Chapter 859: Chapter 661: The Dragon’s Deal_2
Not long after Goway and her group departed, Roger also left Kaer Morhen with Amanda, returning to Baytown.
Henrik, though not accompanying them, had already promised Amanda that he would arrive early on the wedding day.
Although they had been away for a while, Baytown hadn’t changed much. Summer had arrived, the weather was getting hotter, and there were more outdoor activities.
In the town, many tourists from other cities could be seen vacationing, but Amanda had not spent money to delegate all of Adeline’s wedding preparations to outsiders.
Together with Roger, she helped Adeline take care of many tasks large and small.
Choosing a restaurant, handing out invitations, buying various gifts, and preparing all kinds of items for the wedding—Roger and Amanda were busy from morning till night, blending perfectly into the ordinary life of the small-town residents.
Of course, the only exception was...
Every evening after a busy day, Roger and Amanda would retreat to the cabin in the woods, spending the night there.
One day, Roger took some time to drive to Bordeaux. Ingmar and the others, as the first group of Demon Hunters to pass the Green Grass Trial...
After undergoing grueling training and evaluation, they returned to Bordeaux City and started spreading out from there to the surrounding areas.
Particularly in towns under Bordeaux City’s jurisdiction, challenging Transcendent incidents were easily resolved by Ingmar and his group.
This drastically reduced the frequency of Transcendent events around Bordeaux, bringing the lives of ordinary people closer to how they were before.
The wedding proceeded as planned, everything was organized and smooth. Amanda silently offered her blessings to Adeline from her seat below.
From beginning to end, she never discussed similar topics with Roger.
Their lives were already completely cleaved from that of ordinary people after entering the Transcendent World.
"Thank you, Roger." Even though Adeline knew Roger and Amanda’s current identities, what she wished to see was not two powerful Transcendents.
It was the pair of kids willing to talk with her and prepare dinner together.
After the wedding, Roger and Amanda spent two more days with Adeline before bidding each other farewell.
Adeline and Greg prepared to set out for their honeymoon, while Roger and Amanda returned to Kaer Morhen.
After some time recovering, Roger’s injuries completely healed.
Aside from some lower back strain, his body and mind were nearly in top condition.
As a Dragonborn, Amanda was far from being as delicate as she appeared. Naturally, Roger had to put in more effort physically.
"Although the memories in my mind are crystal clear, it’s strange—when it comes to the Dragonborn with bloodlines similar to mine, the place pointed to in the memories doesn’t seem to be the same."
"Someone from the guild found the location from my memory and matched it to a corresponding place in reality. We’ll start here and head to Europe."
"Then explore together."
Roger had no objections to this. With some suspicions unresolved, he couldn’t fully confide in Amanda yet.
Since someone else had a similar situation, investigating together could yield more clues.
As they were about to set off, Henrik suddenly came hurriedly over.
Dodging around the subject, Henrik spoke a few cryptic words that Amanda didn’t understand, but Roger quickly caught the hint.
"Just say it already." Roger looked helpless.
"We’ve known each other for so long; what’s there to hide?"
Henrik blinked.
"Are you sure?"
"Come on, it’s for your own good."
"I’m sure, spill it."
Roger had to confirm repeatedly.
"There’s someone waiting for you outside Kaer Morhen’s gates," Henrik said, sneaking a quick glance at Amanda.
"A woman."
"An incredibly gorgeous woman!"
Roger froze for a moment, then saw the strange expression on Henrik’s face.
To be honest, Roger believed his private life was quite disciplined. As a Demon Hunter, he had significantly brought down the average level of decadence among hunters.
"A woman?"
"What kind of woman?"
Roger straightened his posture, confident and unashamed.
"Silver hair, almost perfect features and figure. Although there’s no power emanating from her, just seeing her makes your heart involuntarily grow cold."
Henrik’s expression turned serious as he described her word by word.
Listening, Roger’s face subtly shifted.
A face emerged in his mind.
"It’s her?!"
"How could it be?"
Such a description could only remind Roger of one person.
Hillrenes, a Fifth-Tier Silver Dragon from the Western World!
"Gather everyone at the Tower of Shadows immediately!" Roger’s expression darkened.
"Quickly and discreetly... don’t stir up chaos."
Seeing Roger’s demeanor, both Henrik and Amanda became quickly aware of the gravity of the situation.
"What’s going on?"
"Who is this woman?"
Henrik was incredulous. "Did you sleep with the daughter of the Hunters Guild’s leader?"
"It’s far worse than that."
Despite wanting to kick Henrik hard enough to silence him forever, Roger quickly clarified, "If my guess is correct, the woman you’re talking about must be Hillrenes."
Roger exhaled deeply, his expression tense.
"She’s a Silver Dragon!"
"WTF?!" Henrik cursed loudly.
"You’re even messing with dragons now!"
"When was this? How did you pull that off?"
"Shut up!" Unable to hold it in anymore, Roger kicked Henrik flying.
"Handle the important stuff quickly! Whatever’s between me and her isn’t as dirty as you’re imagining!"
