Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 1279 - 1280: Treatment

Chapter 1279: Chapter 1280: Treatment

Day turned into night as the Omeilia Region’s Divine Beasts raised their heads—who could be using such a large-scale Divine Beast Technique? In the sky, brilliant stars twinkled, while on the ground, little elves formed from starlight laughed and harvested Spiritual Medicine and Materials, delivering them to Quersan in Dantia.

"This is..."

Belusir and Veronia looked around in surprise. The once still winds had inexplicably picked up again, carrying the starry elves with their bundles of Spiritual Medicine and Materials. The tourists witnessing this scene were utterly dumbfounded. Feng Yuan, clutching his head in exasperation, muttered,

"This has nothing to do with me, okay? If there’s trouble, don’t come looking for me."

"What... is that?"

Yang Hongzhi stood frozen, muttering in disbelief. He had never seen Najia pull off such a move before. Feng Yuan glanced at Yang Hongzhi and explained,

"Najia’s Starry Summons. It’s a special ultimate move. Not much use in combat, but great for getting things done."

Aside from gathering Spiritual Medicine and Materials, these starry elves could also be used for constructing buildings. In a way, they were quite similar to the worker units found in some video games.

Feng Yuan truly hadn’t expected Najia to use this move. However, if he didn’t offer an explanation, he suspected that investigators from Drochkar would soon start shadowing Najia’s every step.

There was no helping it—if Najia used this move a few more times, it was likely that large swaths of Drochkar’s Spiritual Medicine and Materials would end up in Najia’s hands. Glancing at the growing pile of treasures, Feng Yuan said,

"Alright, this is enough for now. The materials that aren’t available in Omeilia will have to wait for Agunas to retrieve them."

He wasn’t entirely sure where Agunas had gone, but he trusted that Najia would probably inform it anyway.

"I’ll process these first. Kong Qing, lend me a hand."

Picking up some of the Spiritual Medicine, Feng Yuan turned to Kong Qing. If these weren’t processed quickly, their medicinal potency would soon begin to fade. As for tools? Feng Yuan had pretty much left them all with Kong Qing.

Swimming over to Feng Yuan, Kong Qing began pulling out various tools for processing and refining Spiritual Medicine from its spatial storage.

"You... you’re really something. Aren’t you worried something might go wrong?"

Agunas looked at Najia speechlessly. Just moments ago, the commotion had even startled it. Who would have thought Najia would make such a spectacle? Fortunately, as a Divine Beast of the Omeilia Region, a bit of explaining was enough to prevent the local Divine Beasts from becoming furious.

"It’s efficient. Besides, everyone will understand."

Najia explained as it glanced at Agunas. Meanwhile, Feng Yuan mixed the materials Agunas had brought back into a batch of semi-finished potion, continuing to refine it. Because of Najia’s actions, curious tourists began flocking to the area, forcing the old man to enlist help from the townsfolk to keep them at bay.

The Inferno Mastiff lay quietly on the ground, clutching its head as it observed Feng Yuan without making a sound. Belusir surveyed their surroundings, its eyes gleaming with an unusual light. It was peering into the destinies of all living beings. Yet, it was stunned to find that, with just one ultimate move from Najia, the fates of seemingly unrelated individuals had shifted.

Flicking its tail, Belusir stared at its own feline paw and muttered to itself,

"So this is fate? Turns out, I’ve never truly understood anything..."

Feng Yuan waved the finished potion in front of the Inferno Mastiff and said,

"Well? Care to give it a try?"

The Inferno Mastiff gave Feng Yuan a glance before snatching the potion out of his hand and swallowing it in one gulp. Moments later, it slipped into a deep slumber. Observing the scene, Agunas remarked after a moment,

"It’s indeed repairing the soul, but the process is slow."

"There’s no helping it. Considering the injury, this speed is already a miracle. Do you think this is just a minor wound? Even you couldn’t deal with that kind of damage."

Rolling his eyes, Feng Yuan retorted exasperatedly. Damage to the soul wasn’t something the Rain of Life could heal. In fact, if not for him, Agunas might have had to seek aid from Ghost-type Divine Beasts in the Netherworld.

"He’s right—this kind of injury is beyond what ordinary Ghost-type Divine Beasts can handle. Ah, I wonder if we’ll ever encounter a Soul-type attribute. I wonder if it’s possible to evolve into a Soul-type Divine Beast."

Staring at his hands, the young Long Boduo sighed deeply. Feng Yuan gave him a glance and said,

"Changing attributes is impossible. Besides, the Soul-type attribute doesn’t exist. Don’t you think the Ghost Series already encompasses that?"

"But part of it overlaps with the Death Series!"

Long Boduo protested in dissatisfaction. The ultimate moves and attributes of the two shared some similarities but delved into different aspects of the soul. Agunas eyed Long Boduo and commented,

"If you spout such remarks where they can hear you, prepare for trouble."

Among Ghost-type Divine Beasts, there were those who prided themselves on their attribute. Though not many in number, if they caught wind of Long Boduo’s words, they might come looking for a "discussion."

"Well, they’re not here, and you certainly won’t snitch."

Long Boduo shrugged at Agunas dismissively. Besides, while friendly squabbles often happened, they rarely escalated into genuine disputes over such matters.

"For now, all we can do is wait. I’m going to find some snacks. Can you keep an eye on things here?"

Lightly patting Xiao Ji on the head, Feng Yuan looked to Najia. Najia nodded and said,

"I’ll stay here and keep it company."

"It helped so many people during the war?"

Sitting beside Najia and listening to the old man’s tales, Yang Hongzhi studied the slumbering Inferno Mastiff in astonishment. Xiao Hei wagged its tail excitedly, as though it were imagining itself as the heroic canine in the story. Due to its contributions—defending against enemies and locating missing townsfolk—it had evolved from a Flame Wolfhound into an Inferno Mastiff despite lacking a Beastmaster or a pack.

After all, for a lone Spirit Beast, obtaining all the materials needed for evolution was no small feat. While the evolution path of the Flame Wolfhound line was well-researched, Spirit Beasts themselves might not fully understand it.

"Yes, you could say it’s the town’s Guardian God. But... we all understand it doesn’t truly belong to Quersan."

Looking at the slumbering Inferno Mastiff, the old man spoke softly. Agunas gave the old man a skeptical look and asked,

"Could it be... you plan to drive it away?"

"No, of course not. It’s just that, from the beginning, it always felt like it never belonged here. It had simply forgotten where its home was and stopped here out of necessity. If it could, we’d much prefer that it remember where it came from."

The old man gazed compassionately at the Inferno Mastiff. It had given much to the town, and the town had given much in return. But he believed that no matter how kind they were to it, they could never give it the feeling of home. Many had even suggested building it a den, but each time, it refused.

Spirit Beasts were unlike humans. Their long lifespans meant their family might still be waiting for them somewhere.

"Actually, we’d love for it to settle down here with its family. Not because we want its protection, but because it would be our turn to protect it."

Smiling, the old man said. From behind him, a White Ape Martial Master walked over, and Yang Hongzhi suddenly realized this old man wasn’t ordinary—after all, no regular person had a Legendary Level companion. The White Ape Martial Master stood quietly, holding a tray. Noticing the motion behind him, the old man turned and said to the ape,

"Thank you for your hard work."

Taking the tray, he placed it on a nearby table and smiled, saying,

"This is tea brought over from your Divine Land Region. I wonder if you’ll like it."

"I don’t mind. That guy might, though."

Agunas hugged its cup as it spoke. It had only ever seen Feng Yuan enjoying tea in his leisure, though it doubted Najia—new to the Divine Land Region and a Divine Beast of Omeilia—would develop a particular fondness for it.

"Who knows how long it will take for it to recover."

Glancing at the sleeping Inferno Mastiff, Yang Hongzhi mused aloud. Agunas flicked its tail and responded,

"Not anytime soon, that’s for sure. But there’s nothing urgent on the horizon, so staying here a few extra days shouldn’t be an issue."

With Feng Yuan off hunting for snacks with Xiao Ji and the others, there was no asking him for details. As for Qi Chen and his group? They were preoccupied with local souvenirs and didn’t seem too concerned about where their travels took them.
