Disheartened, I Fled from the CEO with Our Babies -
Chapter 317: Intimacy!
Chapter 317: Chapter 317: Intimacy!
An Ge’s emotions fluctuated again because of his words.
Even though she and Huo Shaoyan had entangled with each other for so many years, he had never made such a promise to her.
But the man in front of her said these words to her with utmost sincerity.
To be honest, Gu Changfeng’s attitude made it hard for An Ge not to feel suspicious.
After suppressing a certain suspicion in her heart without revealing any trace,
she pretended to accidentally spill the remaining grape juice from her glass onto Gu Changfeng’s waist.
Today, Gu Changfeng had worn a white shirt he usually didn’t wear in order to meet An Ge.
Qin Ming had told him that he looked particularly fierce in dark-colored clothes, especially when he wasn’t smiling—he was the kind of person even aggressive dogs would avoid.
So, following Qin Ming’s suggestion, he switched to a white shirt and beige trousers, even shaving his beard for the meeting.
As a result, An Ge’s deliberate spill not only soiled his white shirt but also stained his beige trousers.
The grape juice was a dark reddish-purple. The shirt could pass as merely dirty, but the juice trickling down to his trousers, specifically the crotch area, made the situation far more embarrassing.
Initially, An Ge’s intention was to stain Gu Changfeng’s shirt to make him change clothes so she could check if there was a crescent-shaped birthmark on his lower back. However, due to her overexertion, she also soiled his trousers—and honestly, she felt a bit awkward about it.
"I—I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. I... just lost my grip on the glass, it slipped..." she stammered.
Gu Changfeng, unfazed, said, "It’s fine."
Not only was he unfazed, but he didn’t even consider cleaning up. Instead, he reassured An Ge,
"It’s nothing major. I’ll change when I get back. Take care and rest well. If you need anything, you can always call me."
After a moment’s pause, concerned she might overthink, he added,
"Don’t feel any burden. I’m willing to be special to you for two reasons: one, we share a common enemy, and two, you bear some resemblance to my long-lost sister—nothing more."
With that, Gu Changfeng turned to leave.
An Ge hurriedly stepped off the hospital bed, blocking his way, "I... I have some spare clothes here, Mr. Gu. Why don’t you change into those?"
Gu Changfeng wasn’t dull; he had discerned that An Ge’s earlier spill of grape juice was intentional.
Her subsequent restless urgency to stop him from leaving only confirmed her ulterior motives.
Gu Changfeng’s lips curled up as he realized something.
Leaning in close, his eyes level with hers, he looked at her with an ambiguous smile,
"Do you really want to see my body?"
In an instant, An Ge’s face flushed red all the way to the tips of her ears.
But today, she had to confirm whether there was a crescent-shaped birthmark on Gu Changfeng’s back.
Gathering her courage under his intense and smoldering gaze, she replied firmly, "Yes." Then added, "So... are you going to let me see?"
Gu Changfeng raised a hand and playfully tapped her delicate nose before straightening up.
His gaze was filled with affectionate mirth, his voice gentle as water, "What’s the reason?"
An Ge bit her lip, her face still burning, and replied,
"Because... because you have a great body... incredibly sexy..."
Gu Changfeng arched an eyebrow, recalling Qin Ming’s recent report to him.
Qin Ming had mentioned that An Ge had recently been spending time with Gu Ru Yi. Gu Changfeng guessed that An Ge, influenced by some instigation from Gu Ru Yi, might have started doubting his identity and was trying to verify if he was related to the Qin family.
Thinking about it, Gu Changfeng knew he had to put a stop to her investigation.
After all, the massacre of the Qin family was a bloody vendetta carried solely by him; he couldn’t let his sister suffer alongside him.
Having made up his mind, Gu Changfeng pushed himself up and, in the next second, began unbuttoning his shirt at an unhurried pace.
As his fingers worked through the buttons, his white shirt was soon completely undone.
His skin was pale—a cold alabaster devoid of blood’s warmth. Yet, his finely defined muscles exuded an undeniable allure.
As the white shirt slipped off his shoulders, An Ge’s gaze instinctively fell to his waist.
The left side of his waist bore a conspicuous scar, roughly seven to eight centimeters in width. The grotesque appearance of the scar made it impossible for An Ge to determine how it had been caused.
It didn’t resemble a knife wound, nor did it seem to be from scalding or burning.
Her gaze lingered on the raised edges of the scar, and as if driven by some unseen force, she reached out a finger to touch it. Just then, the hospital room door was slammed open with an explosive "bang."
The sound made An Ge reflexively turn, locking eyes with Huo Shaoyan, who appeared radiating an aura of pent-up rage.
Her gaze barely lingered on his face for a second before shifting away.
Her attention returned to Gu Changfeng. Before Huo Shaoyan could approach, she had already checked the right side of Gu Changfeng’s waist as well.
She didn’t see the so-called crescent-shaped birthmark, leaving her a little disappointed.
But her disappointment didn’t last long, as Huo Shaoyan rolled up his sleeves, ready to throw a punch at Gu Changfeng.
At the critical moment, An Ge stepped between them.
Or more precisely, she used her body to shield Gu Changfeng from Huo Shaoyan’s raised fist.
To Huo Shaoyan, her action was like a slap in the face, igniting his anger even further.
He shouted at her, seething with fury, "Move out of my way!"
An Ge’s voice was cold and detached: "President Huo, it’s not what you think. Please control your temper..."
Huo Shaoyan gritted his teeth, his voice low and icy, "It’s not what I think? Then what is it? I truly can’t understand how your relationship with him has become so close that you’re now practically naked with each other."
An Ge frowned and looked at Huo Shaoyan. For a moment, she didn’t even want to explain.
She turned her gaze away from him and instead addressed Gu Changfeng, "Mr. Gu, you should leave now."
Gu Changfeng didn’t want to have a direct confrontation with Huo Shaoyan, a man so evidently on edge. However, judging by Huo Shaoyan’s menacing stance, he might swallow An Ge whole if left unchecked.
Not wanting An Ge to suffer, Gu Changfeng tilted his chin toward Huo Shaoyan and said,
"President Huo, how about we have a private talk?"
Huo Shaoyan, expressionless, replied,
"I have nothing to say to you. I don’t care what your motives are for getting close to her, but from this moment on,
I forbid you from appearing before her again. If you do, I’ll make sure there’s no place for you to be buried..."
Faced with Huo Shaoyan’s threat, Gu Changfeng merely chuckled and responded nonchalantly:
"How does President Huo plan to ensure my demise? Like the Qin family massacre of seventy-two people over a decade ago?"
Huo Shaoyan’s brows furrowed deeply at his words, "What do you mean by that?"
The humor on Gu Changfeng’s face vanished. Staring impassively at Huo Shaoyan, he stated,
"If President Huo is interested in the tragic Qin family massacre, then let’s talk privately."
He paused, his tone pointed,
"No man should make things difficult for his own woman. President Huo, if you have issues with me, take it out on me—just don’t break Mrs. Huo’s heart. You may find it impossible to win her back later."
Gu Changfeng left with those words, turning on his heel without looking back.
Huo Shaoyan didn’t immediately follow him, but spoke to Gu Changfeng, who had nearly reached the doorway,
"Wait for me downstairs. Five minutes."
Gu Changfeng paused briefly before walking out of the room.
After he left, Huo Shaoyan’s piercing gaze fell upon An Ge. His voice was cuttingly sarcastic:
"If you want to hurt me, An Ge, you shouldn’t use someone like Gu Changfeng to provoke me..."
An Ge coldly interrupted him, "Huo Shaoyan, can you stop assuming the worst about people?"
Huo Shaoyan, enraged, shot back:
"He was already half-naked—what level would it take in your view to count as ’the worst’?"
An Ge took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
Pregnant women, especially in early stages, mustn’t lose their temper—it could affect the baby.
She reminded herself that being angry at Huo Shaoyan wasn’t worth it.
After steadying her emotions, An Ge icily remarked,
"As for what level counts as ’the worst,’ President Huo would know best, wouldn’t he? After all, the late An Baoying,
and An Muxin, who’s still alive and carrying your child, are proof enough of how filthy your deeds can get—have you forgotten your own trail of disgrace?"
Huo Shaoyan didn’t want to argue with An Ge.
Nor did he want to keep fueling his anger.
But what he had just witnessed—An Ge’s suspiciously intimate interaction with Gu Changfeng—made it nearly impossible for him to calm down.
He couldn’t stand seeing An Ge close to any man but himself.
When her words fell, Huo Shaoyan shut his eyes tightly for a moment.
After reopening them, he seemed to suppress all his emotions completely.
His gaze grew distant as he looked at An Ge, his voice devoid of warmth or emotion,
"If you truly can’t live with me anymore, then let’s just end it here."
An Ge froze, her nerves tightening as if stung by a wasp.
The night outside grew darker, and the atmosphere in the room cooled even further because of his words.
It felt as though the tense heat of the prior moment had plunged into an ice age, cold enough to make anyone shiver.
In fact, An Ge found herself involuntarily sneezing at this point.
After a long while, her unfocused eyes regained some clarity.
Her ebony-like pupils locked onto Huo Shaoyan, and her hoarse voice, slightly choked up, asked,
"What do you mean by ’end it here’?"
After speaking, she licked her lips and declared,
"I have no objections to the divorce, but the child is my life..."
Huo Shaoyan coldly interrupted her:
"If the child is your life, then you should compromise with me. Stay with me peacefully instead of constantly picking fights."
He paused, his tone turning stone-cold, as if his patience had been completely drained,
"If divorce is what you want, I won’t deny it. But I’ll never allow a Huo family child to be raised elsewhere."
An Ge’s heart clenched in pain.
Lowering her gaze slightly, her trembling lashes caught a teardrop, which spilled and splashed down.
Huo Shaoyan’s brows knitted as he stared silently at her for a long moment before speaking,
"An Ge, you ought to know that my heart can be harder than stone. You could cry rivers in front of me, but it won’t change my decision.
If it’s a divorce you want, so be it. I’ll still give you the promised one billion yuan, to the last cent. But the child must stay with the Huo family."
