Chapter 411: Who is the Impostor?

Chapter 411: Chapter 411: Who is the Impostor?

Outside the pavilion, Sena cradled He Meng in her arms, one hand gently caressing the creature’s pale blue body.

In just a few short hours, Sena and He Meng had become incredibly harmonious.

Sena’s technique was extremely skilled, making He Meng utterly indulge in the gentle caress, thoroughly enjoying the tenderness.

But this enjoyment inevitably had an end.

With the man’s arrival, the peaceful times He Meng had been enjoying would soon come to an end.

Noticing the door being opened, Sena looked towards Yang Yu, who was stepping out of the pavilion,

"Is everything settled with Captain Gordon?"

With an easy smile, Yang Yu responded, "Much easier than I had anticipated."

As soon as a new toy was taken from the System, Gordon’s gaze immediately shifted from the Holy Spear to Yang Yu.

Taking the opportunity, Yang Yu displayed the peerless techniques he had learned from television as a youth, reveling in his role as the fire-powered Teen King and thoroughly showcasing the charm of yo-yos.

Beyond that, Yang Yu also pulled out many other trinkets like Diabolo and RC cars to effectively tempt Gordon.

Seeing Yang Yu with so many interesting little gadgets, Gordon accepted Yang Yu’s request without much hesitation.

Afterwards, the group discussed the plan to rescue Hake in the room.

Before coming, Yang Yu had already prepared a plan, but after talking with Captain Gordon and Wanjing Zhuhua, Yang Yu found out that the Red Blood Rose had not only acquired plenty of great Equipment but also obtained numerous Potions on the eleventh floor of the Goblin Maze. A new and safer strategy immediately came to mind.

However, to execute this strategy, they needed to prepare, which might take a bit of time.

Following closely behind Yang Yu, Luo leaped down the stairs with a letter in her mouth, moving with agile grace.

Yang Yu said with a smile, "Miss Luo, I’ll have to trouble you to deliver this letter next."

Looking back at Yang Yu, Luo’s mouth did not move, yet her voice came through, "It’s really surprising that you managed to persuade Gordon; that guy has always been interested only in things that appeal to him.

I don’t know where you got those little gizmos, but it seems Captain Gordon won’t be idle for a while.

Don’t do anything strange to Sena while I’m gone."

"I’ve just got a few questions to ask her; I wouldn’t do anything strange. Please take care with the delivery, come back soon."

Yang Yu waved goodbye to Luo, who turned away and deftly leaped onto a fence, vanishing from sight down the street.

"What questions do you wish to ask? Have you finally decided to become a skilled Monster Tamer? Luckily, everything I’ve learned from books is rather useful, I can teach you!"

With a show-off touch on He Meng, Sena took a step closer to Yang Yu, her face brimming with proud satisfaction,

"Some details might be a bit tricky to grasp, but don’t worry, with me here, I believe you’ll quickly get the hang of it and exist in harmony with your creature."

"I’ve said it before, I don’t plan on taking up the role of Monster Tamer for the time being, and besides, I feel that I’m already perfectly in tune with it, I don’t need any special tricks for bonding."

Just as He Meng had anticipated, Yang Yu’s appearance did indeed ruin her good mood.

She almost wished she could leap up and punch Yang Yu, telling him that their relationship was not that good, not to get too familiar with her.

Sena also helplessly narrowed her eyes, realizing that there was still a long way to go for Yang Yu and He Meng to truly understand each other.

"The results are just as I demonstrated. If you change your mind in the future and want to become an excellent Monster Tamer, I’m always here to welcome you.

But now that you’re here, what is it you want to ask?"

Yang Yu pointed to his own eyes and asked, "You once said that your Star Eye can see the flow of magic power inside a person’s body. Is this ability really innate?"

Sena’s stroking hand abruptly stopped. After pondering for a moment, she replied assertively:

"My father, my mother, and other members of my family all have eyes like these.

When I was a child, I saw my newborn sister for the first time; when she opened her eyes, it was as if they mirrored the entire starry sky. Then those stars slowly gathered into eyes like mine.

We have always believed that this is a blessing bestowed by the goddess."

"I see."

It was quite similar to that task. Yang Yu continued to probe,

"So the goddess gifted you these eyes for what purpose? Has she ever told you to guard something?"

Sena shook her head, "In the years living with my family, I have never heard of anything that needed guarding. Everyone was just living their own lives. Even if someone in the family did something bad, the Star Eye wouldn’t disappear."

"To say it is a special gift from the goddess to you alone, there is actually no evidence of such. If you haven’t done anything and yet received such power, wouldn’t the goddess be too partial?"

"Who knows? Perhaps my ancestors did something to touch the goddess, which is why we were granted these eyes.

I am not interested in these matters. Perhaps there are records in my family’s library about what they did for the goddess.

Unfortunately, I am not interested in those books and have never read them seriously."

Such an answer was truly ambiguous and couldn’t be taken as a reference.

The existence of the Star Eye was special in itself; it surely contained a storyline worth exploring.

To say the goddess granted them these eyes, what the actual story is remains uncertain.

After all, if they were truly chosen by the goddess, they should possess the special designation "Blessed by the Goddess," but Sena’s panel was empty, not even displaying the special marker of the Star Eye.

Perhaps the Star Eye had become a unique trait of Sena’s family.

"The Star Eye can see the differences and directions of magic power. What about when looking at someone who can use Holy Light?"

Slowly putting down He Meng, Sena replied:

"According to what my eyes have seen, Holy Light and magic seem to be two completely different systems of power.

The two are very similar, yet they conflict with each other within the human body.

Because of this conflict, the level of Holy Light in people who possess both Holy Light and magic is not very high.

If one specializes in one aspect, magic or Holy Light, one will overwhelm the other.

This isn’t my random speculation; it’s what I’ve witnessed in real life.

Miss Iyas beside you has strong Holy Light, and it contains a certain amount of magic power as well. Being able to coexist harmoniously like that is just not human."

"Oh, that person is actually an elf," said Yang Yu without any concern.

"So it’s an elf; then it’s nothing."

Sena wasn’t overly surprised. She had heard from Luo occasionally that Iyas looked like a human but smelled like an elf, and Luo had long suspected that Iyas was an elf.

"Although I haven’t seen many elves, they truly are a race favored by the goddess. Every elf I’ve seen carries a strong blessing of Holy Light.

Completely different from our ’counterfeit goods.’"
