370: Chapter 370: Seeing Off 370: Chapter 370: Seeing Off Next to Imperial Capital Central Station, in a corner of a 24-hour tea diner.

Su Mo held his phone, editing a message over and over, viewing and deleting repeatedly before editing ceaselessly again.

After a long while, Su Mo looked at the message he had revised many times and finally made up his mind to press the send button.

Having done that, Su Mo sighed lightly, placing his phone on the table and waiting quietly.

He occasionally picked up his phone to see if there was a reply, and, finding none, placed it back on the table.

A few minutes later, a message popped up.

Su Mo’s heart trembled slightly, and he quickly picked up his phone to open the text.

“Sorry, I’m currently handling an urgent matter and might not be able to get away.

If I can make it, I’ll come, and I wish you a smooth journey,” the message read.

Seeing the reply, Su Mo felt a subtle loss but was also filled with a bit more anticipation.

Su Mo raised his hand to summon the waiter.

“Sir, how may I assist you?”

“Bring me a pot of coffee.”

Su Mo spoke in a calm tone.

“Certainly.”

In the tenth building of Dawn Group, after Qian Chengxue and Ye Tian finished talking, she walked straight out of the conference room.

Sun Li, who had been waiting outside, quickly followed her.

“Sister Xue, are you all right?”

“I’m fine, I’ve taken care of everything.”

Qian Chengxue’s expression was unusually calm.

For some reason, despite achieving what she wanted, she felt no joy but instead a poignant urge to cry.

Sun Li saw that Qian Chengxue’s eyes seemed very sad and chose not to say much.

Soon, Qian Chengxue entered her own office.

“Sun Li, please leave me for a while; I need to rest.”

“Okay.”

Sun Li sighed and left the office.

In the vast office, shortly only Qian Chengxue was left.

Qian Chengxue sat in her chair, her hand supporting her forehead, her expression full of desolation.

After a long time, her gaze landed on the phone, watching the search data displayed, her expression growing more complex.

After hesitating, she finally gathered the courage to compose and send a text message.

“Su Mo, are you free now?

Before I leave, could you meet me by Jingan Lake?

I have something to tell you.

Of course, it’s fine if you can’t make it, I’ll wait for you there.”

She then picked up the keys to her sports car from the drawer and left the office.

“Hello, Sister Xue.”

Along the way, employees greeted her respectfully.

Chengxue’s expression remained indifferent, she didn’t respond and headed straight for the elevator.

After Qian Chengxue left, her colleagues behind her quietly discussed in uneasy tones.

“What’s wrong with Sister Xue?

Why does she seem unhappy?”

“Don’t ask.

I heard Mr.

Ye came personally; maybe there was a conflict.”

“I see.”

In the underground parking garage, Qian Chengxue got into her sports car and pressed the accelerator down, the car speeding out.

It wasn’t long before the sports car entered a lane reserved for speeding.

She floored the accelerator, the speed on the dashboard wildly increasing.

A silver flash zoomed past.

In less than a moment, Qian Chengxue drove the sports car to the end of the speed-lane.

She slowed down and drove through the exit.

Soon, she arrived at a quiet lakeside.

She stopped the car, opened the door, and walked towards the lakeside; the scenery was very beautiful.

Gentle breezes swept by, blowing her flowing silver hair.

Qian Chengxue found a spot, sat down quietly, and occasionally checked her phone.

The phone remained as silent as ever.

Her clear eyes revealed a hint of melancholy and unease.

Time trickled by, and night gradually descended.

Qian Chengxue sat quietly by the lake, the night air growing increasingly chilly, her eyes becoming ever dimmer.

Her gaze intermittently fell on her phone resting beside her.

Still, there was no response.

…..

In the teahouse, Su Mo looked at the unending stream of figures outside the clear window, none of which was the one he was hoping for.

His heart grew increasingly complex and disheartened.

…..

As dawn broke by the lake, Qian Chengxue turned her head for one last look at her phone; still, without any vibration or sound, and the surroundings remained quiet and empty, devoid of any figure.

She sighed deeply, suppressed the subtle sadness in her heart, picked up her phone, and walked toward her sports car.

In the teahouse, a sweet-natured waitress kindly approached the preoccupied Su Mo.

“Sir, it’s getting bright, would you like something to eat?”

Su Mo snapped back to reality, checked the time on his phone—it was almost time to enter the station.

He glanced out the window once more and finally sighed.

“No, thank you, I must be going.”

Watching his somewhat despondent departure, the waitress murmured to herself with some envy.

“What kind of outstanding woman does it take to make such a wonderful man wait all night!”

…..

Su Mo left the teahouse and headed towards the station entrance.

As he reached the entrance, he saw a familiar figure standing there; he was momentarily startled.

“Lin Zinuo, why are you here?”

With her cheeks red from the cold, Lin Zinuo gave Su Mo a radiant smile.

“Su Mo haha, surprised, aren’t you, moved or not?”

“Moved, you must have come here early.”

Su Mo also cracked a slight smile.

“Indeed, I saw the message you left me as soon as I logged off, and I came here right away.

You’re really heartless, leaving without saying goodbye in person and just sending a message to shrug it off.”

As Lin Zinuo spoke, she got somewhat annoyed and wrinkled her little nose.

“Okay, okay, my fault.

But I thought, considering the strong brotherly bond we have, a message would suffice.”

Su Mo responded with a smile.

At Su Mo’s words, Lin Zinuo’s face turned dark in an instant, and she stomped hard on Su Mo’s foot.

Su Mo instantly sucked in a breath of cold air.

“Who told you to spout nonsense?

Who’s your brother here!”

“Isn’t it just treating you like a close brother?”

Su Mo also found himself struggling to explain.

“Humph, I don’t want to be any brother of yours.

Anyway, let’s not talk about this, I don’t want to upset you on your journey.

Did you bring enough money?”

Even though Lin Zinuo was annoyed, she knew Su Mo was about to enter the station, and she didn’t really want to argue with him.

“Don’t worry, I’m not a child anymore.”

Su Mo responded with a laugh.

“If only you were a child, at least children are easy to deceive; you’re like a block of wood.”

Lin Zinuo couldn’t help but mutter.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing, just stay safe on the road.

When will you be back?”

“I’ll see, I’ll come back when I have time.”

Su Mo responded with a smile.

“Forget it, expecting you to come back to see me is less likely than me visiting you.

Don’t change your number; when I’m done over here, I’ll come over to find you.”

Lin Zinuo’s mood lifted as she spoke.

Su Mo nodded and replied, “I won’t change my number.

If you have time and feel like visiting, just give me a call in advance.

Time is running out, I have to enter the station now.”

“Go ahead.”

Lin Zinuo waved goodbye to Su Mo, smiling broadly.
