Chapter 92: Earlobe

Chapter 92: Earlobe

Behind Martha’s house, there was a yard exclusively for her private use. Since it was situated close to the isolation wall of the house and quite far from the yards of other homes, she grew some cabbages that she liked to eat and often visited to make sure no neighbor’s dogs or anything similar would come and chew on her vegetables.

Alagina, standing behind her, took in the quiet surroundings until, only when close enough did Fisher notice a faint scent emanating from her, as refreshing as sea salt and matching the color of her hair. Clad in a form-fitting men’s suit, it was thus Fisher also saw the feminine softness at her chest, proving she was not the suave Noble Young Master, but a young lady.

"A pirate worth 7.5 million casually roaming the streets of Nali, if it were me, I would definitely consider taking your head to the Sardinian Woman Country in exchange for a lifetime of glory and riches."

Seeing that they had already walked into the courtyard, Fisher turned back to glance at Alagina, who was observing the surroundings, and teased her thus.

She turned back towards Fisher, her gaze fixed on his throat, unmoving as she explained,

"Pirates, we also take private orders... Employers pass their demands to us through information traffickers. This time the employer is quite special, but the trafficker was killed. I happened to encounter the old man outside."

"Information trafficker?"

Alagina nodded.

A murder had occurred on Karen Street, Alagina had intended to go there to find the information trafficker who was supposed to place their orders, but before she found him, she discovered he had been killed and the Nali police had already cordoned off the scene.

This also deduced that the prior unprecedented appearance of the Iceberg Queen in the Southern Ocean was to fulfill an order from an employer in Nali.

"I understand... You helped Lady Martha, and in return, I should give you something as well."

"Recompense?"

"Even though it was to complete a previous private order, as a pirate with a high bounty, you shouldn’t have come ashore personally unless there was something very important you needed to handle in person... for instance, regarding Nali’s future support for you."

Alagina’s gaze flickered a few times, then she completely shifted her gaze to Fisher’s face, observing him for a long time before she calmly stated,

"You’re not an ordinary person."

"I am a scholar, with a bit of insider information."

"..."

After a moment of silence, Alagina removed the black gloves from her hands, revealing her palms with fair skin,

"I’ve already spoken with them. Nali’s stance is that for a considerably long period into the future, they won’t provide us with conveniences, the ports will no longer be open to us, and the navy will carry out symbolic expulsions of us."

"...that’s pretty harsh."

As mentioned before, the three neighboring countries of the Northern Ocean are Schwali, the Sardinian Woman Country, and Nali. If the last country’s port strictly restricted the Iceberg Queen, it would be very difficult for them to survive in the Northern Ocean, because unlike other oceans, there is basically no suitable island for docking.

For the Nali Officials, the so-called Iceberg Queen was just a pawn easily discarded; fed when needed and kicked away when no longer useful. If it were Fisher, he would certainly be enraged and start seizing Nali’s ships.

After coming ashore and garnering more information about the Four Great Pirates, Fisher understood that the Iceberg Queen only pillaged Schwali’s possessions and seldom endangered lives; the ships they robbed generally returned with a full crew, thereby bringing so many messages to Schwali.

"They gave me a choice, I could abandon the ship and my partners onboard, and they would offer me political asylum."

However, Fisher shook his head internally. For the New Party, political asylum was nonsense; they just wanted to temporarily hold the Iceberg Queen as a playing card to use for attack and defense. If the relationship was good, they would hand over the Iceberg Queen and take it to the next level; if not, they would release the Iceberg Queen and continue to rob and plunder at sea.

"You refused them."

Alagina’s expression rarely changed, but at this moment, her sapphire-like eyes revealed an obvious determination. Seeing her eyes as clear as the sky, Fisher suddenly remembered that he still had a necklace in his arms that Lingna had stolen from her, which he should also return to her.

"I killed a Feudal King of the Sardinian Woman Country, and from then on, I fled to the sea with the sisters who rebelled with me that night."

The Sardinian Woman Country practiced a feudal system, with many Feudal Kingdoms guarding the center apart from the Great Queen who resided in the center. Feudal Kings were mostly descendants of meritorious officials or royal relatives, responsible for protecting the Great Queen and offering tributes to the center.

"That woman was my mother; she insulted my father, causing him to die with grievances. The rebellion was my personal vendetta, and my sisters and friends were forced to flee to the sea because of it, unable to go ashore to this day. Now it’s my turn to make a decision, and I cannot abandon them either."

Her face, as noble as a noble’s, had never changed in expression, but Fisher could always hear the endless emotions from her steady sentences.

It turns out she was a descendant of a Feudal King from the Sardinian Woman Country, no wonder her demeanor appeared so different from a pirate’s.

The sun in the sky slightly set, and from nowhere a breeze blew, lifting some of the lady’s white hair, and through the raised white hair, Fisher caught a glimpse of her delicate earlobe.

Contrary to her pearly calm complexion, that delicate and crystalline earlobe was tinged with a visible pink hue, looking as delicious as the finest cherry.

Fisher was slightly startled, and in the next moment, the white hair fell back down, covering the earlobe that was like a flaw, leaving only the serene and cold Alagina.

"I see, I understand now..." Fisher sighed, reaching into his chest and clutching the cold necklace, "I mentioned before that I am a scholar, currently studying demi-humans... A month ago, just after you left our ship, I captured a demi-human from the ocean."

"Demi-human?"

Alagina slightly tilted her head, chewing over the noun in Fisher’s words.

"Ah, she said she had stolen an item from a lady on a nearby ship, and she returned the item to me, not knowing if it was the valuable item you were looking for."

He took out the blue necklace, and Alagina recognized at first glance that the necklace in Fisher’s hand was the one she had lost.

Her deep blue eyes, like the gemstone inlaid on the necklace, flickered momentarily, but then she looked past the necklace held by Fisher and directly at Fisher.

The next moment, she suddenly reached out, her pale hand gently pressing on Fisher’s chest, abruptly pushing him against the wall in the nearby courtyard. Just as Fisher furrowed his brow intending to speak, she outrageously bowed her head and looked at Fisher, saying,

"Just now... the lady I escorted back was very talkative, she shared a lot with me, about her outstanding children..."

Her words got to this point, and Fisher’s body tensed up slightly, because he suddenly remembered the last excuse he used to avoid this person was that he and Renie had already married, but Martha knew his real situation; she liked to market her 28-year-old handsome and still-single Fisher to whomever she met.

Could it be, she unfortunately told Alagina?

Alagina slightly bowed her head, preventing Fisher from seeing her beautiful face clearly, allowing only her slightly cold breath to hit his neck, and her calm, soft voice to reach him,

"She said, you are not married yet, and that you’re longing for a child?"
