Chapter 66: Pill

Yes, Elder Shanq was confused when the pill he had just crafted evolved into something he couldn’t recognize.

Yes, it was caught by the array’s rich spiritual energy without his control.

But what mattered the most was what grade the pills would reach with just Mortal Grade herbs.

Noa didn’t react to his question.

Internally, he was happy with how the situation turned out.

However, on the outside, he continued showing his divine character by acting indifferent about everything.

Even this situation was no different.

"You guessed it right," he said, gesturing for the man to try it. "There is no place for low-grade resources in this room."

Elder Shanq gulped.

His disciple, Lin Yue, also looked at the pill with an open mouth.

Her mind was occupied by the outcome of her performance, so she couldn’t really register what was going on in the outside world.

Yun Qiqi couldn’t contain herself as well.

"Can this big thing make candies?" she asked, causing people to laugh softly. Her hands twitched too. She was fighting against her urges to touch something.

Mia agreed.

"Imagine candy that explodes or carries deadly venom. I bet it’s gonna be a hit."

Though she was practically an adult, the idea of living her fantasy and doing everything in this world was too strong for her to resist.

Mia clapped her hands, thinking about countless possibilities.

To their surprise, Noa agreed as well.

"Sounds good. What’s the point of having an alchemy lab without having fun in it?" he said and lowered his brows, thinking about something.

"But I should add a better one in the store for you two to play around."

These words were met with two different reactions.

"Hooray!" Yun Qiqi exclaimed and began running around the room.

"I knew it. My brother is the best," Mia added, satisfied to test the limit of this Xianxia world.

The second reaction?

It was completely different.

Not only did Noa promise to add an even better alchemy lab in the store, but he wanted to use it for fun.

Only he would dare say and then do something like that.

But somehow, no one in the room doubted that he would do that with a straight face.

"We should try it."

Meanwhile, the young alchemist, Lin Yue, couldn’t wait anymore.

She had already reached her limit, and she might swallow the pill at any moment.

Even her hands started trembling.

Now, all eyes landed on her, but no movement or sound existed in the room. As always, they waited for Noa to give a word of approval.

He, however, had no problem with them checking how the pill turned out.

On the contrary, Noa might have been even more eager to see what this new product had to offer.

So he nodded and checked the system panel.

It was amazing indeed, and the gesture Noa made allowed the girl to satisfy her curiosity.

Lin Yue then glanced at her master.

Elder Shanq’s desire to see what the pill could do was also high, but as an elder, he left the first taste for his disciple, smiling at her.

The girl gulped.

Not once or twice but thrice.

Then she reached for the still-floating pill.

It had long harvested energy from the formation, devouring qi from the array like a hungry beast.

Lin Yue felt the coldness of it with a brief touch.

She swallowed it in one gulp, expecting a surge of energy to explode in her mouth.

For a moment, nothing happened.

It still needed some time for the body to start absorbing it.

Suddenly, her breathing slowed.

Though she was only inhaling once per thirty seconds, her face looked calm, showing no hint of discomfort.

Tension in her shoulders seemed to fade as well.

Somehow, every sound in the room felt closer, more distinct, as if she could distinguish people by it.

A moment later, Noa reached into his pockets.

He took an unpacked fidget spinner and threw it at her.

Lin Yue blinked, her eyes still closed, and stepped slightly behind.

The toy Noa had thrown at her broke off, but landed right at her previous location.

Everything happened instantly.

Noa’s action, the girl’s speedy reaction, and her glowing meridians that showed no signs of stopping spoke volumes about just how powerful the pill had turned out to be.

"I-I can feel everything," she mumbled.

Her eyes remained closed for a moment.

"I just knew I had to move or something would happen. It happened before I even registered what was happening."

Lin Yue explained her situation.

Elder Shanq massaged his temples and shared an opinion of his own.

"Your qi still flows almost the same. Your instincts... they are sharpened," he said, his voice trailing for a moment.

But before he could add more, Wei Rou frowned.

"She didn’t break through. The pill touched her subconscious, which is rare. I have taken only one in my entire life, and it was a present from the previous sect leader."

Silence descended after his words.

Applicants who wanted to experience the pill’s effects increased in a heartbeat.

Even elders fared no better.

This included Elder Jin, who, despite having no knowledge of alchemy, also wanted to try crafting such a pill for himself.

Noa, however, had other plans.

"Let’s leave this place for alchemy folks and let them do their things. There is still a lot we have to do."

His voice was enough to silence the thoughts the crowd had.

And his words also made sense.

The migration process wasn’t easy.

They still had hundreds of disciples to bring on this mountain and also finish building the sleeping quarters.

So, when Noa took the lead and left the building, people followed him like sheep after their shepherd.

However, he wasn’t done here.

Not yet.

The system had a lot more customization options that he had yet to try.
