437: Two hundred ninety-four.

[Cries for Help in the Alley], Resolved 437: Two hundred ninety-four.

[Cries for Help in the Alley], Resolved Jojo escaped from the alley and hid back by Lu Li’s side.

“Don’t go into the alley, that’s her soul projection,” Anna warned Lu Li.

The figure in the alley remained motionless, everything coming to a standstill.

But soon, a deep and slow voice drifted from the depths beyond the reach of the oil lamp’s light.

“It’s you again…”

At the edge of the oil lamp’s range, where light and darkness merged into dimness, a woman’s face emerged, her blood-soaked pupils staring at Lu Li with full of malice.

His hand reached for the first sequence, Lu Li turned his head and asked Anna, “Can we beat her?”

“Wherever your blade points,” Anna lifted a smile, her silk-like short hair dancing, her body emanating the aura of vengeful spirits.

The bloodstained face of the woman kept a tight gaze on Lu Li, murmuring, “What are you talking about…

Why don’t you come closer to speak…”

“Alright.”

Lu Li took steps toward the alley.

The vengeful spirit’s attention was all on that figure, overlooking Anna who was prepared at the side, as well as the hand Lu Li had placed on his waist.

Da—da—

Rain boots landed, dispersing the murky muddy water.

As Lu Li moved toward the alley, carrying the oil lamp, its light followed his motion, dragging the vengeful spirit’s dark body into range.

It was a distorted body, with no clothing, covered only with a layer of ugly, rainwater-resistant mud.

“Evil…” Jojo’s scalp tingled and she instinctively took a few steps back.

Lu Li’s gaze briefly passed over the male contours.

So these figures were the original attackers?

Da—

Lu Li continued walking forward, the tip of his shoe touching the edge of the alley and the other leg stepping out, coming to a standstill.

He stopped outside the alley.

“Why don’t you come in…”

“Then I can’t help you.”

As soon as the words fell, Lu Li raised his arm, the artistically beautiful Spirit-Calling Gun extending forward, a rose petal quietly blooming.

Bang!

A tongue of flame enveloped in thunder burst forth, the spinning silver-plated bullet leaving a trace in the air, drilling into the unprepared vengeful spirit’s skull.

Dang—

The bullet casing fell into the puddle at his feet, making an almost imperceptible collision sound.

The woman’s crimson pupils flickered, a cold and painful scream suddenly spreading.

The rainwater above the alley was momentarily blocked, then it fell even more fiercely.

Jojo quickly covered her ears, but the sharp and piercing sound seemed to echo in her mind, shaking her soul.

But closer to the vengeful spirit than her was Lu Li, unharmed, with Anna shielding him in the front, charging towards the woman.

The two vengeful spirits released their energy unrestrainedly in front of the alley, the frenzied and cold aura filling the surroundings.

Jojo suddenly felt the rain around her disappear, repelled outside the alley, only suffocating evil intent and hateful curses blowing out of the alley.

Anna, in her outbreak, became entangled with the vengeful spirit.

The three silhouettes standing at the edge began to move, their heads turning woodenly, soulless eyes looking towards Lu Li, walking up to him.

Bang!

Bang!

The deafening roar of the gun resounded, two of the silhouettes dissolving like reflections on a lake, twisting away.

Crack—

Lu Li cast aside the Spirit-Calling Gun, the second and third sequences falling to the ground alongside the bullet casings.

He reached for the fourth sequence, but one silhouette had already rushed up to Lu Li, hugging him, its malicious coldness invading Lu Li’s body, freezing him, losing control over himself.

“Lu Li!”

Anna, who was always watching Lu Li, suddenly filled her eyes with lava-like crimson.

“I’ll kill you!!!”

A pitch-black shadow detached from Anna, walking slowly toward the embraced Lu Li, entering the silhouette’s body from behind, taking over its body and consciousness.

Just at that moment, an abrupt change occurred.

“Aaahh!”

Anna suddenly clutched her head and let out a heart-wrenching scream as the cold breath attacking the resentful spirit uncontrollably erupted.

The face of the resentful spirit opposite her twisted into a hideous smile, its mouth full of broken, jagged teeth.

The contour was the Soul Projection of a woman, filled with her hatred and emotions towards her abuser, and Anna, like a blank sheet of paper, couldn’t bear this dark and heavy memory.

Bang!

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.

The contour embracing Lu Li shattered, leaving only Anna’s shadow covering it, still embracing Lu Li.

The connected consciousness broke off, and as Anna regained her senses, she gasped for air, clutching her forehead, trying to control her breath and resist the resentful spirit, but she was already at a disadvantage.

Tap—tap—tap—

Footsteps suddenly came from behind her.

Lu Li tossed aside the smoking Spirit-Calling Gun Model 4 and stepped into the Dark Alley, took out Model 1, ejected the spent shell, and loaded a silver-plated bullet, moving step by step towards Anna and the resentful spirit.

Click—

Pulling the trigger, the hand holding Model 1 stretched out from over Anna’s shoulder, pressing the barrel against the face of the resentful spirit.

“Stop!!!”

The resentful spirit cried out sharply, howling as it tried to dodge, but Anna’s sudden burst of Spiritual Energy entangled it.

It was then that Lu Li pulled the trigger.

Bang!!!

The silver-plated bullet drilled unreservedly into the head of the resentful spirit, exiting from the back of the skull.

“Aaahhhh!!”

The woman shrieked, her violent aura lashing out towards Lu Li like a tide; Anna protected Lu Li, but she herself was not spared and was flung backward by the burst of energy.

Lu Li reached out to grab her, but his hand passed through her ethereal soul.

At that moment, the scenery around them suddenly changed.

Gloomy clouds obscured the midday sky, drizzling with light rain.

The hazy, rain-soaked street was sparsely populated with pedestrians.

A few homeless people hiding in the alley to escape the rain were looking out into the street.

A stunning figure approached from the side of the street; she looked very young, walking with an umbrella held aloft.

Lu Li watched as the young woman reached the entrance of the alley and was then suddenly grabbed by the mouth and dragged into the alley by three homeless men.

The woman was not without hope—her umbrella and shoes were left outside the alley, seen by passersby.

But when the woman momentarily broke free and ran to the mouth of the alley to plead for help, a hand clutched her hair and yanked her back.

She saw hesitation in the eyes of the person who turned and walked away.

“Why won’t you save me…”

Despair enveloped the woman.

At this moment, Lu Li suddenly started walking into the Dark Alley.

“You want to meddle—”

A tall homeless man came head-on, only to be suddenly grabbed by Lu Li by the dirty, greasy hair and viciously slammed against the wall.

Crack—

A splash of an indistinct colored liquid burst against the wall, and as Lu Li let go, the homeless man’s body slowly slid down.

The remaining two homeless men, terror-stricken and gripping their heads, ran off screaming.

Lu Li walked towards the woman sitting dazed on the ground and held out his hand to her.

That tear-streaked, beautiful face lifted to look at Lu Li, and the scene around them changed once again.

The dim light from an oil lamp lit up the increasingly dark alley as a violent downpour replaced the drizzle, splashing down like bucketfuls of water.

The woman becoming ethereal looked up with a dirty face at Lu Li and his outstretched hand.

Tears accumulated in her eyes and fell, her outline growing fainter and fainter, until she completely disappeared.

Rain mixed with her tears, falling to the earth.
