Chapter 224: Chapter 224: Deep Affection, Tenderness
Young Master Huo really hated that seemingly indifferent, yet inherently sharp and cold aura she exuded. He got up and walked to her, placing his hands on either side of her body. His long fingers pinched her chin as he spoke in a deep, somber voice, "So, before my patience runs out with you, let me know your true intentions for approaching me. Tell me, what exactly do you want from me? If it’s revenge, you didn’t need to go this far."
With that, Huo Shaoyan shoved a small revolver into An Ge’s palm. He grasped her hand, pressing the gun’s barrel against his own chest where his heart beat, and said in a grave tone, "You can just shoot me right here..."
An Ge narrowed her peach blossom eyes slowly. She looked at him, seeing how much more mature and captivating his handsome face had become in the five years since they last met. After a while, she reached out to touch his thick black eyebrows, her voice light as she said, "But President Huo, murder is illegal. I wouldn’t do something so foolish."
She paused, "Moreover, although I hate you, I never really wanted you dead. I just wanted you to experience the pain I went through back then, that’s all."
As she spoke, Huo Shaoyan snatched the small revolver from her hand. He aimed the barrel at his own stomach, his eyes tinted with a dark red hue, making him seem obsessively unfamiliar to An Ge. He spoke to her clearly, word by word, "You’re afraid of going to jail, but you want to successfully get back at me and make me miserable. Three shots—will that do?"
As he said this, he intended to pull the trigger. An Ge’s entire being instantly tensed up to the extreme, as if driven by instinct; her hand gripped the gun barrel at the same time. Looking at the man’s increasingly crimson phoenix eyes, her voice was hoarse, masking her attempt to stay calm, "President Huo, I’m older now, and I have kids at home. I can’t stand bloody scenes."
The moment the words left her mouth, the man leaned down and kissed her lips harshly. He kissed and sucked, sucked and bit. An Ge, in pain, bit back. In an instant, a strong taste of blood spread in her mouth. Even so, Huo Shaoyan didn’t let her go. He kissed her fiercely, plundering every bit of beauty within her mouth.
An Ge couldn’t withstand it at all, soon collapsing onto the sofa behind her. Finally, when she had a breath of respite, accompanied by a strong and dense discomfort, her entire back arched due to this sudden invasion. Only at this moment did the man slightly relax his hold on her.
Her cheeks were pale from the pain, and the sweat on her forehead soon soaked her hair. Her eyes were filled with intense anger, but for some unknown reason, she forcibly suppressed it again.
Facing his dominant aggression, she simply said lightly, "If you’re going to do it, then hurry up and get out of my house when you’re done."
With those words, Huo Shaoyan felt like his heart was pierced with a dull weapon, numbing with pain. He cupped the back of her head with one hand, while the other slid through her back, pulling her whole body to sit on his lap. Throughout this process, he never separated from her even for a moment.
He held her tightly, his head buried in her neck, his breathing obviously rapid and messy. Yet, at times like this, he could still attain the utmost restraint and forbearance. He held her this way for an unknown length of time until An Ge heard him speak to her, almost hoarsely, "Tell me, what must I do for you to return to my side? Will you tell me? As long as I can, and as long as I have, I’ll give it my all and do everything possible to meet your conditions, alright?"
He said this as though it was a deep confession. But An Ge knew better; it wasn’t. To him, it was merely possessiveness. If he truly cared about her, he wouldn’t have repeatedly protected An Muxin. After all these years, despite how An Muxin treated her back then, wasn’t she still well cared for by him? Even though she had made it clear to him how An Muxin arranged for someone to hit her with a car, he still chose to trust An Muxin.
An Ge wouldn’t believe Huo Shaoyan anymore. His current actions were all just pretenses.
Thinking this, her initially troubled heart calmed down forcibly. At this moment, she became particularly calm. She pushed him away a bit, who was buried in her neck, looked at his slightly reddened phoenix eyes, and said, "President Huo, it’s simply impossible between us. At most, I’ll play with you, just like how you wanted to play with me back then."
An Ge’s words completely enraged Huo Shaoyan, and he lost all patience with coaxing her. His gaze darkened and deepened with malice. He slammed out viciously, his voice cold as ice, "You want to play with me? Fine, I’ll make you taste the price of playing with me."
Huo Shaoyan was determined to punish An Ge, so throughout the process, he ground An Ge to the extreme. At first, An Ge could cope, but soon she couldn’t bear it anymore. However, it was when she could hardly endure it that Huo Shaoyan pulled away from her, watching her unravel little by little, and then, when she reached her limit again, coerced her once more.
The disturbance was so great that even [in the study upstairs], Lu Huai’an heard it. Though he didn’t come downstairs, he shouted from above, "Damn it, can’t you do that in a room?"
Because of Lu Huai’an’s angry roar, Huo Shaoyan fetched a blanket to wrap An Ge, then lifted her horizontally. He didn’t go upstairs because he was in a hurry; he couldn’t wait. They didn’t have to go far—just to the nearest bathroom. In the bathroom, he placed her on the countertop and kissed her once again.
Compared to before, when he bore the wrath of punishment, he now appeared extremely tender and soft.
...
Time seemed to stretch endlessly. An Ge’s eyes and mind were filled only with the blurry, handsome visage of the man, obscured by sweat. Her consciousness seemed to waver. Finally, when everything returned to tranquility, she lay, exhausted, on his shoulder, her voice ethereal as she spoke, "I want something from you."
Men were usually agreeable after such moments, and more so since she initiated the conversation with Huo Shaoyan. Almost immediately after she finished speaking, Huo Shaoyan replied, "Speak." An Ge rested against his shoulder for a moment, her breath steadying, but she was truly too tired, her body worked to exhaustion and pain, too weary to even lift a finger.
She laid her full weight against Huo Shaoyan, saying, "Help me clean up first, then I’ll tell you." Huo Shaoyan found her well-behaved, wrapping her in a large towel, then said, "Your fresh clothes should be in the master bedroom upstairs. Shall I take you to the room’s bathroom?"
An Ge agreed. Huo Shaoyan lifted her horizontally once more.
Upon reaching the upper floor, they encountered Lu Huai’an, who was holding car keys, about to go downstairs. Lu Huai’an glanced at An Ge, whose sweaty little face was barely visible in Huo Shaoyan’s wrap, and scoffed in a sarcastic tone, "Dying in the same pit once is enough. Don’t go dying again; I’m not helping with clearing up your corpse."
Huo Shaoyan’s expression darkened as he warned, "Stay out of my affairs with her. It’s no benefit to you."
After Lu Huai’an left, An Ge, under Huo Shaoyan’s care, enjoyed a comfortable hot bath. Afterward, she leaned against the headboard, watching the man calmly dry his hair with a towel at a leisurely pace.
"My daughter is quite ill. If you donate part of your liver, her recovery rate would be ninety percent."
Huo Shaoyan’s hand paused slightly while drying his hair. A moment later, he sat beside her on the bed, "Alright."
The master bedroom light was dim, casting a warm glow. An Ge looked up at him, "What’s the condition?"
"Remarry me."
An Ge knew negotiations wouldn’t be that easy. This man seized the chance to threaten her with leverage; she had practically delivered the bargaining chip to him. How could he agree so readily?
Huo Shaoyan’s stance was entirely expected by An Ge. Therefore, she wasn’t surprised. She said, "Remarrying is out of the question."
Huo Shaoyan pushed for a different negotiation, "But if you’re unwilling to sacrifice anything, there’s no way I’d agree easily. Though Huanhuan is adorable, she’s not my daughter. Frankly, her life or death holds little significance to me. Risking my life to donate part of my liver to save hers—I’m not that compassionate."
He paused with a suggestive tone, "You should know, I’m allergic to anesthesia. Ten years ago, I almost died on the operating table when I donated part of my liver to save Qin Xiaoqi without any anesthesia. So, if you’re not sincere enough, I won’t agree."
An Ge understood that now was the best time to negotiate with Huo Shaoyan. If she passed this opportunity, trying to talk about it later would be much harder and would place her at a disadvantage. With this in mind, she said, "My bottom line is that there’s no way I’ll remarry you."
Huo Shaoyan’s throat rolled, "Why? I’m offering you the dignity of being Mrs. Huo. Why not accept?"
