Chapter 516: Chapter 516: The Moon Descends
"Mommie dearest! He Meng, I’m going to tap into your potential once more."
Yang Yu acted mysteriously, his fingers swiftly moving across He Meng’s panel, completing her stat allocation.
He Meng
Race: Slime (Royal Family) Level: LV64 HP: 2124/2124 MP: 1017/1017
Attributes: Strength 395, Defense 1335, Intelligence 315, Special Defense 1289, Agility 328, Endurance 192
Resistance: Physical 50%
Status: Blood Contract (Cannot be removed unless one party dies.)
Yang Yu let go of He Meng, satisfied, and He Meng immediately felt her body become much lighter and stronger.
She had no idea how Yang Yu did it, but He Meng now desperately wanted to jump up and give Yang Yu such a kick to his stomach that it would leave him in agony.
After all, she was the Princess of the Slimes, revered by tens of thousands in the Slime Kingdom; no one in her race had dared to treat her like this.
Little did she know, not only would she be touched all over by a human, but she was also fed things she didn’t want to eat.
He Meng expressed her displeasure with angry symbols made of bubbles above her head, vowing not to let him get away with it just because he was a walking cafeteria!
The next moment, He Meng found herself buried under a bag of clovers.
Sorry, but a walking cafeteria can do as it pleases.
And if that’s not enough, I can give a whole truckload because I have plenty of mana.
Next, Yang Yu turned his attention to Lotcar’s interface. Lotcar didn’t have many free attribute points, but just to be safe, Yang Yu allocated all of them into Strength and Speed.
It’s a pity that Lotcar was in the form of a giant wolf, and Yang Yu couldn’t equip him with anything, but he didn’t need to join him in dealing with the Curse Sect either.
He had more important things to do and could take Hake to a safe place along the way.
Finally, Yang Yu pulled out two items from the System: the Enlightenment Orb he got from completing the "Magic Hall" strategy task, and the Courage Stone he got from the "Hall of Courage" task.
The "Enlightenment Orb" randomly increases an ally’s Intelligence by 0 to 100 points. Yang Yu had used it before and only got 4 points, which was pretty disappointing.
The "Courage Stone" was a similar tool, randomly giving Resistance to Slowness from 0% to 100%.
After some thought, Yang Yu decided not to use these two tools.
If he found a tool in the future that could increase luck, then the attributes he drew could jump from single to double digits.
Especially that Resistance to Slowness, which fitted perfectly with him, the meaty assassin... uh, the Defensive Battle with a tiny bit of added Speed.
All prepared, Yang Yu mounted Lotcar.
He wasn’t prepared when facing the Curse Sect the first time and got rubbed into the ground. But now...
Now, it was time to rake in a boatload of experience!
...
...
Dusk gradually fell.
Like a scene from The Nutcracker, Tu Jing led the followers of the Curse Sect in evening prayers to the Demon they worshipped.
"The wicked goddess rules the world, spreading injustice and dividing people into classes.
We are all the pitiable ones, abandoned by her, bearing the unjust fate she lays upon us.
We should rise up against the goddess, reclaim what is rightfully ours, and avoid unnecessary suffering.
Only the Demon Lord will listen to our desires and fulfill our long-held wishes."
"As long as we are willing to make sacrifices, the Demon Lord will surely fulfill our longstanding wish and guide us to eternal bliss.
Even if we stand at the gates of Hell, we will never abandon our faith.
Our sacrifices will eventually be rewarded and not be trampled underfoot by the foolish goddess.
Just as dusk gives way to the Dark Night, the goddess will eventually be devoured by demons, and we will welcome a brand-new dawn."
The lengthy and icy prayer echoed through the forest, while the birds and other creatures within it were not startled by the sound. Instead, they went about their business with utmost tranquility.
The only thing capable of alarming these forest dwellers was the omnipresent black shadows that infiltrated the forest.
These shadows would occasionally mimic applause in response to Tu Jing’s strange antics as if children delighted by an intriguing scene.
Suddenly, a shadow tiptoed forward and materialized before Tu Jing, transforming into a mirror.
In the mirror, Yang Yu and his companions had gathered and were advancing towards the village of Lotcar.
But Tu Jing and his followers did not stop their prayers to pursue them; instead, they continued to pray in hushed voices until the end.
Tu Jing let out a "giggle" of laughter and spread his arms wide, "All — before us — the moment we’ve awaited is almost upon us!
By now, we should have seen the Demon Lord descend upon this world, but alas, a traitor emerged among us, dashing our hopes, and even those of the Demon Lord, stealing the necessary tools to awaken Him!
As punishment for betraying the Demon Lord, He has taken the traitor’s life with unimaginable agony.
Behold! Even if one were to convert back to the goddess once more.
The traitor could not find redemption and was abandoned by the goddess who had discarded him once already!
And this misfortune continues to spread to his offspring.
Finally, the time has come to take back everything!
Demon Lord! Demon Lord!
How I long to see you, giggle! And soon I shall!"
A bizarre laughter resounded through the forest, and the Believers began to cheer,
"All for the Demon Lord! All for fulfilling our longstanding wishes! All to aid the Demon Lord in overthrowing this world!"
As the sunset faded, and before the silvery moonlight could illuminate the forest, the Believers put on the black shadows one by one and rushed towards the direction Tu Jing had pointed.
Lotcar moved swiftly through the forest towards the Silver Teeth Clan village, his keen hearing catching the sounds around him.
Iyas too focused intently, trying to sense the Darkness moving through the forest.
The first to greet Yang Yu and the others was a black Spiritual Body.
It resembled a pitch-black tiger, its size not inferior to Lotcar’s.
The moon’s silvery light fell upon it without a single reflection, all of it absorbed by the deep abyss of the black Spiritual Body.
It swung its claws fiercely, launching itself towards Lotcar.
Iyas pulled back her Longbow, unleashing a Combination Attack with "Light Arrow" and "Guaranteed Hit Arrow." The black tiger raised its arm, allowing Iyas’s arrows to pass through its claw, disregarding the injured limb, it charged directly at Lotcar.
"Hold tight," she whispered.
Lotcar raised his arms and stood up on his hind legs, crossing his front paws and emitting a silver glow with his Sharp claws, executing the "Silver Light Claw Strike."
With an outward swipe, three claw-like rays of light merged into a giant X-shaped Attack, ripping through the ground and kicking up dust.
But this powerful strike was shattered by the black tiger with a single blow. Lotcar could only retaliate with a claw for claw Attack, and instantly, the black claw collided with the silvery Sharp claw, sparking a fire.
This time, Lotcar was at a slight disadvantage, sent reeling back several meters, his claws scraping the ground as he halted his stance, warily watching the black tiger.
The black tiger gradually melted, turning into a pool of black liquid, and a man stood upon the black water’s surface, lifting his head to glare furiously at Yang Yu.
