Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!
Chapter 175 Unstoppable

Chapter 175: Chapter 175 Unstoppable

All the spectators were struck dumb with amazement as Yang Yu surprised them once again.

Under the broad daylight and in the clear skies, he actually openly taunted all the examiners present.

Could he still be holding a grudge over the last martial arts exam?

Having defeated the toughest examiner, yet as a Monster Tamer, he was forced to face an opponent he could not overcome. Anyone would find it hard to come to terms with that.

But that wasn’t something to vent about in such a setting. If one needed to vent, it would be better to find a secluded place, like the small woods next door.

The eyes of the audience gradually filled with sympathy.

They did not know what secret weapon Yang Yu had, but they knew that those who could become examiners at the All Things Library were no ordinary individuals and that being overly arrogant could lead to a harsh lesson from them.

Scrutinizing Yang Yu, Tiya Luo did not see any hint of mockery on his face.

This young man before him was serious.

The All Things Library had strict requirements for Monster Tamers due to a deep historical reason. Rejecting Monster Tamers entirely was a policy adopted out of necessity.

It was undeniable that this approach saved a lot of manpower and resources in preventing history from repeating itself; it was also undeniable that this approach led to many talented Monster Tamers being turned away from the Library.

The Library Elders’ Council was very clear about their stance.

"Our priority is to ensure the safety of the Library’s books. All policies revolve around this. Monster Tamers’ demons become volatile within the bounds of the Library; they must be more exceptional than most, proving they can manage their demons. Therefore, previous restrictions placed on Monster Tamers must not change."

When Tiya Luo first saw Yang Yu and his team, he somewhat dismissed them, thinking they were just a squad centered around a Monster Tamer.

Seeing Yang Yu defeat Dian Wen without relying on the strength of his monsters, Tiya Luo was very pleased and was sure that Yang Yu must have something up his sleeve.

However, he never imagined that Yang Yu had no idea that Monster Tamers needed to put in an extra effort to qualify for the Library.

Before, the confident young man in front of him had fully showcased his team’s strength, not expecting his identity as a Monster Tamer to be treated differently by the Library...

Although it was exasperating to hear those words, they were not entirely incomprehensible.

With a stern face, Tiya Luo spoke from the standpoint of a proctor for the Library,

"Since you are so confident, we shall not hold back. After all, being spoken to in this manner, there are few who could restrain themselves. Young man, it is best to learn a bit of modesty; being unduly conceited can lead to a severe outcome."

With a sneer, Yang Yu raised his head, his face full of taunting, "Today, I am in excellent form. How will you know I am being conceited without trying me out? I’ll say it straight—today, I will become a member of this Library."

"Very well!"

Tiya Luo beckoned to the star-level mages on the examiners’ bench who were eager to try, and eight mages took to the air, landing in front of Yang Yu,

"Let’s see if you’re just a loudmouth!"

Finally facing Yang Yu in person, Dian Wen felt an indescribable joy, but when he saw that the man before him was smiling with not the slightest fear in his eyes, a sense of reluctance arose within him.

Instinct told Dian Wen that Yang Yu must be plotting something.

Activating his flying magic, Tiya Luo joined the ranks, and he slowly raised his right hand above his head, emitting a resonant voice,

"Candidates and examiners have entered the arena! Take your positions!"

The barrier slowly rose, resembling an inverted large bowl set upon the dueling platform. A faint white glow appeared on both Yang Yu and all the examiners as they were each equipped with a shield to determine the outcome of victory or defeat.

Every spectator in the audience held their breath, quietly awaiting the start of the assessment.

After a second or two, Tiya Luo swung his hand down heavily, and his loud voice once again spread throughout the hall,

"Begin!"

Almost simultaneously, the examiners dispersed with lightning speed, encircling Yang Yu.

They had seen tools capable of reflecting magic before. Before becoming martial arts examiners, they would train in specialized rooms to learn various skills, including dealing with magic-resistant devices.

The best way to counter such devices was to spread out and attack from different angles, at different times, with a continuous bombardment of magic.

Knowing this, all the examiners used basic magic without chanting to launch their rapid attacks. Fireball Technique, Frost Ice Arrow, Wind Blade, Lightning Arrow—all sorts of magic rained down towards Yang Yu.

Yang Yu, calm and composed, simply opened his palm which tightly held the tiny White Shield and tossed it gently upwards.

The diminutive Hani doll, as though it had performed a super enlargement spell, suddenly grew in mid-air—from the size of an infant’s fist that one could hold, it swelled within a few breaths into the size of a massive building, taking up a third of the entire dueling platform.

"Hani—!"

Its pure white body, sacred and noble, with the golden scepter sparkling, and the red King’s hat imposing, its majestic aura radiated outward, repelling all the attacks and magic aimed at it.

"What in the world is this? What kind of demon is this?"

"I know! It’s a kind of demon named Hani, a new species discovered in the last two hundred years."

"Why would this new species of demon appear here? Isn’t this the All Things Library?"

As soon as the figure of the Hani King appeared, the spectator area immediately erupted into chaos.

Some were stunned into silence, some stood up from their seats ready to run away, while others grabbed their magic wands, preparing to assist in the battle.

But quickly, they realized that the Hani King that had suddenly appeared in the center of the dueling platform was actually the work of Yang Yu.

The mysterious demon from Mysterious Forest, while known to the examiners, was something they hadn’t encountered up close before.

Before they could get over their surprise, the Hani King swung its golden scepter and brutally smacked two magicians against the barrier.

The White Shields surrounding the two magicians who were struck against the wall vanished, replaced by a golden glow.

The appearance of this glow meant that the two were out of the competition.

Without waiting for the others to react, Yang Yu continued controlling the Hani King, swinging it towards another two examiners. One of them reacted in time, using the Protection Shield to dodge the attack.

Unfortunately for another examiner, he wasn’t so lucky; the Hani King’s scepter pressed him hard against the barrier, his white shield instantly shattered, revealing a brief golden glow of immunity to damage.

However, the magician was still thoroughly rattled by the Hani King’s scepter, as if he had been drinking for days and nights, staggering and unable to stand firmly.

In the end, he simply lay down wherever he fell.
