It was good at first, but as it went on, the main character became more emotional, sacrificing himself for his friends, but he kept saying that being logical and profiting is more important than emotions. He doesn't have the ability to kill women, and the author kills the main character's female enemies at the hands of other evil people to keep the main character pure. He has no defense against women. For example, a man and a woman attacked him and he saved himself. Then suddenly something strange happened and he pulled the woman behind him to protect her!!! He becomes more emotional as he goes on, discussions are raised that are easy to guess, but he spends several chapters guessing, thinking and guessing so much and explaining that you forget what the experiment was about.

This book has been surprisingly good so far. It reminds me a lot of the early chapters of magus of a wizarding world and age of adepts. It should definitely be on your read list if your into dark fantasy and even though it's dark fantasy the main character isn't super cynical.

I'm in agreement with the review below mine, from 'Hated !'. Without spoilers, the beginning is quite immersive but later on it all goes down hill.

if you like to read novels to completion, maybe don't read this.

I was initially drawn to this novel because of its unique and intriguing concept. The idea of body modifications, and how the pursuit of knowledge can lead to mutation, contamination, and other unintended consequences, was refreshing and thought-provoking. In the beginning, the story was genuinely engaging. However, after around 390 chapters, the plot started to spiral out of control, becoming increasingly disjointed and unfocused. As a result, my interest began to wane.

One of the most glaring issues was the presence of major plot holes. For instance, why are there no divination spells? If the core profession in this world involves seeking death to gain knowledge and strength, then there should at least be some form of magical foresight or assurance—something to help ensure survival long enough to benefit from such risks. Yet, in this story, wizards seem to lose all rationality whenever treasure appears, rushing into danger with reckless abandon.

Another strange element was a key plot point early in the story involving Yura. Instead of trying to create entirely new bodies from scratch, wouldn’t it have made more sense to use Kira, a living relative, as a genetic base? They could have explored the use of test tube baby methods and combined that with body modification technology to produce new, stable clone bodies. The chosen approach felt unnecessarily convoluted and inefficient.

Furthermore, despite being framed as a story about wizardry, the novel often strays from that path. The main character learns a few spells in the beginning, but eventually shifts focus toward creating domain techniques. As the story progresses, spells and traditional magic take a backseat, and magical artifacts are rarely emphasized. If you're building a wizard-centric world, the narrative should ideally focus more on the development of spells, unique magical systems, and powerful enchanted items—but unfortunately, that aspect was severely underdeveloped.

The story is genuinely intriguing, with a cast of characters that feel layered and compelling not one dimensional like in many other novels. While it shares some similarities with Warlock of the Magus World, I’d say this one does it better. The main character stands out he’s actually intelligent and deeply pragmatic, someone who does what needs to be done without hesitation. The world itself is grim and unforgiving, filled with horrors that add real tension and weight to every decision. That darkness doesn’t feel forced it makes everything more unpredictable and engaging.

I really enjoy the story. I would say that it's similar to RI (Reverend Insanity) in the sense that the world is a warzone where major powers only fight for their own interests and don't care about the weak, but there are still people who are altruistic/decent moral compass. One of the major reasons why I couldn't really get into RI was because of how cynical/ruthless Fang Yuan felt to me (I understand he needed to do that to achieve immortality, and that it was the norm in cultivation but it just rubbed the wrong way). I felt that I could relate to Saul much more than Fang Yuan because while Saul does have a similar goal to FY with getting strong enough to survive he still feels guilt.

TLDR:

(RN Chapter 85)

World Building: 10/10 I like the premise and it seems like the world is going to expanded further.

Plot: 9/10 Basic transmigration story but no golden finger just a 30ish (? doesn't tell his age) office worker starting from scratch.

Characters: 9/10 I like the characters they don't seem flat and have their own motivations and reasons.

This novel deserves to be top 10. Really good world building, author ties up every character properly. Mc is also not dumb. This novel should be up there with RI and lotm

Finished the whole thing.

the novel was pretty good upto a certain point, wherein the author makes everything very abstract and inconsistencies began to rise rapidly (author themselves admitted it, don't dislike me for this). Still good tho.
