Dimensional Tycoon: I Make Trillions in Every World -
Chapter 68: Seris
Chapter 68: Seris
Truth be told, Mia always favored wizards over cultivators.
She was just more fascinated by them, hoping to see their flashy spells and battles.
Now that Noa had a library filled with martial arts manuals, the first thing she thought was to find magic in it.
It seemed like a wish that couldn’t be fulfilled.
Why would a martial hall created for cultivators have spell books?
But seeing her wide eyes, Noa’s lips curled into a grin, showing his confidence and proud nature simultaneously.
"I think so," he said softly, and looking at his sister’s reaction, he added, "Fireballs shouldn’t be that rare."
"Really?" Mia exclaimed, her ears pricking up.
"Why not? It’s just a compressed qi sphere with a fire attribute. However, it might not be called a fireball—maybe something else," Noa explained, shrugging.
"Qi? What about mana? There is no mana in this world?" Mia asked, still expecting her dream to live on.
Noa shook his head.
"I can add mana to some spaces. But it would only be limited to these very locations, and when you leave them, you can no longer use it."
"That sucks..." his little sister trailed her words. "But whatever, as long as I can make fireballs."
Yun Qiqi was listening to this conversation with interest.
There was so much she couldn’t comprehend, and having a curious mind drove her to ask questions in every possible situation.
"Fire and balls?" she repeated first. "What’s that? How can we play ball if it’s too hot?"
Her genuine words made Noa smirk.
Mia had the same reaction, as looking at Qiqi lifted her spirit even more.
"This is going to be amazing. I bet you will love it as well," she promised, thrilled to see how the little girl or Noa’s other companions would react.
"You think so?" Qiqi asked, trusting Mia.
She was so easily influenced that her eyes lit up, expectation filled her heart, and she started bouncing around the courtyard.
Noa held up his hand, this time actually opening the door.
Yet before stepping into this unknown space, he said softly, as if speaking to a child,
"Be careful. This building doesn’t have insurance."
It sounded like a threat, but didn’t sound like one.
And even though only Mia understood what he meant again, even Yun Qiqi guessed that they had to be careful.
So she gulped, closing her mouth.
Noa took the first step.
He was quickly followed by others as the air shifted instantly.
The scent of books thickened.
Even the temperature dropped so low that each breath became visible like a cloud.
Long rows of bookshelves stretched endlessly.
They vanished into a misty horizon, creating a feeling of crossing over into a different dimension.
The ceiling above was filled with clouds and stars.
Even the starships and constellations were easy to spot, causing everyone to marvel at their beauty.
Yun Qiqi kept her head raised.
Her eyes looked sharp as she scanned the world before her.
She wasn’t speaking.
Not yet.
Mia also walked with silent awe, keeping her mouth shut.
Qing Xuan watched the scene like she was trying to etch everything in her memories.
She was also surprised and judging at the same time.
The same couldn’t be said about her junior sister, as Xue Hanly seemed to be lost in wonder.
Her attention was locked on the floating books.
Unknowingly to her, she was also trembling in excitement.
Chen Hao, meanwhile, looked at the world before him with a slight grin, like a kid discovering books for the first time.
Noa just kept walking, eyes shining.
This very space belonged to him now, and it was time to discover what it could do. But when time stopped to allow him to step closer to the shelves, something moved in his direction.
"Careful!" Mia yelped, instantly appearing in front of him to shield him from harm.
"It’s nothing," Noa said, calming her down.
The thing either wasn’t here before, or it had been hidden between the clouds this entire time.
Soon, a figure emerged out of the misty shelves.
She was cloaked in layers of white fog that rippled like the sea in the breeze.
Her face looked smooth. But it was impossible to focus on her features, as if the world wanted to hide her.
Her loosely tied white hair floated gently.
It was so long that no one could see where it ended.
Everyone froze in front of her, including Noa, who was also curious about her identity.
As he was looking at the being, the world whispered about her power, her status, and her role in this hall.
She stopped just close enough not to hit Noa after bowing to him.
"You are the owner of this realm," she said, acknowledging his presence with a layered, echoing voice. "I recognize your authority."
Her cloudy eyes glowed in silver.
She wasn’t only looking at Noa, ignoring others.
"I am the Librarian," she continued in a smooth tone. "This very world is under my care. You may browse or stay here as you wish."
Noa nodded at her words, liking her attitude.
Though she looked eternal, both inhuman and human at once, he didn’t let the emotions appear on his face.
"Name?" he asked, trying to get to know her better. "What is your name?"
"I am called whatever you want," she answered without blinking.
Time stopped again.
It felt like it needed to breathe once more.
"Name is an honor, and you are the master here," she added, causing Noa to stare at her for a moment.
He rubbed his chin.
He massaged his temples.
She put him on the spot, and coming up with a name made Noa think deeply.
"Alright," he said finally. "Let’s go with Seris."
Suddenly, her figure became transparent. It only lasted for a heartbeat before she adapted to her name and reappeared.
"Very well. I am Seris."
She didn’t frown, but nodded.
Though it was hard to read through her expression, she smiled softly.
Noa noticed her reaction and nodded. "Alright, Seris, can you show us what this place has to offer?"
