Chapter 113: Liking His Kiss
Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Liking His Kiss
He finished speaking and propped himself up, then stood up. He looked down at her, his voice cold, "What, do you feel humiliated?"
An Ge sat up. Her face was very pale, with a deep mist in her eyes. She was silent for a while before standing up and walking over to him. She looked up at him and said,
"If Young Master Huo genuinely wants to play, I can accompany him to the end. However, everyone has their bottom line; I won’t be the third party or a mistress. Give me the position of Mrs. Huo, and Young Master Huo can play however he wants."
As she spoke, she untied the belt of her robe and pressed herself against him. Her arms wrapped around his neck, she leaned down and blew warm air into his ear with a soft voice,
"Just, Young Master Huo, make sure you don’t regret it. After all, being entangled with an unplanned pregnancy like mine not only tarnishes your face but brings disgrace to your ancestors. You must think it over... mmm~"
Her words were cut off by a near-brutal kiss. From the sofa in the living room to the master bed, the transition from violence to near-obsession happened in a blink. An Ge did not reject his kiss; on the contrary, she very much liked it. His kiss seductively made her lose her senses. She gradually became addicted, even overwhelmed.
With the window not fully closed, a gust of wind chilled her to the bone, bringing a sliver of clarity back to her mind. She looked at the man with beads of sweat on his nose in the dim light and hoarsely said, "Will you give me the position of Mrs. Huo?"
It was like a bucket of cold water dousing all the dark fire in him. He looked at her small face, damp with passion, and images of An Baoying feeding him the woman’s sordid past kept replaying in his mind. He was despicable. He had fallen for such a woman to this point.
How could he?
An Baoying was carrying his child; he was about to become a father. How could he be irresponsible toward his child? No, he could not allow it!
An instant of clarity made him stop everything. He got up, picked up the discarded shirt from the floor, and casually draped it over himself. Without looking at her, his voice was ruthless, "You can get out."
An Ge silently curled her lips before walking down from the bed. As she passed him, she glanced at his lower body and mocked,
"President Huo, are you reluctant to give up the position of Mrs. Huo, or are you simply incapable?"
Unable to withstand her provocation, but able to stop just in time—such men were either incapable or had exceptional self-control. Her words successfully provoked his male pride.
The man almost immediately dragged her back, pressing her against the floor-to-ceiling window. With his hands on either side of her body, he looked at her with burning eyes, and pronounced each word slowly,
"It’s because you’re too filthy for me to stomach."
An Ge bit her lip, her eyes reddened. She stood there in silence, reigning in everything. She pushed him away and left without looking back.
The next morning, when she woke up, Huo Shaoyan was already gone. As she came downstairs, Uncle Fu was entering with breakfast from outside.
Uncle Fu saw her and cheerfully said,
"The Young Master said you’ll be staying at the [Fengqiao Villa] for a while, and asked me to take care of your daily meals and living arrangements."
An Ge thanked him. After breakfast, she planned to take a walk outside, but was stopped by the bodyguards at the door. She was grounded again. The first two times she was confined at the East Garden of [Huo Mansion], and this time it was at [Fengqiao Villa]. An Ge did not protest. Last night, the man clearly told her he would take her to meet the Lu Family elders, and since he said it, he would certainly arrange it. All she had to do now was wait.
By three in the afternoon, she hadn’t heard from Huo Shaoyan, but she did receive a call from An Baoying.
As soon as the call connected, An Baoying angrily shouted,
"An Ge, even if you’re too scared to come out and face the problem, do you not care about your mother’s life or death?"
An Baoying knew that An Ge cared most about her mother. As expected, An Ge’s emotions were stirred by her words, and she asked, "What happened to my mom?"
An Baoying replied,
"Didn’t Doctor Zhou call you? Post-surgery complications, the situation is bad. They’ve issued a critical condition notice. You better get to the hospital quickly."
With that single line, An Baoying ended the call with An Ge. After hanging up, she entered Fu Rou’s hospital room and told her,
"Aunt, everything is arranged. An Ge will be here soon to see you at the hospital."
She paused, asking, "Did you and Mrs. Lu arrange to meet at the nearby Shore Cafe?"
Fu Rou replied, "I practically had to beg her, and she finally agreed to meet me. When An Ge arrives, you can accompany me there."
An Baoying was more than willing. If she could be seen coming and going with Fu Rou, it would mean her position as Mrs. Huo was secure.
Meanwhile, after finishing the call with An Baoying, An Ge sought a way to evade the bodyguards and surveillance, slipping out from the back door of [Fengqiao Villa]. Nearly an hour later, she reached the hospital. An Baoying was waiting downstairs specifically for her arrival. Upon seeing her, An Ge realized she’d fallen into An Baoying’s trap. But it was too late to leave.
An Baoying approached with two of Fu Rou’s bodyguards and pressed her shoulder, saying to An Ge,
"Sister, I’m truly sorry, I didn’t want this either. But you caused a serious mess, so you must take responsibility. Aunt and Mrs. Lu have been waiting for you next door at the Shore Cafe for a while. Please, sister."
Ten minutes later, An Ge appeared in a private room at the Shore Cafe. Inside, besides Fu Rou and Shen Hongxiu, there was a woman wearing a navy blue qipao. The woman had classic almond-shaped eyes; although she was older, time never triumphed over beauty. She was beautiful. But sharp too. Because as soon as An Ge entered, the woman flung a cup of coffee at her face.
An Ge dodged easily, and the coffee missed. Lu Huai’an’s mother, whose last name was An, came from a prominent family as the daughter of the foremost noble house in the Imperial City—the An Family, and was named An Mingzhu. Generally, women born at the pinnacle of power were rarely easygoing.
On her way there, An Ge had specifically looked up information about An Mingzhu. An Mingzhu had three sons and one daughter; Lu Huai’an was the third child and the only one engaged in business among the Lu siblings, while the other two sons followed their father’s official path.
Although An Mingzhu hadn’t splattered the coffee all over An Ge’s face, coming from a first-rate noble family, she wasn’t entirely without grace. An Ge walked up to her and bowed deeply. After recounting yesterday’s events, she said,
"Mrs. Lu, first, I apologize for injuring Chairman Lu. I’m sorry. But in such a situation, if I hadn’t acted that way, a scandal of three deaths could have arisen. You’re a mother and have a daughter. If your daughter were harassed by a man like that, I think you’d definitely react too..."
Just as she was speaking, a call from Huo Shaoyan came in. An Ge hesitated for a few seconds before answering. The man preempted her, his voice carrying annoyance, crisp and sharp, "You’ve truly crossed the line, where are you?"
