Chapter 934: Chapter 698: The Power of Shadows

"That woman is about to escape!"

Roger questioned sharply. It was impossible for him to follow Jora here without being noticed; the figure standing before Heyman was naturally the shadow of the Shadow Gate’s Avatar.

As for the other side, although a missing shadow was indeed conspicuous, if one wasn’t intentionally paying attention, there were plenty of ways to conceal it.

In reality, the other Roger was already in the underground vault. While it wasn’t the main base, it held an abundance of treasures and various Transcendent Materials.

However, Roger only gave the vault a cursory glance; his entire focus was elsewhere.

The shadow wore a black robe found at random, shrouding its surface. Roger’s form swelled, and his booming voice carried an imposing power as he spoke.

But at this moment, seeing Roger’s current behavior, Heyman, not far away, was on the verge of exploding with rage.

"You’ve truly disappointed me." Roger feigned seriousness as he spoke.

Heyman had lived for centuries and had never suffered such a loss at the hands of one person.

With the information gained from Chachi, his reasoning was sound. Given a bit more time, he would undoubtedly have convinced Jora of its veracity.

At that point, he could have taken the opportunity to indoctrinate, cajole, and coerce, likely persuading Jora to fully align with the Dragon Court.

The two had been in a deadlock for some time, primarily because Jora had the upper hand in strength. But now, with the Dragon Court’s forceful intervention, the situation had shifted.

Jora knew full well that her defeat was only a matter of time, and her chances of turning the tide were slim to none.

However, Roger’s sudden ambush on Jora had almost instantly overturned her perspective.

Heyman could already imagine how much Jora likely hated him now. Any chance for further negotiations was virtually nonexistent.

Their next encounter would undoubtedly be one of do-or-die combat.

And all of this was because of the man standing before him.

"Get out here now!"

Recalling how Roger had deceived him earlier, Heyman felt his fury boiling over. He flung his hands wide, the friction at his fingertips producing a metallic screeching sound.

The earlier exchanges between the two had merely been probes. This time, Heyman went all out, and Roger immediately sensed the vast difference.

The physical strength of this guy was beyond imagination, and the armor on his body was no ordinary equipment. More importantly, faint green halos could be seen glowing from the cracks in the armor.

But at this moment, Roger wasn’t using his actual body. With a simple sidestep, he easily evaded Heyman’s attack.

"Cowardly bastard!"

Heyman sneered, "Geralt, you can’t escape. I already have information about your world. As a Low-Tier being, you should understand your place as a weakling."

"You came here for Amanda, didn’t you?"

"Chachi’s information was detailed. The people I sent should have already reached your world. From there, they’ll trace your location step by step..."

"That Amanda’s body will be mine. You might think her soul can continue controlling Dora’s body, but in reality, the longer this drags on, the more dangerous it becomes for her!"

"Forcibly controlling a body she cannot fully command will cause severe trauma to her soul."

Behind Heyman, a golden Giant Dragon materialized, its individual Scale Armors gleaming with metallic luster.

His aura surged dramatically, and a golden Warhammer appeared out of thin air in his hands.

The hammer’s head sharpened to a pointed cone, its surface tainted with layers of dried blood.

Gripping his weapon, Heyman launched into a ferocious charge.

"If I were you, I’d surrender without a fight right now." Heyman’s mind raced, "Tell me where Jora is hiding, and I might consider granting you a swift end while sparing the relatives you have in that other world."

"Don’t let your personal mistake doom your entire world!"

The sheer killing intent of this man was overwhelming. Ever since the Hunter’s Cabin had been upgraded, Roger had never engaged in an all-out battle.

His last confrontation with Jora had started with an ambush, which didn’t fully demonstrate the capabilities of his shadow. The timing was perfect now—Roger also wanted to test his limits.

He didn’t dodge. Black Moon materialized out of thin air as Roger’s form seemed to teleport directly into Heyman’s charging path.

Clang!

The massive Warhammer collided with the slender Longsword. The force transmitted from Heyman’s body was terrifying, and Roger was sent hurtling backward, smashing through over a dozen buildings along the way.

The air filled with swirling dust. In the next instant, a furious figure came crashing from above.

Boom!

The earth quaked violently.

Already precariously standing structures were reduced to rubble by the shockwaves. Heyman stood with a ferocious grin, but Roger’s figure had already disappeared from sight.

Just then, from a nearby shadow, a flash of icy light suddenly appeared. Heyman swung his Warhammer to block in front of him.

But in the next moment, Black Moon left a fleeting afterimage at the edge of Heyman’s vision before abruptly accelerating, piercing straight through one of the gaps in his armor!

Splurt!

What seemed like a minor wound opened into a deep gash on Heyman’s body. Regaining his composure, Heyman began retreating while swinging his Warhammer wildly.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The ground nearly cracked open, the tremors radiating outward in waves. It was almost impossible to move in this area, and even flying would be affected by the shockwaves.

But by this point, having successfully executed his sneak attack, Roger had already retreated.

Looking down at the sword-wielding hand, he noticed that the shadow bore traces of fine white lines—scars from the earlier collision.

"Without a tangible physical body and relying only on Energy, the shadow isn’t suited for close-quarters combat."
