Chapter 824: Chapter 644: Start Winning Without Any Effort from Today?
In the depths of Roger’s consciousness, the mark of the Quinn Sword Seal radiated a dazzling brilliance before disappearing entirely from his awareness.
"Young Demon Hunter, every small step forward is an essential part of scaling the heights. Your personal breakthrough has permanently altered certain attributes of the Hunter’s Cabin."
The notification on the bulletin board left Roger slightly stunned. He noticed that the unique emblem of the Quinn Sword Seal had now appeared within the Hunter’s Cabin.
It hovered like a sun above the cabin, fully enveloping the area radiated by it. Moreover, some mysterious changes began to circulate between the two.
Roger was unsure what exactly the so-called permanent changes entailed, but anything affecting the Hunter’s Cabin was undoubtedly of central importance.
He felt immensely fortunate that during the High Mountain Trial, he hadn’t hastily condensed the Five Great Sword Seals but had instead carefully cultivated each one to perfection.
Although the bulletin board didn’t explicitly mention it, Roger knew that what he now wielded was the power of an Extreme Path Sword Master.
Only in this state could one truly comprehend what the so-called "Extreme Path" really meant.
It was the limit of a Transcendent or cultivator’s ability to sense the Power of Rules without fusing a World Fragment.
The pinnacle of human capability.
To go any further was impossible through personal insight alone.
After all, an individual’s thoughts and experiences are inherently limited. Even if the experiences of countless others were combined, they would still remain confined by the limitations of being human.
No matter how much one understood about the world, it would still only be from a human perspective.
This was naturally insufficient.
Beyond this point, the path would revert to one of fusing World Fragments.
In the Everworld, this involved merging with unique Guardian Spirits, whereas in the Western Transcendent World, it referred to fusing World Fragments.
However, Roger hadn’t yet figured out how such a method of ascension ultimately transformed into a heritable bloodline power.
Considering the changes in the Hunter’s Cabin, he had a hunch that the next tier of ascension might reveal part of the cabin’s secrets to him.
In terms of total controllable energy, Roger wasn’t significantly stronger than before his ascension. Yet crossing this step had brought about a qualitative transformation.
The same energy, in the hands of an Extreme Path Sword Master, far surpassed that of an ordinary Sword Master or Divine Master in manipulation. It was akin to comparing a metal pellet shot from a slingshot to a bullet fired from a gun.
A difference in the level of mastery.
The core of the Quinn Sword Seal lay in the Quinn Dharma Seal, a power exclusive to the Hunter’s Cabin. The swordsmanship aspect, on the other hand, stemmed from a modified version of the Atlas inheritance combined with multiple other traditions.
These philosophies complemented each other in certain ways.
[Quinn—Earth’s Nourishment] When within the area covered by the Hunter’s Cabin, the Demon Hunter can absorb energy from the surrounding earth to enhance their physical attributes.
The process is slow, but it requires no active cultivation and can bypass bloodline bottlenecks to take permanent effect—until reaching the current stage’s limit of the Hunter’s Cabin, or the apex allowed by the Power of Rules!
"This ability... is it telling me to just kick back and win without any effort?"
He scrutinized it several times to confirm that this ability didn’t directly work on him but seemed to have become a unique trait of the Hunter’s Cabin itself.
Could this be the so-called special change?
But whether it was imbued in the Hunter’s Cabin or directly applied to his body seemed to make little difference to Roger, and he didn’t give it much thought.
What he didn’t know, however, was that this seemingly small change would produce earth-shattering effects in his future ascension.
As he had once remarked, from beginning to end, it wasn’t he himself who possessed unique abilities—it was his house.
No one could be as much of a "slave to the house" as Roger.
[Quinn—Shelter] Merging Atlas’s resilience with Quinn’s defensive prowess: when a Demon Hunter stands upon the earth, their defensive power reaches its peak. After taking an attack, a significant portion of the force can be redirected into the ground.
You yourself are the most unassailable shelter!
[Force Field Conversion] When activated, the Demon Hunter can temporarily elevate their physical strength to levels comparable to their defensive power.
Dauntless. Frenzied.
Attack with reckless fury—it’s either you or your opponent who falls!
Simple and brutal.
This was Roger’s most instinctive impression. Although the bulletin board hadn’t provided an explicit hint, that didn’t mean Roger had lost the unique rebound ability he had before.
In fact, after becoming an Extreme Path Sword Master, what Roger possessed was an integrated capability, allowing him to accomplish a wide array of feats in this domain.
That said, at the moment, the three abilities were the most powerful and could be considered the core of his powers.
Boosting his defensive power to insane levels, as long as his feet were on the ground and his strength hadn’t waned, Roger was almost impervious to harm.
Even if he sustained injuries, he would recover within an extremely short period.
Unless he encountered a peer-level opponent capable of fully countering him or someone wielding mastery over higher Power of Rules.
And through the conversion ability, he could temporarily possess physical strength so terrifying that it defied reason!
With offense and defense combined, ordinary opponents would simply be crushed underfoot.
Of course, this ability wasn’t flawless. Its manifestations were focused on the physical body and mainly utilized physical attacks.
But so what?
When strength reaches a certain level, even the simplest physical impact can wreak catastrophic devastation.
