Detective Agency of the Bizarre -
Chapter 246 - 246 103
246: 103.
Color Room 246: 103.
Color Room All stood behind the door on the ground, Lu Li closed the room door, blocking off an ocean and two lines of sight aiming their way.
Owen couldn’t help but size up Lu Li a few times, seeing no emotion other than being completely drenched, nothing of disarray or calmness.
He couldn’t help but exclaim, “I see not a hint of hesitation or confusion in you…
truly a terrifying man.”
“…?” Lu Li silently looked over.
[Each companion is invaluable, and it is unity that makes us strong.
But when forced apart, are we broken one by one, or do we overcome the hazards?]
The room no longer contained dark swamps, towering mazes, or raging deep seas.
Five differently colored passages appeared in front of him, accompanied by a narrating voice, laying everything before his eyes.
[Try relying on yourself to overcome the challenges ahead.]
Lu Li could see these.
They were no illusion; the five colored passages truly existed.
“I choose red!”
Before Owen could analyze anything, Doma put down her weapon she carried on her shoulder and charged into the red passage.
The red wooden door closed behind her.
“Then I’ll take blue, someone has to choose it, right?” Fran asked, desiring the ocean, before heading into the blue passage.
Likewise, the blue wooden door closed automatically behind him.
Daniel, without saying a word, stepped into the pink room…
Owen thought he would compete with Lu Li for the black one.
“That’s it, may the best man win.” Owen didn’t bother to analyze any further and stepped into the middle green passage.
Everyone had entered their respective passages, Lu Li looked around once more, and finally walked into the black passage.
Squeak—
The door closed behind him.
…
Doma turned to look at the automatically closing door, and when she turned back, a ghostly figure materialized in front of the passage.
[You must pass the trial to get through here.]
A cold, hoarse voice emanated from the ghostly figure.
“Defeating you would get me through too!”
Doma raised her weapon and struck down with a howling force!
A dwarf puppet emerged from the ghostly figure and crashed to the ground.
[It’s futile.
To get past, you must solve the puzzle.]
The cold, hoarse voice rang out again, met by a second sweeping gust.
…
Fran stumbled, ducking from the punch aimed at his cheek, but he also fell to the ground from losing his balance, the sharp pain in his buttocks forcing a grimace.
He looked up, and another punch was rapidly approaching.
“Father, what are you doing!”
The punch briefly paused amidst Fran’s shout, then heavily smashed into Fran’s right cheek.
Clutching his swollen cheek, Fran looked perplexed at the figure opposite: “Why are you here…
Father, and why are you hitting me?”
The man standing before Fran looked similar to an older version of Fran with a beard and several months without a bath.
Fran’s father looked disappointed without hiding it, yet his voice was Tristan’s.
[Son, have you forgotten the dreams of the Stan family?]
…
“I haven’t forgotten!”
Daniel, accustomed to silence and often perceived as such, shouted, his voice tinged with a quiver.
“But that demon…
it’s too powerful.”
[Is that why you back away?]
A female illusion hovered in front of him, the sharp voice echoing in his ear.
[Is that why you give up on revenge, letting the murderer continue harming others?]
“I’m not backing away…” Daniel lowered his head, murmuring, “Human abilities have limits, I’ve learned from my brief life.
The more one manipulates schemes, the more one realizes the limits of human capabilities…”
His body trembled continuously, not from fear but from an unnerving fervor that emerged from his deeply buried face.
“Unless one transcends humanity.”
…
[Such naive thoughts…]
An illusion identical to Owen floated in front of him, its voice sharp and mocking.
[Admit it, you’re just cowardly and useless, a waste.
Intelligence is useless before power!]
“So you’re a waste too.” Owen scoffed, disdainful of the other’s words.
“Many have told me these things, thanks to them, I can’t help but question myself no matter what I do.
“But it was just a doubt.
I won’t let others’ words change my life anymore!
Not even my own!”
…
“…”
Lu Li stood at the entrance of a quiet, black corridor.
For a long time, nothing had appeared here.
This situation lasted for several minutes until finally a voice sounded.
[Sorry, I just went over to Owen’s place.
Just walk through, the next challenge is the last one, you can wait for them to come out and then go in together.]
Tesla spoke casually.
Lu Li nodded and took steps through the black corridor, only a dozen meters long, to reach the other end.
Pushing open the black door and stepping out of the corridor, Lu Li glanced sideways; the remaining four wooden doors of various colors were tightly shut.
“How are they doing?”
Seconds later, a voice came through, this time from Rachel, her voice seemed distressed, “They’re all trying to overcome the challenges…
roughly.”
…
“Fine, I’ve decided to listen to your puzzle.”
Bang.
The neck of the dwarf puppet was planted on the ground, Doma radiated warmth and breathed slightly, saying.
[There are a total of 100 ducks and rabbits, the ducks have 80 more legs than the rabbits, how many ducks are there?]
“What is this?”
[A puzzle]
“Who posed the question?”
[I won’t let you kill Tesla, now please answer the question]
“One.”
[Wrong]
“Two.”
[Incorrect]
“Three.”
[…Are you going to guess one by one?]
…
“Can’t I?”
Frank wanted to stand with his hands on his hips and show off, but, fearing another punch from his father, he shrank back, “I became a lumberjack to save up money to buy a big boat.
Isn’t that the philosophy of our Frankenstein family?
I’ve always been implementing it!”
[How much money have you saved up.]
“One thousand seven hundred Shillings.”
[How much does a ship that can sail the sea cost]
“Hundreds of thousands maybe…”
Bang!
“Hiss…
Why hit me again…”
…
[You actually want to utilize their power!?]
A cold female voice spoke with astonishment.
Daniel’s mouth curled into a cold smirk, his face bearing a vengeful pleasure, “Isn’t this what you all wanted?
To lose oneself in hatred…”
[But this is madness]
“It’s not madness because I’ve found it to be feasible.
To use their power against them…”
…
[Do you really think so?]
Faced with the question, Owen inwardly sneered at the simplicity of the level.
Knowing it was a trial, he was determined to perform as perfectly as possible.
Though he did not know how his deepest secrets were known.
“I’m no longer the kid who’d rush into a fight over a few words.”
[…You’ve passed, you’ve overcome your inner weakness.]
Click.
The green door cracked open slightly.
Outside, under Lu Li’s watchful eye, a relaxed Owen walked out of the corridor.
