Chapter 382 Snake Princess
Chapter 382: Chapter 382 Snake Princess
Yu Sheng was startled the moment he saw the giant snake. There were two main reasons for this surprise: First, he had never seen such a large snake before. The biggest monster he had seen in his life was a fox girl about the size of two minibuses. Second, he had never seen a creature with so many heads—there was even a human head among them!
But more than being scared, he was shocked by the monstrous knot that had been tied on it.
That was really damned wicked.
The giant snake itself was cursing up a storm, "You all are not human, are you?! Where did you find this bunch of ancestors-with-lost-morals to bully a protective animal like me—a little butterfly knot at least would’ve been decent!"
The moment the monster finished speaking, Yu Sheng saw two Thunderbolt Titans walk over from the edge of the square and, with a few swift moves, untied the snake and tied a butterfly knot on it...
Now he knew who was responsible for this wicked behavior.
After being messed with again, the snake lay sprawled out in the square, cursing feebly, clearly lacking the energy it had earlier. One of its seven heads, which bizarrely resembled a husky, suddenly perked up and started straining forward, trying to nibble on the dry food in a nearby cultivator’s hand.
"For god’s sake, can you stop eating?! I’m really fed up with such calamity... Yuan He, you old devil, I’ll eat you one day!"
Watching this scene from atop Hu Li’s head, Yu Sheng was dumbfounded. After a long pause, he couldn’t help but look down at Xuan Che, "Who is this? Why does she look so... different from the other captured beasts? Did she also escape from the Demon Suppression Tower?"
"She is the Snake Princess," Xuan Che sighed in response and explained helplessly, "She was originally a great demon who achieved enlightenment near the Netherworld Valley, but after consuming some toxic swamp fruits, her mind was damaged. She succumbed to demonic influence during her tribulation and committed many atrocities. My master and I teamed up to subdue this demon. Originally, her demonic bones were to be shattered to disperse her mind as a heavy punishment, but my master uncle took pity on her for having been a ’Mountain God’ serving the local people obediently for years after accidentally eating the offerings provided by villagers. She was locked up in the Demon Suppression Tower instead.
"She has been imprisoned for years and was relatively obedient until this escape. Perhaps thinking she had a chance to regain her honor, she caused a great turmoil... Thank goodness Miss Bai Xue came to help."
Upon hearing this, Yu Sheng dumbly lifted his head and glanced again at the snake, now weakly muttering curses while tied with a butterfly knot on the ground, "...She seems to have a huge grudge against your master uncle."
"My master uncle indeed let her off with leniency, feeling that mere imprisonment wouldn’t solve the problem, hoping to rescue her back to righteousness by using his proud Beast Taming skills. After all, he’s technically a veterinarian, and this approach is quite fitting according to the folks at the Boundary Land," Xuan Che said, suddenly showing an awkward expression, "But it turned out there was a bit of a medical accident."
Hearing this, Yu Sheng’s eyebrow twitched instinctively, his gaze landing on the husky-headed snake.
Xuan Che also noticed his gaze and nodded awkwardly, "This head was originally refined by my master uncle and added to the Snake Princess to quell her demonic qi and violent tendencies, drawing out her original kind and peaceful heart, but for some reason, it ended up like this... Not that it’s totally ineffective, she used to be much crazier without it. With this head, however, she’s just crazy in a different way, now dead set on eating my master uncle."
Listening to this, Yu Sheng was stunned, and even Erin on his shoulder was taken aback, only catching on after a while, staring blankly at Xuan Che, "Hey, come on... don’t you have any good doctors in Qianfeng Ling Mountain?!"
Xuan Che bowed, "My master uncle has been extremely remorseful over the years and has tried various ways to make amends—but the Snake Princess won’t cooperate."
Erin: "I wouldn’t cooperate either! Damn quack! I’m telling you, I find your motive for developing that Medical Disturbance Explosion Fist very suspicious..."
Xuan Che: "..."
The giant snake sprawled on the ground heard the commotion and lifted its heads, staring straight at Erin, "This little sister is quite reasonable; her words are very pleasant to hear... If you’re ever able to help me escape, I’ll let you have a slice of Yuan He’s heart and liver, how about that?"
"I’m not hungry, don’t need it," Erin waved her hand dismissively, pointing at Yu Sheng, "Give it to him, he’ll eat anything."
Seeing the conversation veer off track, Yu Sheng quickly coughed a few times to interrupt the babbling of the little puppet, trying hard to ignore the bizarre snake demon beside him, and turned to Xuan Che, "Is there anything else that needs help with here? How’s the situation with your master?"
"I’m alright here, just some injured people needing treatment—but luckily, this is Queyun Palace so there’s no shortage of top-tier pills," Xuan Che immediately replied, "My master just sent a message saying several spots in the Demon Suppression Tower were severely damaged. Although he used Divine Skills to forcibly seal all the leaks, the damaged mechanical devices and sealing facilities need immediate repair, so he can’t come away right now."
He paused, then added, "Fortunately, True Man Qianji is here, and as an expert in mechanical techniques, he’s personally helping with repairs in the tower. The Demon Suppression Tower should recover soon enough, moreover..."
Xuan Che looked up, directing his gaze towards Master Yuan Hao, who was flying while wielding the chainsaw sword in mid-air.
"Master Uncle, the Master also asked you to quickly go to the tower and help—right now, besides True Man Qianji, you’re the one who knows Mechanical Techniques and Artifact Refining best."
"Alright," Master Yuan Hao nodded, "I’ll head there right away."
"Then I’ll open a door for you later, and we can go together. I was going to check out the situation there as well," Yu Sheng said immediately, then glanced at Xuan Che, "Is there anything else to mention?"
Xuan Che thought for a moment, clasping his hands in a salute, "Nothing else, just that there’s still chaos in the mountains; many entities like escaped beings from the Containment Zone, ferocious criminals, and strange creatures haven’t been recaptured. Remind the ’Fairy Tales’ people not to wander alone in the forests—of course, I’ve seen how strong some experts are; ordinary monsters can’t take them on, but the younger children should stay indoors for now."
"Got it," Yu Sheng nodded and then turned to Cinderella, who was sitting in her pumpkin carriage parked on the plaza, "So, head back and remind the ’parents’ waiting in the valley to keep an eye on the little ones. Also, inform Dorothy and the others still helping around to be cautious—this isn’t the Boundary Land, and who knows what might exceed everyone’s combat experience, so don’t be reckless."
Cinderella nodded immediately, "Okay, got it!"
"Long Hair, you go with Cinderella," Yu Sheng looked at the long-haired princess sitting with him on the demon fox, intently petting its fur, "You’re strong in combat; once back, stay on the Cloud Viewing Platform to assist returning comrades."
"Oh," The long-haired princess reluctantly lifted her head from the furry pile but couldn’t resist suddenly lying down to rub vigorously against Hu Li’s silvery-white fur, mumbling, "Oh, so comfy... Brother, could you let Hu Li give me a tail? I’m used to hugging something when I sleep..."
Yu Sheng raised an eyebrow, "As long as you don’t mind that thing blowing up all of a sudden, that’s fine. Just a heads up—Hu Li’s tails explode more intensely than the aerial bombs Dorothy throws down."
Long Hair immediately shrank back, curling into a golden fluffy ball rolling off Hu Li’s back, right into Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage.
Zheng Zhi, standing in front of the pumpkin carriage, hesitated for a moment and pointed at himself, "So, Brother Yu, I...?"
"You come with me," Yu Sheng said without hesitation, "Let’s go see what’s happening in the Demon Suppression Tower."
Zheng Zhi grinned, "Alright."
With that, Yu Sheng jumped down from Hu Li’s back with Erin, raising his hand to open a door leading to the core containment area of the Demon Suppression Tower. Hu Li also backed away a few steps, rolled into human form on the spot, and eagerly ran over—no one knew what she was expecting, but whenever she went out with her "Savior," she always looked this eager.
Afterward, Yu Sheng and his group crossed the door, vanishing outside the main hall of Queyun Palace.
In the plaza of the main hall, the large snake "Snake Princess," still tied up in a butterfly knot, raised her heads to watch Yu Sheng’s group depart, pondering something unknown, suddenly shouted, "Monster!!"
Xuan Che felt his head throb, "Snake Princess, could you calm down?"
"That hairy monster just now, that floating-tailed fox monster, that mechanical monster with iron skin and blade fingers, and that door-opening monster—aren’t they creepier than me?" Snake Princess’s heads buzzed with discontent, and the only movable tip of her tail jabbed the nearby stone pavement vigorously, splintering it, "Why am I the one locked in the Demon Suppression Tower listening to your master and disciples babble? You should capture them too!"
"They’re not monsters; they’re from a reputable sect," Xuan Che solemnly looked at the snake, knowing she was being unreasonable but remained patient, "They’re experts from the Boundary Land."
"Reputable sect, just because they say so? Do they have a license or something?"
Xuan Che shrugged, "Yes, they have a Spirit Realm detective license issued by the Boundary Land, recognized in eighty percent of the universe. Also, we’re holding you because you tend to harm people once you break free."
"...So what?"
Xuan Che: "..."
Feeling unable to communicate with the big snake, he could only sigh deeply, leaving her aside to focus on handling the situation with his fellow disciples.
