Chapter 11: Counterterrorism??

Lin Xu sat up from the bed. At this moment, the number on his bracelet showed a “2.”  

Two chances left.  

However, he wasn’t in a hurry to enter the Bracelet World again. Instead, he first sat down at the computer and updated three new pieces of information on the clue document.  

The first: There were no offices for himself or Jiang Xingye in Tianqiong Technology’s headquarters, and phone calls to them showed disconnected numbers.

If he had such high permissions, even after being transferred, how could he not retain even a basic office at headquarters?  

These pieces of information contradicted each other logically, leaving Lin Xu puzzled.

She was not at Tianqiong Technology’s headquarters.

“The situation has changed. Mission suspended.”  

“I want to go in and take a look first. Wait here.”  

“I’m coming with you!”  

Skull Head said decisively, but Lin Xu ignored him, only tossing a “If you’re coming, hurry up” over his shoulder, then swiftly headed toward security.  

Iris scan, registration, all in one smooth flow.  

Lin Xu and Skull Head walked into the lobby one after another and took the elevator straight to the 15th floor.  

That was where Tianqiong Technology’s Human Resources Department was located. Lin Xu remembered that there was an office labeled “HRD,” which meant Human Resources Director.  

If he could get into that office, with his permissions, as long as he could access the computer, there was a high chance he could get Tianqiong Technology’s personnel information.  

After getting the information and the latest contact details, all he needed was to borrow someone’s phone on the street and call Jiang Xingye.  

Plan approved √.  

Lin Xu’s steps were steady, moving with familiarity.  

Seeing his actions, Skull Head couldn’t help but ask:  

“You’re not the boss, so you’re going home?”  

“How do you know so well? What do you mean? Are you a mole?”  

“...That’s a question you’ve asked countless times, and I always have to think about how to answer.”  

Lin Xu glanced at Skull Head helplessly and said:  

“Promise me, if I don’t speak, don’t ask anything, okay?”  

Skull Head didn’t say anything and made a “received” tactical gesture with his hand, then obediently stayed silent.  

When the elevator reached the 15th floor, the doors opened, and Lin Xu immediately stepped out.

There was someone inside!  

Lin Xu cautiously pushed open the door with some suspicion. When he saw the man inside, he froze for a moment.  

He had seen him before.

The man also looked up at him.  

“Hey? President Lin?”  

“Coming back to the company so late?”

There was no doubt that this man, whose name tag read “He Xin,” was the current HRD of Tianqiong Technology.  

Really like coming home for a pillow when sleepy, or to an uncle when homesick.

He entered the office. He Xin smiled warmly and said:  

“You work too hard... If you need anything, just tell me. I’m always on standby.”  

“You work hard too.”

“Do you have the latest employee list? Including roster and contact details?”  

“Yes, yes, should I open it for you now or send it later?”  

He Xin was very enthusiastic, which further confirmed Lin Xu’s guess.  

His status in the company was definitely high. It was very likely that stepping down as CEO was just a normal personnel transfer, and maybe he had been appointed to an even stronger position.  

Since that was the case, Lin Xu no longer held back.  

Power must be used when available.  

He said:  

“No need to send it. I just want to find someone.”  

“Jiang Xingye. Do you have her information?”  

As soon as he spoke, He Xin was stunned for a moment.  

Lin Xu clearly noticed the flicker in his eyes several times.  

But soon, his expression returned to normal.  

“Yes, yes.”  

He Xin cleared his throat and said:  

“But her information is classified. I can’t get it here.”  

“President Lin, why don’t you wait here for a moment? I’ll go get it for you.”

Lin Xu nodded and walked directly to a nearby sofa to sit down.  

Skull Head silently stood beside him, assuming a protective stance.  

He Xin glanced at the two of them, then quickly walked out of the office.  

Lin Xu didn’t know where he was going to find Jiang Xingye’s information or how long it would take.  

But intuitively, it was reasonable that Jiang Xingye’s information was classified and required a special process to retrieve.  

So he waited.  

Lin Xu leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes to rest. But after a full five minutes, He Xin still hadn’t returned.

Lin Xu walked to the window and looked out at the night view.  

At that moment, he suddenly noticed some red and blue flashing lights on the road outside the Tianqiong Technology campus.  

Then, faint sirens could be heard.  

Before he could figure out what was happening, Skull Head, who had just sat down, suddenly stood up abruptly.  

At this moment, he no longer cared about the gag order Lin Xu had given him.  

He quietly listened to the information transmitted through his concealed earpiece, then cursed angrily:  

“Damn!”  

“Boss, can you do anything or not?!”  

“Your identity as a mole has been exposed! Someone called the police!”  

“Move! We have to rush out now!”

Lin Xu was stunned.

Why call the police?  

I just wanted some information, and you guys call the police??

Skull Head’s expression was extremely tense.  

“We have to leave immediately!”  

“Forget about continuing the mission. We can’t fight them!”  

“They’re not police! They’re the damn military!”
