DESTINED MATE : SWEET ALPHA PHEROMONE
Chapter 37 - GRUVV’s POV

Chapter 37: Chapter 37 - GRUVV’s POV

Two days ago, I came home and didn’t find Shiloh in his room. I frantically ran out of the house and went to the maids’ building, I banged on the door and asked if they knew where Shiloh was.

They were shocked because they were sure Shiloh hadn’t gone anywhere, I was so panicked that I couldn’t think straight. I called the front gate and the main gate, they said no one had left the house. Everyone scoured the mountain for almost two hours and when I was about to call George for more help a maid came up to me panting.

"Mr. Shiloh, he is....sleeping.....In Mr. Gruvv’s bedroom...."

When I ran up to the third floor, I saw him curled up on my bed. Peacefully asleep. My heart almost gave out, I wouldn’t have to be this panicked if I could smell his pheromones. I wouldn’t be like this if one of the workers here was neither BETA nor ALPHA who could help me find Shiloh just by smelling his pheromone.

"Shiloh..." I called him, he slowly opened his eyes. He looked confused. I helped him get up and sit on the bed, he turned his head right and left.

"Where I am?" He asked.

"This is my room.."

"Why am I in your room?" His question made me freeze for a moment, just like when he hurt himself, he didn’t remember what happened until he fell asleep in my room. My heart ached to see how fragile he is.

When a while ago I thought he was much better then he would always go back to zero, again and again. What else should I do for him?

"I was just, waiting for you.."

I could see him avoiding my eyes after saying that, I tightened my fists. Forcing a big smile so he wouldn’t know I was worried about him.

"Shiloh, I’m home." I said.

I wanted to take him out and didn’t want to keep him cooped up in the house like what the people around him always did but Shiloh still reacted badly with another Alpha pheromone.

"It’s done? Wanna go for a walk? Today the white roses you’ve been waiting for are finally blooming."

The next morning I took him to see the white roses that he had been waiting to bloom in the greenhouse. He looked happy to see them blooming so beautifully, his face flushed, probably because of the cooler weather. I walked over to Bre and asked him to adjust the room temperature.

"It’s already the warmest here, I can’t raise the temperature anymore." Bre said.

I sighed, Shiloh’s face was still flushed as I watched from afar.

All day at work I couldn’t concentrate, I left all the work to George. What happened to Shiloh two days ago is bothering me, he can’t remember anything and it hurts.

I don’t know if this is because of the trauma he has or other things. I contacted Andrew and will meet today.

I went first after lunch, we met at the hospital. Andrew had just finished surgery, yeah, he’s a cardiologist now. He’s been our family doctor for so long that my family gave him the opportunity to focus on his study and paid for it in full.

"I told you, in his current state there are times when Shiloh can’t remember anything. The brain can do anything to protect the body, just like you can’t smell pheromones because of trauma, it’s the same with Shiloh. The mistreatment he received over the years made the brain work hard to protect him." Andrew said as he took a sip of the hot coffee in his glass.

We were inside his office. I hadn’t answered him yet and a knock on the door made us turn our heads, Elina walked in with a big smile and waved her hand at us. Andrew called her too because I wanted to ask more about Shiloh’s condition.

"We did a background check and looked at his medical records, if you want, we can read them to you." Elina opened her notes in front of me who was still silent.

I shook my head slowly, "No, I don’t want to know about that. I just want to know how Shiloh is doing, how he’s progressing and what I should do."

Elina turned to Andrew who shrugged his shoulders, "I advised him to check his health records but he refused as you can see." He said as he put the coffee cup on the table.

"I think you should know about it, Mr. Dhurudatta."

I twiddled my fingers, afraid to know what happened to Shiloh in the past other than the Hanahaki he had. I still wasn’t ready and I just wanted to know everything from Shiloh.

Elina sighed, "Alright. I will only explain part of it. As you know, after Professor Livingston’s examination Mr. Shiloh..."

Elina began to read out what was in her notes. Starting from Shiloh’s body condition, since being found by us in the brothel there were a lot of needle wounds on his body, then Elina said that his broken ribs were now healed but made it difficult for him to breathe and it also affected other organs. What made it all that much worse was that he had Hanahaki.

"The flowers inside his lungs have stopped growing in recent weeks."

Andrew and I looked at Elina in surprise.

"What does that mean?" I asked, looking at both of them in turn.

"The flower stopped growing, but that didn’t stop him from coughing and vomiting petals. That’s why the broken ribs made it worse." Elina explained again.

"Wait, why did the flower stop growing? Is that a good thing?" I asked again, still curious about the reason why the flower suddenly stopped growing.

Elina glanced at Andrew, he then chuckled at me, "Hey, you like Shiloh, right?"

I was surprised to hear that so suddenly, I could feel my face heating up at the thought. "What does that have to do with it?" I said.

Elina smiled, "Mr. Dhurudatta, do you know how Hanahaki recovered?"

"With surgery." I answered briefly.

"Right, the surgery can get rid Hanahaki. But it also means that it can rid all feelings of love that he has, in other words he will never fall in love again for the rest of his life." Andrew explained that he poured water into an empty cup in front of Elina and asked her to drink it.

My eyes lit up, I didn’t know that at all.

"Shiloh refused the surgery, according to Elina possibly because he felt he had to accept the disease or because he didn’t want to lose the chance to fall in love again. Besides surgery there is one more thing that can make the flower stop growing, falling in love with a new person."

I froze in place, my brain trying to take in the info Andrew had just explained.

"That means.... ....?" I looked at the two who were smiling.

"That’s right, Shiloh is in love with someone new."

I’m sure my face is red now because of the feeling, there are heaters inside Andrew’s office but it will not making my face red. I picked up the cup of hot coffee and drank it, damn, I was getting more hot.

Elina cleared her throat at my awkwardness, "Mr. Shiloh’s condition is much better, but his head and mental state are still unstable. His body is still responding poorly to the other Alpha’s pheromones."

I put my cup on the table and looked at Elina, "Then, why he respond well to my pheromones?"

"Elina and I have already discussed this, we even did some tests. There are only two possibilities."

"Only two?" I asked Andrew who had now changed his sitting position, his face looking more serious than before.

"Yeah, it was because his body thinks that you were his ’savior’. Or because he is your destined mate."

I blinked at Andrew’s explanation. Huh? Destined Mate?

"You’re joking, right?" I said, staring in horror at Andrew.

He shrugged his shoulders, "That’s the odds we got."

"Why would you think that? I mean, the first reason makes a lot more sense than the second one?" I spoke quickly in panic, for some reason there was a strange feeling when I heard the possibility of us being Destined Mate.

"Only one percent in the world, Omega and Alpha become a destined mate. Even if they are far away, they will find each other. Their seeking instinct to find their mate is so strong especially since they can smell each other." Elina explained, she flipped her notes towards the front. "Mr. Shiloh can smell your pheromones differently than other Alphas and Omegas, that’s one sign that you two might be Destined Mate."

I couldn’t say anything, my head felt empty and I didn’t know what to say now after get that information.

"But, there is one more thing you should know Gruvv. Shiloh hasn’t gotten his HEAT since three years ago, we’re conducting tests even though the results aren’t out yet but we’ve come to the conclusion that he might not be an Omega Dominant anymore. He may now be a recessive Omega."

My body froze as I heard it, I felt like my ears were ringing and everything was a blur. What does that mean?

"Everything he experienced at the brothel, the forced intercourse, the sleeping pills, the beatings by customers, and also all the toys or anything inserted into his anus traumatized his body. His HEAT not coming on was probably a result of what happened two years earlier and also compounded by what happened at the brothel."

I could feel my blood boiling listening to all of Andrew’s explanations. My anger is now reached the peak, my desire to kill is so high. I had to find Gil and Madam Rose. I had to kill them.
