Chapter 577: A Shade from the Past
Chapter 577: A Shade from the Past
Bang!
Asmodeus punched through the last black figure, his force creating a shockwave that vaporised the remaining bodies into dust.
“Phew.”
“Wow, darling, you’re so sexy when you fight.” Yumiko’s body wrapped around his as she kissed his cheek, “You didn’t even sweat!?” His handsome face remained spotless as he looked at the pretty fox with a confident smile.
“Husband, please use that level of power next time we have sex.” Velvet’s husky voice echoed in the dungeon as she turned away with a slight blush on her cheeks.
“Do you think of nothing but sex!?”
Leviathan scolded Velvet, but Asmodeus wanted to mention a certain paladin who asked him to lick her until she squirted each night before sleep…
“Is this the dungeon over?” Asmodeus wondered, flexing his fingers and muscles, trying to loosen himself up after fighting for almost an hour nonstop. He never expected the shadow figures to keep reproducing until they reached over a hundred.
However, as if to mock his question, a light appeared, with a small doorway leading deeper into the dungeon.
“This feels nostalgic…” Yumiko mumbled.
“Like that time when we fought the lich?”
“Yeah…”
“After that, Levia tried to rape me.”
“W-What!?” Levia, with red cheeks, exclaimed, but everyone knew it was true, so they just shrugged their shoulders. “I-I… I didn’t mean to do that…!”
Asmodeus chuckled and looked at the shy demon paladin, “Heh… really? I wouldn’t have minded if you approached me naturally back then. I had a crush on you.”
“Ack?!” She reacted with an amusic movement, but then seemed to regain calm. “Eh… you would have accepted me?”
Yumiko frowned and leaned closer to Asmodeus, gripping his hand.
“Hush, you’ve already taken his dick in every hold you’ve got, why are you acting embarassed now?” The words were so frank that they cut straight through the strange atmosphere, and even Velvet began to chuckle to herself.
This is part of the reason I love this woman.
“Well…”
“Shall we just clear the dungeon already?” Yumiko pouted and grabbed Leonhardt’s hand, pulling him into the portal. On the way to the flowing purple bubble, she leaned close to his ear. “I want you tonight.” Her eyes filled with desire and energy as she glared at him with a flirtatious smirk.
It’s a good thing I have a powerful sex drive.
Asmodeus smiled at her cute request and kissed her cheek, his hand gripping her waist as they jumped into the portal together.
Woosh!
The moment they passed through, the voices of Levia and Velvet, who called out from behind them, distorted into twisted and elongated words as if they were speaking in slow motion. A cooling sensation enveloped them, followed by a warmth that wrapped around them like an embrace, until finally they found themselves on a large island.
Asmodeus looked down, seeing Yumiko’s shocked expression, he realised they must have landed somewhere strange.
At the centre of the island was a tomb… a single grave with an unburied coffin.
“Where are we?” Yumiko asked.
“I don’t know, but the dungeon probably… this might be a boss fight.”
“That style of coffin, doesn’t it look familiar?”
He followed her gaze and couldn’t help but nod.
It wasn’t some random dungeon, but everything related to their past. The first related to the day he destroyed the death cult’s plot in Baltimore… now a strange coffin that was identical to the ones they used in the north, those found in the demon queen’s mausoleum before they destroyed it.
“…I can’t sense Velvet or Levia…”
“They’re not here. Do you think it could be a multi-floor dungeon? If so, they’ve probably ended up in another one.”
“Let’s check out the casket.”
Asmodeus stepped forward, and the ground became colder with each step. He noticed that the sunlight was fading, and a cold, icy weather was starting to replace it, with snowflakes dropping faster and faster as they approached the coffin.
Shing!
A blade of black steel slashed the air between Asmodeus and the coffin. Asmodeus’s body flashed backwards, and Yumiko vanished from his side.
The snowfall intensified as the environment transitioned from a dark ocean to a snowy mountain.
“Where are you!?”
Yumiko landed behind Asmodeus, while he watched the coffin and gravesite with wide eyes.
“What does this mean…?”
On the floor, the bodies of various women lay, but all of them familiar from their armour or weapons, it was just their bodies and faces that didn’t look human—made of pure darkness, just like the previous black figures.
“Asmodeus?”
“Levia… Velvet…Yuina? Asmodea…. Sariel?”
All the women he loved lay fallen around the casket, but he couldn’t see Yumiko, which strangely made him feel at ease, as he approached the lid of the coffin and reached out.
“Darling… be careful…” Her voice called out from far behind him. Yumiko’s body felt too far for comfort. He lifted his hands, and a surge of energy shot through his body, causing his heart to beat faster.
Inside, he found a beautiful woman… with pale skin and fox tails, but a massive wound in her chest.
“Y…Yumiko?”
The moment he called out, he turned back to find her figure, hear her voice…
But she was gone.
He was standing alone.
Meanwhile, behind him, the bodies of all the fallen women suddenly twisted, their faces returned to normal, pale and like corpses, all with dull eyes without emotions.
“W…why?” A hoarse, grainy voice came from Asmodea’s mouth.

Meanwhile, in another realm, Velvet stood on a familiar mountain… the place she fought the drake and bathed in the elemental pool and made love to Asmodeus for the first time.
“Asmodeus?”
She called out to the strange figure staggering in front of her.
He appeared to be her beloved, but his face looked pale and lifeless, and he was much less muscular and shorter.
It wasn’t her husband, or the father of the child in her stomach.
“…”
“Asmodeus!” She called out to him again, only for him to raise his hand and create a red blood spear, which flew toward her.
“Is this an illusion?”
But as she dodged the attack, it shattered the ground and sent a shower of earth and rocks down.
However, behind him, a giant dragon made of bones and loose flesh rose from the ground with a thunderous roar.
The Dragon of the Mountain.
“…This is… what happened?”
She didn’t know why the dead dragon was there, nor why Asmodeus seemed different.
In the distance, she heard screams of villagers.
But nothing mattered to her; she wanted to scream in this moment, for Velvet was a pivotal moment when she became a demon, when she learned the truth behind the feelings inside her.
“Do not destroy this memory!”
Her body crackled with purple lightning, her black horn extending with a low vibration, as the red sigils and runes shone.
“Do not step on my love for that man!”
She stepped forward as the rocks around her lifted into the air, her muscles bulging as she lowered her hips and gathered power.
“Do not take HIS form!”
Velvet’s body exploded forward, both fists glowing with lightning and full of her power.

Levia found herself in an inn, a place that was somewhat nostalgic and familiar. She touched her face and body, realising she was no longer a demon.
The human Levia… back when she didn’t have this name.
“No… it cannot be!?”
She looked down, touching her skin before looking at her hands, finding them smooth and without a trace of the exoskeleton.
“Are you okay?” A soft voice came from beside her.
It was a girl she knew well, one who always followed her and a friend… Ciela.
Yet the soft voice didn’t match the dull eyes and aggressive expression on the elf’s face.
“Alicia, what’s going on?”
“What do you mean? After betraying us and shamelessly forcing yourself on Ryuji, before killing him?!” The elf girl hissed.
“What!? You’re lying, this is all wrong! It wasn’t like that at all!”
The door burst open, revealing another figure she recognised.
“… why did you do this?”
Simon and Paul… they looked younger and less worn out. “How could you do that? You killed him…”
“Sheila, we cannot protect you for this… Prince Alan and Princess Liana are furious… Yumiko is already in chains, having lost herself to despair. Didn’t you know she’s carrying Ryuji’s child?”
What’s happening?
“Tsk, to think you’re also pregnant after raping him.”
The shock of becoming human was too big for Levia to notice their dead eyes.

Finally, in a quiet classroom, Yumiko sat, marking handouts and quiz papers. She looked out at the familiar afternoon view, with the setting sun. Her face looked mature, with a foxy beauty that a normal human couldn’t match.
The fluffy ears and tail of a fox remained, but she wore a standard dress suit.
“It’s been two years… when will I see you again?”
She held out her hand, gritting her teeth, yet no matter how much she tried, it only looked like she was constipated; no magic or aura appeared from her palm.
The most frustrating thing…
In her class, she faced members she knew to be dead.
Kenta Suzuki, Yuki Ito and Haruki Tanaka… but there was no Erika Tendo or Ryuji Vincenzo… even Fuuka Suzuhara vanished, replaced by a stranger.
“Tsukihana… mommy is sorry… she’ll come find you soon!”
