From the third floor I could hear he open the front door, one of his maid downstairs welcoming Gruvv’s in a low voice. Gruvv chatted briefly with the maid, I could vaguely hear his deep voice.

I walked into my room, opened the balcony door and let the cold fall breeze play with my long hair.

The conversation with Elina today made me feel uncomfortable, It felt like she was literally stripping me naked. The more I walked into this house and spent days with Gruvv, the less I wanted him to know what happened to me in my worst moments.

Even though I knew he was the one who saved me from Madam Rose, he had already seen how helpless I was to be there with people who throw their sexual desires on me. But again, I don’t want Gruvv to remember that.

"You sleep late these days." Gruvv stood at the door, still with half-wet hair every time he came home from work. I’ve a wild guess and imagination when I see that half-wet hair, does he come home after having sex with someone else? I don’t know why that thought came to me.

I looked at him, my hands tightly gripping the balcony railing. Gruvv walked over, he took off his coat and folded it on the sofa, he took the blanket that was on the bed and let it wrap around me.

"You will catch a cold if you go out at night in thin pajamas." He said, his big hands embrace me. Even though without this blanket and with only his gaze I could feel the warmth.

"You smell like a sweet Tangerine." I said, trying to cover up what I was feeling because I knew he was doing this because of what doctor Andrew asked. Everything he did to me was for his own good. This is not from what he wants.

He chuckled as he cupped my cold face, his hands feels warm.

"You’ve told me that many times." He said, his wide smile and those crescent moon-like eyes, am I the only one who can see them?

"You don’t smell like cigarettes anymore."

He looked at me and tilted his head slightly, "I quit smoking because you cough a lot, I’m afraid cigarettes can make your cough worse. Andrew said it can be dangerous to get the petals stuck in your throat when you cough and vomit."

I looked deep into his eyes, he wasn’t lying. Have I ever been stared at like this when I was with Mateo? Is it because Gruvv is so much older, that’s why every touch has a different sensation for me?

"Is that the reason you come home with half-wet hair every day?" I asked.

He was silent for a moment then I could see a red tinge in his ear. Ah, he’s shy.

"I’m afraid you don’t like my smell from work. You said I smelled like blood."

I blinked then laughed, he looked at me with his mouth pouted. He’s sulking because I’m laughing at it.

"Really?." I said. I take my eyes off to the night sky, the breeze that I had not felt for a long time now I could enjoy every day, the sunshine that I longed for now greeted me every morning. Food that I have never tasted so delicious now I can eat it every day.

All because of Gruvv.

His big hand held me, he looked at the city lights that were clearly visible from the balcony. I don’t know what he’s thinking. I want to ask him, if after a year he hasn’t progressed from this therapy will our contract just end like that? Is he going to give me to his family to be my father’s guarantor instead?

But my throat was dry, and my lips were numb.

"How was your meeting with Elina?" He asked.

I shrugged, his arms wrapped around the blanket comforting me.

"Well, I’ve made a lot of progress thanks to her."

"Really? What does she suggest for your therapy?"

I was silent for a while "She asked me to take a walk with you, meet with other alphas in order to get used to their pheromones again. Your pheromone helps cover other strong Alpha pheromones."

I could feel the hug getting tighter as I said it.

"I have free time tomorrow, do you want us to go to the city?" He turned to me when I turned to him, our eyes met.

"Are you sure? You’re also in therapy for your pheromone control. if we go into the city I’m afraid there’s chaos." I’m not sure about his idea.

We both have problems with pheromone, the therapy that Elina suggests does not mean that we have to go to the city. Since Gruvv has guards who are also Alphas, Elina only suggested that I walk among them with Gruvv beside me.

"When was the last time you left the House?"

Gruvv nodded, he rested his head on my head, his right hand embraced me. "I like it, I’ll take you to a nice, quiet restaurant in the city. Let’s go, tomorrow we will go around the city and then eat at a restaurant."

I nodded while my heart was beating fast, I hope he didn’t hear me. His touch, his voice, the crescent moon on his face, it all took my heart out of control.

"Your HEAT, which has not come for three years, I think we have to do some more tests. Doctor Andrew and I thought what happened to you in the hospital, the medicine your father gave you while you were locked up and then what happened in the brothel damaged all your internal organs. We assume, you may now become a Recessive Omega. Mr. Shiloh, if that happens, you will no longer have a child. You can’t have a child, the chances of getting pregnant for a Recessive Omega are under one percent."

Elina’s words echoed in my head. If I did turn out to be a Recessive Omega that explains why Gruvv never talked about the smell of my pheromone, this guy never smelled my pheromone because now I’m a Recessive Omega.

That is, I have nothing more to be proud of myself.
