyes with Xiao Ji’s fierce gaze, it shrank away timidly, retreating while curiously listening to Feng Yuan’s explanations. A moment later, it let out a yawn, seeming bored, and wandered off to explore elsewhere.
Kong Qing alternated between monitoring Pomiti and keeping an eye on Ah Mu’s progress. Things weren’t going smoothly on Ah Mu’s end. After all, the small white flowers’ distinctive effects were due to Kannen’s influence, and producing them independently wouldn’t serve much purpose.
However, analyzing Kannen’s powers or recreating their effects was no easy feat. Noticing changes in the blossoms atop Ah Mu’s canopy, the Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts shifted their focus from the outside scenery to Ah Mu. They chirped and chattered away, seemingly in a lively debate. Despite being close, Xiao Hui remained unnoticed as they jovially squabbled.
Big Cat took photos with its phone, its newfound hobby blossoming since the start of the trip. Judging by the direction of its telekinesis-controlled camera lens, even Feng Yuan, engrossed in explaining something to Xiao Ji, was likely caught in the frame along with the scenery outside.
Belusir observed Ah Mu’s changes with curiosity. Although it initially foresaw success for Ah Mu, the Tree Spirit’s fate continued to evolve unpredictably. Strangely, these shifts were unrelated to Feng Yuan’s group or even Agunas. Belusir’s curiosity deepened — perhaps its theory was correct?
Watching as the flowers on Ah Mu’s canopy continuously transformed without a hint of success, Feng Yuan sighed and casually plucked a small white flower from a potted plant by the window before placing it on Ah Mu’s canopy, saying,
"Relying solely on remote sensing isn’t enough. Inject your energy into it and focus on sensing the power’s changes."
Ah Mu hesitated briefly before attempting to follow Feng Yuan’s instructions. After a while, the small white flowers on his canopy began to resemble those around them. The rich fragrance wafting from the canopy caused Feng Yuan’s Xiao Ji to squirm uncomfortably in his arms. Chuckling softly, Feng Yuan gently tapped Xiao Ji’s head and said,
"Alright, alright. I’ll step aside soon."
The Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts perched atop Ah Mu’s canopy, delighted by the scent, even leaned in close to sniff the small white flowers happily.
"It succeeded — but that’s hardly surprising,"
Belusir muttered to himself while flicking his tail. If Feng Yuan’s intervention couldn’t yield results, that would truly be odd. Still, his input was merely a small nudge. Based on the fate he foresaw, even if Feng Yuan hadn’t stepped in, Ah Mu would successfully produce the flowers before disembarking.
Of course, doing it solo would’ve spelled disaster for their journey. Agunas tried approaching the Flower Leaf Tree Three Spirit Beasts, standing directly in front without evoking special reactions from them. Noticing this, the group finally relaxed — they feared that all the effort Ah Mu had put in might’ve been for naught.
"We can’t confirm yet whether it relates to the concentration, but frequent interaction with them using this method — even without small white flowers — should allow them to adapt to interacting with other Spirit Beasts eventually."
Veronia remarked while watching the three beasts inquisitively scrutinize Agunas. They appeared oblivious to the implications behind Agunas being able to approach them. Basin Grass even clung to Agunas’s Ritual Robe, staring curiously at him.
Agunas broke free but didn’t choose to engage in play with them. Instead, his gaze shifted toward Little Ice Cream. A thought crossed his mind — he wasn’t skilled at interacting with young Spirit Beasts, but perhaps Little Ice Cream could?
Spotting Agunas’s sinister gaze, Little Ice Cream shuddered and darted behind Kong Qing for cover. As for how Agunas would persuade Little Ice Cream, Feng Yuan couldn’t care less. He knew Agunas wouldn’t force the little one to do anything against its will and had no concern over anything unpleasant happening.
