Chapter 715: Chapter 572: The Situation
A moment later, Su Mo and his companions arrived at the conference hall, which was arranged in a very novel way.
Greenery flourished all around the hall, with many brightly colored birds perched amidst it, occasionally emitting crisp chirps.
In the center of the conference hall were two rows of red wooden chairs.
These chairs were naturally grown, quite special, and emitted a very refreshing fragrance that invigorated the senses.
“Please have a seat!”
Beilo led Lord Spade to the foremost chair.
“Thank you.”
Spade seated himself with composure.
Su Mo and Rose stood directly behind Spade, neither of them showing any intention of sitting.
At this moment, one by one, officials of the Yanas Kingdom, dressed in splendid attire, walked in, each bearing a smile as they approached Spade.
They shook hands and exchanged greetings.
“Hello, Lord Spade, welcome to your visit. I am Yanas Kingdom’s senior executive Feller…”
….
Spade slowly stood up and exchanged pleasantries with each official with great patience.
Though tedious, the proper courtesies had to be extended.
Given the Alliance was in a crucial phase, personal behavior that could impact the bigger picture had to be avoided.
At that moment, Su Mo distinctly felt a sharp gaze upon him.
Glancing over, he saw a man standing behind Beilo, towering at three meters tall with a golden lion’s head, clad in heavy mechanical armor, staring intently at him.
The man exuded an imposing presence, and if Su Mo wasn’t mistaken, he was likely a top-tier expert.
Once Su Mo confirmed the source of the intense gaze, he chose not to respond.
Beilo then began to make conversation with Spade.
“Lord Spade, meeting you in the vast Star Sea signifies the fate shared by our nations.”
“Indeed! Lady Beilo speaks wisely. Has your country been faring well on this journey?”
Spade nodded in response.
“Overall, it has been smooth sailing, but the starry sky is fraught with dangers, and we’ve faced many troubles and risks. I believe you’ve experienced similar situations, Lord Spade?”
“That is inevitable, one can only overcome.”
“Lord Spade, when you’re abroad, friends are the most reliable. So if there’s anything, we need to take care of each other. Although our two nations haven’t officially signed with the Federation yet, it’s almost a done deal.”
“Naturally, we are also looking forward to the formal establishment of the Alliance.”
“You can rest assured on that front; there shouldn’t be any issues. As you know, those aggressive nations have already banded together, and if we don’t unite, it will certainly be our downfall.”
Beilo subtly reminded Spade of the underlying stakes.
With a more serious expression, Spade stated, “Although I have been sailing for a long time, I have heard about this matter. The six highly aggressive civilizations led by Galmotos have already united.”
“Correct, they are extremely ambitious. If we don’t consolidate our forces at this time, we’ll likely be targeted and wiped out one by one soon.”
As Beilo spoke, his expression turned exceedingly grave, indicating that the current situation was far from optimistic.
“Rest assured, as long as we stand united, they will not dare to act rashly,” Spade asserted.
“You’re right, Lord Spade. It’s just a pity that the civilization claiming to be the Immortals is too arrogant to ally with us; otherwise, we wouldn’t be in such a passive position.”
A great sense of regret shone in Beilo’s eyes as he mentioned the Immortals.
“That civilization is somewhat unique; their technology and strength are extremely advanced. I reckon that even without the calling of the Star Ring, they are on the verge of stepping into the Star Sea Era themselves. So, they do have some grounds for pride, but in this era, excessive arrogance is very foolish.”
Spade offered his own assessment, clearly concerned about the current situation. Out of the twelve civilizations that had come forth, they hadn’t even left the protective range of the Star Ring, colloquially speaking, they hadn’t stepped out of the novice village, and internal conflicts were already brewing.
Currently divided into three factions, the Federation led five relatively democratic and reasonable civilizations close to forming a defensive alliance, which included:
Federation Republic
Gaojia Republic
Yamak Free Country
Yanas Kingdom
Heck Free Country
Six civilizations, led by Galmotos, reached an alliance, specifically:
The Falais Clan
Galmotos Empire
Demun Empire
Greigorles Empire.
Feijil Empire
Turudir Empire.
The remaining faction was isolated, the civilization known as the Immortals.
“Unity is indeed strength since there are so many precedents; those monsters out there are the true nightmare,”
Beilo wholeheartedly agreed.
…
Standing behind Spade, Su Mo carefully listened to their conversation.
He was incredibly astonished, not having anticipated that this Interstellar Era would be so rapidly changing. They had not been out long, and the landscape had already altered so drastically; it seemed that if they didn’t make an effort, they could be cast aside by the era in the blink of an eye.
After a long time, Beilo and others finished their formal discussions with Spade.
Beilo stood up, extending an elegant invitation.
“Lord Spade, the time is nearly upon us. The banquet is ready. Shall we go enjoy our meal and continue our discussion there?”
“It would be an honor.”
