Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!
Chapter 386: 3 Days, do you know how I spent these 3 days?

Chapter 386: Chapter 386: 3 Days, do you know how I spent these 3 days?

"Clang," Iyas heard the sound of a cage being opened.

Starting with that sound, a series of bangs and clatters followed one after another—all sounds of cages being opened.

This place was clearly for holding slaves, so why were there sounds of cages opening?

There was only one answer.

This was a trap.

One by one, fully armed individuals lifted the black cloth over the cages and took their positions in the walkway between the cells, with over thirty pairs of eyes converging on the bewildered Iyas.

These people were all Underground Bounty Hunters, active in the shadows. The only thing that would make them go to such lengths to wait here was a single purpose.

In a panic, Iyas drew her bow and set an arrow to the string, but for a moment she was at a loss as to whom she should aim the arrowhead at.

"At last, you’ve kept us waiting for so long!"

A Shield Axe Man stepped to the very front of the line, his face covered in stubble and filled with discontent and malice,

"You guys were really slow. We’ve been cooped up in these cages for three days.

Three days—do you know what these days have been like for me?

Had we not been patient, we would have probably run off like the other Underground Bounty Hunters by now."

Gathering intelligence, Hei Yao had deduced from Yang Yu’s actions thus far that they would need only two days to reach Xidelaistra, yet it took Iyas a full five days to arrive at Xidelaistra.

It wasn’t that Iyas wanted to dawdle; she, too, wished to reach Xidelaistra as quickly as possible.

But without Lotcar’s speed boost and without a clear direction from Yang Yu, Iyas stumbled around for a long while, making frequent stops along the way and encountering several mishaps, until with the help of some kind strangers, she was able to reach Xidelaistra by boat.

This was tough on the Underground Bounty Hunters waiting for Iyas to fall into their hands, as they truly spent three days in this confined space, like slaves, in order to capture Yang Yu and his party.

What was even more infuriating was that they had suffered so much, yet the auction house people wouldn’t even let them eat properly, telling them to bring their own dry food and water.

Is this the way people should treat each other?

Some Bounty Hunters couldn’t endure the "N-day Slave Cage Tour" by the second day and gave up on the Task.

However, even more Bounty Hunters chose to stay, as they had not encountered such a lucrative job in a long while.

If they could capture Yang Yu and his companions, they would be able to live comfortably and carefree for some time.

But the leader of the Underground Bounty Hunters, looking left and right, couldn’t find Yang Yu and Bai Jin; he only saw Iyas, standing alone, drawing her bow.

"The two who were with you, did they split up to act separately?

Not moving together, that’s problematic—the big fish are over there.

Never mind, we’ll capture you first; you’re worth two million. The ones worth ten million will naturally come to us!

Hey, lady, if you don’t want to suffer, just surrender peacefully."

As soon as his words ended, Iyas released the string, unleashing a combined assault of "Hunter Mark" and "Gale Point Break." A hurricane whipped up along the arrow, shooting straight towards the Shield Axe Man’s chest. The Shield Axe Man pulled out his shield axe from behind, and Illusion Shield unfolded in front of him, perfectly blocking Iyas’s Attack.

"It’s the same Skill as that guy’s."

Seeing her Attack ineffective, Iyas immediately started running. She struggled to face ten people, let alone thirty all at once.

Iyas leapt onto a cage, hoping to escape immediately, but she saw that several Underground Bounty Hunters had already sealed the entrance with ropes and wooden sticks prepared in advance.

"You sure are hot-tempered, but since that’s the case, don’t blame me if I leave a scar on that cute face of yours!"

As soon as these words fell, a man beside the Shield Axe Man reminded, "The client instructed us it’s best not to damage her pretty little face. She’s a kidnapped Slave, merchandise; a ruined face won’t fetch a good price."

"Enough, enough, I know! Don’t remind me, just deal with it quickly, and go find those two people; we can’t let anyone beat us to it!"

With a loud roar from the Shield Axe Man, the bounty hunters swarmed towards Iyas.

These Underground Bounty Hunters weren’t from a single group but were rather composed of several loose groups that had temporarily reached a consensus and cooperate upon hearing that the Silver Orchid Commerce’s bounty might appear in Xidelaistra.

According to the agreement made beforehand, whoever subdued the target first would get the lion’s share.

Therefore, every person on the scene was rushing to be the first.

Iyas ran and leaped atop the cage, shooting down at the attacking Bounty Hunters with her Bows and arrows.

But these Underground Bounty Hunters weren’t pushovers; each of them was battle-hardened and possessed one or two Skills capable of blocking ranged attacks, rendering her barrage ineffective.

Iyas was forced to change tactics, aiming her arrows at a single person. After several rounds of shooting, she barely managed to kill one of the Underground Bounty Hunters.

During this gap, the other Bounty Hunters were drawing closer, with one even nearly grabbing Iyas by the heel.

Fortunate for her quick reaction, Iyas barely dodged another mishap.

However, Iyas had no time to catch her breath, as several people also climbed atop cages, completely surrounding her, drastically reducing her maneuvering space.

The trouble with using Bows and arrows lay in the need to load arrows each time you attacked, and no matter how fast Iyas loaded, she couldn’t cope with the numbers.

Of course, Iyas could shoot multiple arrows at once, targeting several individuals simultaneously.

Iyas’s current limit was releasing three arrows at once, and with the use of the "Split Arrow" Skill, in theory, she could hit up to six targets with one shot.

However, using three arrows at once would result in reduced accuracy and power.

In her current situation, Iyas couldn’t worry about that and placed three arrows on the bowstring, releasing them in unison.

The three arrows split into six mid-air, flying toward the six people who had just used their Block Skill.

Three out of the six were hit.

As two people let out involuntary cries of pain from being pierced by the arrows and fell from the cage, Iyas, holding her bow with one hand, leaped down from the cage, stepping over the two moaning bodies, and headed straight for the door.

She tried to remove the wooden bars and chains sealing the door, but even after removing them, Iyas still couldn’t open it.

"This is a futile effort. That door was locked from the outside as soon as you entered. Unless I use a tool to command it, it remains unopenable.

Your every move has been watched by others.

You didn’t expect that, did you? We pretended to seal the door to lure you here!"

A crowd surrounded Iyas from all sides, and the Shield Axe Man’s face revealed a smug expression,

"Now, you have absolutely no way out. Just give up and surrender. Tell me the whereabouts of those two.

As long as you tell me where those two are, I promise not to hurt you."
