Detective Agency of the Bizarre -
Chapter 766 - 766 285
766: 285.
The Exorcist tells the final answer 766: 285.
The Exorcist tells the final answer Although Mishelia’s rumor tragedy happened less than a week ago, discussions about the tragedy have already disappeared from the newspapers.
However, the rumor tragedy has become a regular theme on the radio.
Because it is rich in storytelling and touches the heart.
“A virtuous lower-class girl suffered from the cruelty of rumors, despairingly committed suicide, and turned into a ghost to take revenge on all who bullied her” – a perfect subject for a novel.
It is said that some novelists in Himfast are already preparing to write about it.
“What do you think?”
Anna sympathized with Mishelia, even though Mishelia once tried to attack Lu Li.
She thought if it happened to her, she would definitely kill…
definitely teach those people a hard lesson.
Whoosh—
Lu Li put down the newspaper, calmly looking at Anna: “About what.”
Anna pointed to the radio broadcast talking about Mishelia’s rumor tragedy: “Mishelia’s tragedy.”
“You’ve already said it.” Lu Li prepared to continue reading the newspaper.
Whoosh—
Anna pressed the newspaper down: “What did I say?”
“A tragedy.” Worried Anna wouldn’t understand, Lu Li added: “That’s my thought.”
“But why did it happen?” Anna snatched the newspaper, trying to get Lu Li to say more.
“Why did those people treat a girl that way…”
Anna thought Lu Li would say “human nature” or something else, but Lu Li thought for a moment and said: “Because the transmission of information through communication results in information being lost, and entropy keeps increasing.”
“Hmm…” Anna nodded steadily, trying hard to look like she understood.
But she still held onto the newspaper, not returning it to Lu Li.
“For example, Old Francis lost 100 Shillings, so he told Big Francis they could only eat dark bread these days.
Big Francis told Little Francis that his father’s money was lost and they couldn’t afford other food.
Little Francis told others that their father’s money was stolen and they had no money for food.”
“Information gets lost during transmission due to many reasons.”
After listening, Anna quietly returned the newspaper to Lu Li.
“Understood?” Lu Li took the newspaper, calmly meeting Anna’s clear gaze.
“Hmm…”
Anna guiltily shifted her gaze away.
The Detective Agency returned to tranquility.
Time silently passed by until it was suddenly disrupted by the thud of something heavy falling.
Whoosh—
Lu Li put down the newspaper once again, seeing Anna by the windowsill looking worried, along with the flower pot lying shattered on the floor, soil scattered around.
Anna seemed to have been trying to catch the falling flower pot.
But she forgot she was a ghost.
“I didn’t mean to…” Anna, who caused the trouble, spoke in an increasingly small voice.
“It’s nothing.”
Lu Li continued reading the newspaper.
Anna quickly cleaned the floor, and Lu Li also finished reading today’s newspaper.
He stacked the three-part newspaper with the previous issues and stood up to head to the door.
“Where are you going?”
“To get some water.”
Lu Li left the Detective Agency empty-handed and came back the same way shortly after.
Twenty minutes later, Anna saw the water Lu Li mentioned: a wooden tub filled with hot water was carried into the kitchen.
“Are you going to take a bath?” Anna suddenly asked.
“Yes, going out in a while.”
Lu Li walked into the kitchen and closed the door.
Anna’s inner thoughts began to stir, restraining the urge to rush in—did Lu Li just say he’s going out…?
“Have you started washing?”
In the end, desire overcame reason, and Anna by the door asked.
“Not yet.” A faint answer came from behind the door, separated by the wood.
Anna moved closer to the door, trying to hear more clearly.
But she forgot again that she was a ghost, accidentally getting too close, her cheek passing through the thin wooden door, appearing in the kitchen.
The clear outline of a figure leaped into Anna’s view.
“Ah!
Didn’t you say you weren’t washing?” Anna screamed with a blushing face, as if being attacked, retreating back to the center of the living room.
“Indeed, I’m not washing.” Lu Li turned his head to ask toward the door: “So what’s up?”
After a moment, Anna’s bashful voice came into the kitchen: “Did you just say you were going out?”
“To buy a flower pot and some ingredients.”
“Then…
then can you take me out too…”
“Sure.”
The sound of water continued for a while in the kitchen, finally settling in tranquility after a loud splash of water.
“Can you bring me my clothes?
They’re in the wardrobe.”
Lu Li’s voice came from the kitchen.
There was no response, so he raised his voice a little: “Can you bring me my clothes?
They’re in the wardrobe.”
Anna, who was daydreaming about going out with Lu Li, snapped back to reality: “Huh?
What?”
“Nothing.”
Squeak—
The wooden kitchen door suddenly opened, a shadow appeared in Anna’s view.
In a fleeting glance, her mind was filled with sharp muscle curves and a slender figure.
Anna hastily covered her eyes in embarrassment, but missed with her force, her pale, ethereal palm sank into her head.
“What…
what are you doing…”
A panicked Anna shut her eyes tightly and turned around.
She felt her heart pounding.
Though she had no body, let alone a heart.
“Getting clothes.”
Lu Li replied.
The sound of bare feet stepping on the floor echoed as he walked past Anna’s back.
Squeak—
The wardrobe door in the bedroom was opened.
“So you just…
you just…” Anna stammered, struggling to say: “Did you come out without any clothes?”
“Wearing a blanket.” Lu Li answered.
The sound of rustling clothes came from the bedroom, and two minutes later, Lu Li, dressed in clean clothes, returned to the living room.
“Don’t leave my side.”
Lu Li said, as he brought Anna who hid in the Inner World, out of the Detective Agency and onto the street.
Pedestrians crowded about, and an indelible fishy smell permeated the Sailor District.
It originated from the fish drying on ropes and from the sailors who lived there.
Lu Li bought a new flower pot at the market, and the shop owner gave him some seeds for free, though everyone knew they wouldn’t grow.
Then, at Anna’s suggestion, he bought the ingredients: pork, carrots, onions, and some spices.
“The Detective Agency’s books are almost finished.”
Anna whispered in his ear, so Lu Li went to the bookstore at the corner of the alley to pick out some romance novels and returned to the Detective Agency.
“I’ll make dinner.”
Lu Li told Anna, who was eager to try.
Although Lu Li usually didn’t care much about the taste of food, he didn’t want these ingredients to be wasted.
Anna was a little disappointed; she was just preparing to showcase her skills and get a compliment from Lu Li.
After dinner, night fell.
The Detective Agency was lit by the glow of an oil lamp.
Anna whispered something to the newly bought flower pot and then drew the curtains.
At eight o’clock in the evening, Lu Li entered the bedroom to rest.
The peaceful day ended.
“Will we always be like this?”
Anna’s voice came from the living room, filled with longing for the future.
Lu Li took off his coat and hung it on the coat rack behind the door: “If the world doesn’t get worse.”
After a moment, Anna’s gentle voice sounded.
“No matter what, I’ll always protect you.”
There was no response, but Anna didn’t feel disappointed.
In the gradually quieting Detective Agency, she spoke to Lu Li, who was falling asleep in bed:
“Goodnight.”
