Chapter 1270: Chapter 1271: Leaving

"Are you saying... the book?"

Agunas seemed to understand something and looked at Feng Yuan. Feng Yuan nodded and said,

"Exactly. In any case, there’s no need to worry about it. Besides, those people probably don’t have the time to concern themselves with this place."

Feng Yuan was certain that those people absolutely wouldn’t have the time to come here and stir up trouble for him. Did they really think the Abyss was easy to deal with? Furthermore, Feng Yuan had no doubts about their real purpose—releasing the Abyss was simply a tactic to divert attention. If the Abyss wasn’t handled, their plans would undoubtedly collapse.

And dealing with the Abyss was no easy task. As the core rule of Chaos, the Abyss was so difficult to handle that even Feng Yuan wouldn’t want to provoke it lightly.

Moreover, this world wasn’t like that other one, where the Four Elements Spirits were its sole guardians. In this place, corrupting so many Divine Beasts at once was infinitely harder.

"Let’s just enjoy exploring this temple. I assume you wouldn’t refuse, would you?"

"If you wish, I can introduce the temple to you."

"Heh heh ~ That sounds great; a guided tour!"

"What’s up with you?"

On the Wind Platform of the temple, Feng Yuan walked over, puzzled, to Veronia, who was leaning on the railing, gazing at the rolling waves in the distance. She turned her head, glanced at Feng Yuan, and said,

"Why is the world so fragile? Just a single conspiracy, and it’s already..."

"What’s strange about that? If the world were strong, what need would there be for people like you? Let alone the fact that the strength of that other world was likely even weaker than this one."

Leaning on the railing, Feng Yuan said casually. Xiao Ji stood nearby with a content expression, enjoying the feeling of the breeze. Though Xiao Ji no longer possessed the Wind Attribute, it still liked the power of wind as it was its original element.

"Indeed. But after witnessing the destruction of the World of Mirrors and seeing the remnants of this broken world... it’s truly..."

Glancing at Feng Yuan, Veronia sighed deeply, leaned against the white jade railing, and stared at the sea in a daze. Feng Yuan shrugged his shoulders, gently patted Xiao Ji’s back, and led it away. When Veronia was like this, Feng Yuan didn’t know what to say to comfort her. As for persuading her? He glanced at the sneaky little crocodile near the side—this wasn’t his business.

"Are you... recording something?"

Noticing Yang Hongzhi photographing a mural while scribbling notes, Feng Yuan asked in surprise. Yang Hongzhi looked at Feng Yuan briefly and said,

"Our mentor has an interest in this ruin. However, she can’t come here."

This site was located in the Starlit Sea. Not only did Yang Hongzhi lack precise coordinates to provide her, but even if he had them, how could she get here? Did they think just anyone could roam freely in the Starlit Sea? Unless one was at the Sacred Beast Level, even Legendary Level Spirit Beasts wouldn’t ensure safety in this treacherous expanse.

The ever-looming storms of the sea do not show mercy. Many Beastmasters have met their end, buried by those vicious sea storms.

"An interest in this ruin?"

Scratching his head, Feng Yuan found it odd. Wasn’t Yang Hongzhi’s mentor not specifically studying history? If she wasn’t, how could she have an interest in this topic? Even historians specializing in their own world’s history might not care about the history of the Outer World.

Yang Hongzhi seemed to understand what Feng Yuan was pondering. He explained,

"Her husband is a professor specializing in interdimensional history for Great Xia. Of course, he would be interested in such things."

"I see. Why not ask it directly for more details? Since it wishes to preserve the information of that world, it shouldn’t refuse."

"Well, I’ll ask about it later. But I can’t overlook these murals. After all, independent pieces of information might still be inaccurate."

Yang Hongzhi paused for a moment before speaking. Previously, he hadn’t thought of asking that entity for details. Avoiding contact with the unknown—especially something as powerful and enigmatic—was a natural instinct for most people.

"Alright, you carry on. I’ll take Xiao Ji to explore elsewhere~"

Feng Yuan lightly patted Xiao Ji’s back and laughed before turning to leave. As for Kong Qing and the others? Long Boduo had taken them away, seemingly to play hide-and-seek among the ruins. Feng Yuan couldn’t figure out what Long Boduo was thinking.

The wind flowed through the white jade ruins. After learning the Wind Spirits were capable of harnessing residual energy to maintain the temple, Delong Tower merely reminded them not to cause destruction in the Starlit Sea before departing with Feng Yuan and his group. Once they left, the temple returned to tranquility.

Across the Starlit Sea, Yang Hongzhi was discussing everything he had seen with his mentor. Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan stood at the stern of the ship, gazing at the scenery. Though the Wind Temple had helped Dou Yanlan resolve some of her inner conflicts, the looming problems still troubled her.

Long Boduo and Little Ice Cream were causing chaos all over the ship. No one knew when they had started playing together. Veronia was in the lobby, checking Droplet Bubble’s condition. Although Droplet Bubble had come from the World of Mirrors, Veronia didn’t watch it constantly. As a weaker Spirit Beast, Droplet Bubble was susceptible to illnesses, requiring extra care from Veronia.

Nearby, Agunas sat reading a book, stealing occasional glances at Veronia. Belusir curiously observed everything. This journey felt entirely different from before. Aside from Qi Chen and his group, Belusir couldn’t discern anyone’s destiny. Even Qi Chen’s fate wasn’t fixed.

Being tied to Feng Yuan, perhaps a seemingly unintentional action from him could drastically alter destiny. Gradually, Belusir began to grasp the meaning behind Feng Yuan’s earlier words to it. Still, it wasn’t sure if it could truly restrain itself.

Soon, they would arrive at Omeilia. Perhaps then, everything would have an answer. Belusir thought this, shaking its tail and twitching its ears.

The ship raced along the high-speed sea highway, a newly emerged passage that puzzled crews navigating near the Black Sea. High-speed sea highways were typically stable and fixed—powers like those of Delong Tower rarely created new ones out of the blue.

What is Delong Tower up to now? The sailors felt increasingly baffled, while captains began to grow uneasy. For those reliant on the sea for their livelihoods, Delong Tower’s activities remain their biggest concern. The stability of high-speed routes and the Black Sea rests in Delong Tower’s influence.

No one could predict the consequences of this new route. Questions persisted: Would it alter the Black Sea’s balance? Where did it lead? Would it create additional transit paths? These unresolved issues troubled many for hours—until Agunas submitted an entry application to Drochkar.

Only then did they realize they had worried for nothing.

People with ulterior motives couldn’t hide their disappointment. The new route was simply a temporary high-speed sea highway drawn by Delong Tower. The ocean itself wouldn’t change at all, giving some who had ambitious schemes reason to silently rejoice that they hadn’t acted rashly.

Agunas’s application included a slightly larger group of travelers, notably involving individuals from the Divine Land Region—who were temporarily barred from receiving permits. Nevertheless, Drochkar approved the application after consideration. Agunas personally led the group, making it hard to refuse. Moreover, it was just a few people. No one dared to antagonize Agunas over access to this world’s resources—it simply wasn’t worth it.

However, in Calien City, certain individuals harbored different thoughts. Though few knew about Najia’s matters, the upper echelon at Bola Machinery did. Their dissatisfaction lingered over Najia choosing someone from Great Xia as its Divine Pact Maker. Still, they only dwelled on it internally. They knew the backstory of the incident and understood that Najia’s connection with them had long since severed.

They sent Najia an invitation, hoping it would visit Calien after touring Drochkar, seeking an opportunity to mend their relationship. But Feng Yuan rejected the offer after brief consideration.

They had already been there. Visiting again didn’t seem worthwhile and wasn’t likely to please Najia. If Najia truly wanted to return someday, opportunities would arise. However, Najia had never expressed the slightest intention of revisiting the place—its sentiment from the past still lingered.

Moreover, Feng Yuan had already asked Najia about this. Najia had shown no interest. While it wouldn’t refuse if Feng Yuan’s group decided to go, it clearly held no desire to be there.
