Disheartened, I Fled from the CEO with Our Babies
Chapter 351: Heart Fluttering, Deep Affection

Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Heart Fluttering, Deep Affection

Because of Gu Changfeng’s sudden appearance, and because of the perfectly unblemished handsome face he now displayed, An Muxin’s heartbeat thudded fiercely.

It was guilt, but also an unspeakable shock.

Gu Changfeng held so much leverage against her, making her both uneasy and scared that he’d push her into a desperate corner.

She was shocked because of the striking handsomeness of Gu Changfeng’s face, now free of dark blemishes.

Over the years, she had been obsessed with Huo Shaoyan, captivated by the outrageously breathtaking face that seemed to enchant gods and mortals alike.

But seeing the raw beauty of Gu Changfeng’s true visage now, she realized it was a face that could enchant women even more deeply.

Of course, she also knew better than anyone about Gu Changfeng’s ruthless malice.

And so, An Muxin quickly suppressed the astonishment on her face.

Feigning composure, she looked at Gu Changfeng and said coldly, "Why are you here?"

Gu Changfeng’s thin lips curved upward, his tone faintly playful, "Naturally, I’ve come to find you."

Upon hearing this, every hair on An Muxin’s body stood on end.

She stepped back quickly, her voice rising with agitation:

"Why are you looking for me? We’ve long agreed to stay out of each other’s business..."

Gu Changfeng’s phoenix eyes narrowed deeply, his gaze fixed unwaveringly on her abdomen:

"Who said we’d stay out of each other’s business? The child in your belly still has something to do with me..."

The moment the child in her belly was mentioned, An Muxin’s emotion erupted uncontrollably.

Her fury flared,

"Gu Changfeng, haven’t you done enough to ruin me? You clearly never touched me.

This child in my womb clearly has no connection to you! Why can’t you just leave me alone?"

Gu Changfeng pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit it.

He took a long drag, then deliberately exhaled a thick cloud of smoke directly into An Muxin’s face, causing her to break into a violent coughing fit.

Her eyes brimmed with tears as the coughing wracked her body, her emotions spiraling further out of control.

She screamed hoarsely, "I’m begging you, can’t you just let me live?!"

At that moment, Gu Changfeng reached out and gripped her jaw, forcing her face to meet his.

Looking at her, his voice as cold as ice, he said, "I can. But that depends on your performance, understand?"

An Muxin felt her throat tighten. "Performance? What exactly do you want me to do?"

Gu Changfeng’s tone remained faintly amused:

"I’ve heard that Commander An has been discharged from the hospital, and that his eightieth birthday celebration is approaching. I’d like to attend as your boyfriend."

An Muxin took a deep breath, trying to keep her voice calm.

"I can promise you that. But before that, I want to terminate this pregnancy. This child belongs neither to you nor to Huo Shaoyan. I won’t let it be born..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Gu Changfeng interrupted:

"I agree to you terminating the pregnancy."

Pause. "But, you’ll wait until after Commander An’s birthday celebration."

An Muxin’s eyes flared red as she demanded, "Why?! Why are you treating me like this? Why..."

Gu Changfeng curled his lips into an eerie, sinister smile,

"Because after Commander An’s birthday celebration, your fetus will have reached twelve weeks? At that time, getting an abortion will be ten times more painful. Do you understand?"

An Muxin: "Who are you? Why are you being so cruel to me?"

Gu Changfeng raised a hand to pat her face, laughing as he replied:

"I’m about to attend Commander An’s birthday celebration as your boyfriend, and you still don’t know who I am? I’m obviously your boyfriend."

With that, Gu Changfeng withdrew his hand.

He then stepped back, creating some distance between them.

Looking down at An Muxin’s face twisted to the brink of emotional collapse, he chuckled softly: "Young lady, good night."

After finishing, Gu Changfeng turned and walked toward a black Maybach.

An Muxin recognized the car.

One of this year’s globally limited editions, its post-modifications priced in the tens of millions.

Thus, An Muxin grew more curious about Gu Changfeng’s true identity.

And, naturally, she developed even greater fear of him.

Stumbling back to her apartment, An Muxin immediately summoned Cui Zhu.

Cui Zhu noticed her pale complexion and handed her a cup of warm water. "Miss, what happened to you?"

An Muxin lost control of her emotions, "Gu Changfeng—the madman—came to me just now..."

After recounting the details of Gu Changfeng’s visit to Cui Zhu, she said:

"Cui Zhu, what should I do? What should I do now? I feel like he’s not just targeting me, but aiming for our entire An Family..."

Her voice trembled with fear. "I asked you to investigate him before—how’s it going?"

Regarding this matter, Cui Zhu had indeed uncovered some clues.

She told An Muxin:

"Based on the information I’ve gathered, Gu Changfeng appears to be the founder of the notorious Red Star Alliance. Whether or not it’s truly him requires further confirmation."

An Muxin had heard of the Red Star Alliance.

She remembered her elder brother, An Jifeng, had hired members of the Red Star Alliance to clear obstacles in his political career.

For instance, earlier this year, the deputy secretary of finance had been brought down thanks to damning evidence collected by the Alliance—helping An Jifeng take that deputy’s place.

Now, An Jifeng held that position in the Finance Ministry.

Just the thought of the Red Star Alliance was enough to almost make An Muxin faint from fright.

But what Cui Zhu said next quickly steadied her nerves.

Cui Zhu told her:

"Miss, if Gu Changfeng is truly the head of the Red Star Alliance, then we can be sure he has an even more insane agenda in mind.

Currently, given Young Master’s influence and connections, not to mention Commander’s military authority, with proper preparation, we can surely eliminate this organization once and for all. Not only that, we can even bring it under our control."

An Muxin calmed down quickly because of Cui Zhu’s words.

"You’re right. No matter what Gu Changfeng’s motives are, as long as I inform both my brother and grandfather, and we take appropriate precautions, we won’t fear him."

After a pause, she added, "But first, have someone attempt to assassinate him—to test his true strength. Let’s see how capable he really is."

Saying this, An Muxin gave Cui Zhu another instruction:

"Make arrangements. We’ll head back to the An Family ancestral estate soon to tell my brother about this."

As Cui Zhu grabbed the car keys, she casually asked, "Miss, how did your meeting with Professor Laura go last night?"

Upon hearing this, An Muxin hastened to hand Cui Zhu the M-type hallucinogen she had obtained,

"I’ve already secured this latest type of hallucinogen..."

Pause. "After you drop me off to meet my brother, I need you to take this and travel to Jingcheng to meet Lin Keke."

Taking the M-type hallucinogen from An Muxin, Cui Zhu said:

"Understood, Miss." Pause. "Miss, have you considered using this to control Gu Changfeng?"

Cui Zhu’s suggestion caused An Muxin’s eyes to light up instantly.

Ecstatic, she embraced Cui Zhu,

"Cui Zhu, how did I not think of that? If I can successfully use this to control Gu Changfeng, wouldn’t I be able to completely defeat him?"

After some thought, Cui Zhu added:

"Miss, Gu Changfeng lying in wait by your side for over a decade demonstrates that he is extraordinarily cunning. Successfully deploying the M-type hallucinogen on him will require meticulous planning."

An Muxin nodded, agreeing with Cui Zhu’s observation: "You’re right. This must be carefully planned."

...

The next morning.

After washing up, An Ge came downstairs intending to have breakfast, only for Nanny Lin to approach her in a hurry and say:

"Miss, President Huo came to Castle Manor early this morning."

Surprised, An Ge furrowed her brows slightly, "When did he arrive?"

Nanny Lin replied, "I was already up at six this morning doing chores, and he was outside the Castle Manor gates by then."

Pause. "The guard said he didn’t get out of the car but just sat there waiting."

Thinking for a moment, An Ge said, "I’ll call him in a bit."

Nanny Lin looked worried and asked:

"Miss, do you think President Huo regrets divorcing you? Could he be trying to reconcile? Or perhaps he wants to take the child from you?"

Recalling the phone call from Huo Shaoyan last night prior to bedtime, she responded:

"He probably wouldn’t. He told me he’d come today to bring food and clothing for the child..."

Nanny Lin exhaled in relief, "As long as he’s not trying to take the child."

She turned and went to the kitchen to get An Ge’s breakfast.

Meanwhile, An Ge took her phone out while walking to the dining room and dialed Huo Shaoyan’s number.

The call connected quickly, and his slightly gravelly low voice came through, "You’re up?"

An Ge affirmed, "I heard from the staff you arrived here early this morning?"

Huo Shaoyan replied, "I’m heading out on a business trip after nine, so I came earlier."

She replied nonchalantly, "Then leave what you brought with the guards; they’ll bring everything in..."

Before she could even finish, the man’s calm voice cut her off:

"I’ve been here since five a.m.; I haven’t even had a sip of water yet. I’ve got a flight to catch later, so I won’t have time for breakfast. Could you possibly let me in for a glass of water?"

Pause. "I’ll drink some water, see the child, and then leave..."

An Ge wanted to decline, "The children are still asleep..."

Huo Shaoyan insisted, "I won’t wake them up."

An Ge hesitated, rendered speechless, "..."

"Even though we’re divorced, do you remember that you owe me a favor? Didn’t I lose my spleen saving you? Asking to stay and have breakfast—surely that isn’t too much to ask?"

With the conversation being pushed to this point, An Ge didn’t have much else to say.

"Fine. Drive in then."

Five minutes later, An Ge watched as Huo Shaoyan appeared in the living room, carrying several large bags.

Her gaze fell on the items in his hands, feeling a mix of emotions.

Among the bundles were cartons of fresh eggs, live chickens and ducks, and other premium health supplements she couldn’t quite name.

Frowning slightly, An Ge asked, "President Huo, did you buy out the entire poultry market?"

He motioned for his bodyguards to carry the live poultry to Castle Manor’s backyard, then addressed her,

"I ventured into the countryside to buy all these overnight." Pause. "With your health and the children’s not being the best, the elders say stewing poultry soup regularly helps with nourishment."

An Ge pressed her lips together silently, eventually accepting, "Since it’s a kind gesture from President Huo, I’ll take it."

Huo Shaoyan nodded solemnly, his phoenix eyes instinctively drifting to An Ge’s abdomen.

The thought of her carrying their child made him uncontrollably emotional.
