Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 475 - 33. Attempt_2

Chapter 475: 33. Attempt_2

Fisher didn’t watch Ossie eating; at the moment, he was like a keg of gunpowder that only needed the slightest spark to ignite. Deciding to take action, he stood up and walked toward the en suite bathroom. In front of the mirror, he scooped up some water and splashed it on his face. Only when the cold droplets fell from his now considerably stubbled cheeks did his mind begin to calm down.

At that moment, he suddenly understood the meaning behind Elliog’s words.

The Demi-human Girls Completion Manual had granted him abilities far beyond those of ordinary humans, whether it was Constitution or reproductive ability. These gifts were not conferred based on human thinking; overreliance on human cognition could lead to the current discomforts he experienced. Hence, Elliog had suggested abandoning human ways of life to better adapt to his body.

But Fisher faintly perceived a problem—if he were to completely abandon human modes of thought to adapt to the changes in his body, would that truly be feasible?

This issue might not seem so pressing when confined to the augmentations from the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, but what if it were to involve the Soul Completion Manual, the Life Completion Manual, or other unknown Completion Manuals?

In front of the mirror, he gently extended his hand. As the Magic Circuit lit up, influenced by the Soul Completion Manual and undergoing transformation, it posed that very question to Fisher.

The actions of Philone and Erwin now seemed so terrifying, in defiance of all existing moral and ethical orders. Did they become mad right from the start, or had they forsaken human values since birth?

Fisher did not know the answer to this question, nor was he clear on how to resolve the contradictions inherent in the Completion Manuals.

He simply took out his Fluid Sword and shaped it into to a razor, slowly removing the bristly stubble sprouting on his face. As his gaze moved with the vanishing hairs, his mind also became more tranquil, as if the person ensnared by desires just moments ago wasn’t him.

"Sigh..."

He let out a long breath, then stepped out of the bathroom after setting down the Fluid Sword and washing his face with cold water. His shaving had taken neither too long nor too short, just enough time for Ossie to finish the eel rice bought from downstairs.

Having eaten her fill, she wrapped her arms around the somewhat deficient-looking parrot Steel Blade, once again sitting on the soft bed. Her mood seemed improved, legs swinging slightly off the edge of the bed—an entirely different state from before her meal.

"Fisher..."

"Mm, let’s start the research."

Ossie turned her head to glance at Fisher, not sure what she was looking at, until after several seconds she nodded, shifting a bit closer on the bed. Then she consciously untied her cloak, and as the usually heavy cloak fell from her body, the image of Ossie in a sailor suit was revealed to Fisher for the first time.

Inside, Ossie wore a breathable outfit, donning a sailor suit not of the kind worn by other Iceberg Queen crew members, but seemingly another variant from the Sardinia Female Country. It featured shorter sleeves than usual to allow her to extend her wings more freely.

Below, she wore a pair of shorts. Unlike Rafael, whose Dragon Scales started below his knees, Ossie’s thighs were already covered with soft, fluffy cyan feathers. Further down, her legs were concealed by boots that almost reached her knees.

"Fisher... can I hold onto the Steel Blade?"

Fisher, still scrutinizing Ossie, was interrupted by her request. He looked up to see her silently holding up the plump parrot, her gaze fixed on him as she spoke.

Fisher knew at a glance that she was nervous at this point; any demi-human lady would show such signs when being studied, to a greater or lesser degree. Not to mention them, if one day Fisher heard some strange demi-human wanted to research him, he’d probably feel uneasy, too.

"Of course you can... and, could you take off your boots? I’d like to take a look at the structure of your legs."

She clutched the Steel Blade to her chest again, offering no reply. It was the Steel Blade that spoke,

"Can do... can do..."

"Thank you."

Fisher smiled faintly, loosening the straps on her boots, and as they came off, he realized that the boots must have been specially designed for her, since there was a structure inside to secure her claws.

Ossie’s feet were somewhat similar to an eagle’s, much slenderer than a human’s, so ordinary boot designs were far too large for her. Specially tailored molds for her feet were made inside, so she could wear shoes shaped for humans properly.

As soon as Fisher had slipped off her boots, her ordinarily splayed feet suddenly curled up a little, as if subconsciously grasping at something. If one overlooked the sharp claws, they would actually seem quite cute.

"By the way, you mentioned earlier that you grew up in the training of the Hammond family since you were small, so did you grow up with Alagina?"

In order to alleviate her tension, Fisher began recording her physical characteristics on paper and started a conversation to inquire about her situation.

Ossie, holding the Steel Blade, gently stroked its tiny head with her own feathers, nodded, and said,

"Yes, my mother was her mother’s guard, so I was brought to her side when I was very young... But actually, I seldom interacted with her as a child; I spent most of my time in training. Occasionally, when I visited her, I would see her with her father, a very gentle uncle..."

"After her father died and my mother lost her life in battle, our connection became closer. She had few people to trust, and I was one of the few. Because of her mother’s scrutiny, many things were handled by me; I always acted as her guard..."

"I never had any real goals; her goals have always been my goals. But since leaving the Sardinia Female Country, Alagina seems to have lost her purpose, and that’s made me feel superfluous... Maybe that’s why I’ve never been able to integrate with them? I don’t know..."

Fisher continued recording her data without pause, not even lifting his head as he responded,

"To have no goals at all is a bit too unrealistic... Even Alagina now has her own goals. She wants to provide a good ending and life for sisters like you who have sworn to follow her to the death. And you are no exception, you have your own goals too, like finding your father, building good relationships with the crew..."

"Any thought, any desire, they are actually your goals. Think it and achieve it, accomplish it one by one, and before you know it, you’ve completed something truly remarkable... So, Ossie, aside from wanting to forge good relations with the crew and finding your father, what else do you want to do?"

What else do I want to do...?

Ossie lifted the Steel Blade that was in her embrace, looked deeply at it, only to find it was cocking its head towards Fisher beside her, so she turned her head to look at Fisher as well.

After staring at his profile in silence for a while, she placed the Steel Blade back in her embrace and said,

"Just... if only to think about it for a moment, then... could I... just for today... secretly try to have a romantic talk with you...? I want to experience the feeling Alagina has experienced... because she was happy, and I... want to try it too."

A tremor ran through the nib of Fisher’s fountain pen, and with it, a stiff Trace was dragged out onto the edge of the paper.

He looked up gently, his gaze meeting the stationary form of Ossie on the bed, casting an odd hue over the atmosphere in the room.
