Shiloh’s hands grabbed me tightly, he was trembling, he begged me to let go my grip on Joshua. I immediately letting go and turned to him, I couldn’t think clearly, I was trying to control my own emotions but I failed. Seeing Joshua sitting next to Shiloh with a hatchet made me blank.

I checked him, there’s nothing wrong, he’s fine.

I turned to Joshua, so why is this son of a bitch come and telling me he’s here? For what?

"You’re too overprotective. Even though you know what you’re supposed to do to him.."

I frowned hearing Joshua say that, he was really testing my patience. He wanted me to do something for him first. I knew that he gonna blamed me if I throw the punch first.

He just left without doing anything, I asked Shiloh what Joshua did to him but he said Joshua just sat with him and talk. Of course, Shiloh didn’t tell me what that motherfucker told him.

I tried to calm Shiloh down, "You don’t smell his pheromones?" I asked, he nodded slowly.

"He hid it.." Said Shiloh.

Right, we Alpha dominants are supposed to be able to hide and control our own pheromones. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen to me. Me as an dysfunctional Alpha can’t even smell my own pheromones.

My chest tightened.

"Oh Gruvv, you should do something more to protect your omega. Like, hire some guard. Well, maybe next time you’ll only find his cold body when you get home."

Joshua’s words struck me.

True, I never thought that some enemies could come to this place even because these mountains are mine. Although, the entire road is closed and can only be accessed through the main gate.

I made sure Shiloh was okay, and in the middle of the night I tried to call George.

"Do you want more guards in your house?" I can hear George being a little surprised by my request. "Listen, it’s not a difficult thing, but are you sure you’re going to do it? I mean, the mountains are yours and everyone knows it. No one dare even getting close to your area."

I smoked a cigarette in my finger, not immediately answering what George was talking about, but as if knowing what I was going to talk about he spoke again, "Joshua didn’t do anything to that kid, did he? What are you afraid of?"

"Because he didn’t do anything that’s what I’m afraid, I don’t know what he and Cross are up to." I said, blow the smoke into the cold night breeze.

George said nothing for a moment.

"Alright, I will send mens from the east to guard your house. Is that enough?"

"Thank you very much." I said.

"For what? You’re the Boss."George said before turn off the phone.

I looked at the dark night sky. All the way here when I just got the call from Joshua, I regretted having a place so far from the city, I couldn’t even get up to speed no matter how fast I sped.

During the ride, my head was raging, I was afraid that something would happen to Shiloh and it would be too late. I don’t know why, but I want to protect him.

I might have to talk to my family about Shiloh, but again, I let him stay here and be by my side for my own personal reasons. Not that because I love him.

Right?

I was just worried about him, he had no one else, he was dumped by his own father and his father sell him after he graduate, he was locked up in a no window room, given sleeping pills for years and now he was the guarantor of his father’s debts that he never even knew about.

I felt my chest tight with the thought of how much Shiloh was suffering.

He suffered only for fulfilling the irresponsible whims of his father.

"If not me, then who?" I whispered.

After accompanying Shiloh on the morning walk I hurried off towards the city, today there is an arms auction that I have to attend. Besides me, Father and Joshua will be there. Before I talk to Dad, I’m gonna talk to Father about Shiloh first. I’m sure Father will be more understanding and have a much more relaxed reaction than Dad.

George waited at the main gate with two cars behind him. I could see some of men from the East coming out and bow to me.

"Is this enough?" Asked George, he smoked his cigarette.

I nodded, "You guys can keep watch around the house and never enter the house and Greenhouse. Understand?"

They nodded, I got in the car and George started the engine. He looked at me several times from the center mirror without speaking.

"I know what you want to say." I said, I’m still busy with the tablet in my hand. We’re really spend too much time together, even without saying anything I know what he gonna say.

"You’ll get into trouble."

I sighed, "I don’t care anymore for causing trouble. All I’m thinking about now is his safety."

George stared at the street but I knew he still had something to say. No, I’m not doing this because I like Shiloh. I just sympathize with him. He must have someone who can take care of him.

"But Gruvv... " George’s voice sounded serious, he turned the steering wheel to the right letting the car into the warehouse that would become the auction site. He parked the car smoothly. He turned to me, "you know that’s none of your business?"

His words were not wrong, but I was already upset because it sounded like a fact. So I got close to him and hit his head, he was screaming in pain. I sighed and got out of the car, the breeze was already really so cold. Before going home I will buy a scarf for Shiloh, even if he is only in the house, he will definitely need it.

George who was still holding the top of his head was trailing behind, some of my subordinates came bowing when I arrived. There were already so many people inside, in the right warehouse people who were going to take part in the auction already coming.

Some VIP who are their superiors will not attend events like this, they will only monitor through online while those who come are only the messengers.

"Gruvv!" Father came to me behind him there was Joshua with a shitty face following him, He hugged me. Father suddenly looked at me and frowned, I put on a confused expression not understanding why he was doing that. George from behind was just silent with a tense face.

"Oh! Dhurudatta Family!" A voice that we recognized suddenly greeted cheerfully. I turned around and found Mr. Kenrich getting out of the car, the old fart with the big belly and also the Santa Claus-like beard smiling broadly spreading his arms.

Father put on the friendliest face he ever gave to his guests even though we knew Mr. Kenrich was the one he hated the most.

"Mr. Kenrich! I didn’t know you were coming to the auction yourself!" Said Father while welcoming the old man’s hug.

"Oh sure! I heard the item that came this time is a good item, I want to see it for myself!" He said with a nasty look.

"Welcome Mr. Kenrich, I will give you the best seat possible." Joshua shook the old fart’s hand with a smile that he only showed under certain circumstances. Mr. Kenrich greeted the handshake with a fluffy smile.

"Joshua, you should have taken your brother’s position, why are you still in his belowed?" He asked, his eyes glancing at me with a smile that couldn’t escape his ugly face, "Gruvv, isn’t it time for you to go up to the headquarters? People have been talking about it for a long time, you shouldn’t be underground anymore."

I’m grinding my teeth, if it’s not the big day and he’s not one of the VIP clients I’m sure it will make his ugly face even uglier with my punch.

"I still have a lot of work here." I replied with a big smile, welcoming his handshake.

However, he looked at me in surprise. A tinge of disgusting smile was visible from his face, he turned to Father, "Looks like there will be a wedding party soon?"

I winced. Papa laughed, I could see his discomfort.

"Ah, no, not like that.." Father said with the awkwardly laugh.

"Oh! Don’t lie! We’re Alpha, even though we’re not dominant, we have a good sense. Gruvv, you have an Omega with a nice smell."

My eyes widened at that sentences, I turned towards George who was looking at me with a tense face. How? How did he know?

"Be careful Gruvv, this smell of yours Omega is very familiar." The old man laughed as he go away leaving us speechless.
