Chapter 462: 27. Rafael’s Phone (Two-in-One)

As Fisher was about to leave the Southern Ocean and enter the East Ocean, the central South Continent in the middle of the Southern Ocean was far from calm; on the contrary, the atmosphere there could be described as overly bustling.

Since humans from the Western Continent had entered the South Continent, they had been crazily seizing the endless vast resources of the South Continent.

However, after all, a continent so large had many issues on the Western Continent itself that were not completely resolved, leaving mostly private businessmen to come over. Relying solely on those numbers and capabilities, of course, it was not possible to fully occupy the South Continent; otherwise, those humans wouldn’t need to go through such great trouble to build cities in the wilderness to encircle themselves.

But overall, the trend indicated that the tentacles of human expansion were still greedily stretching outwards.

Previously, the expulsion of the Dragon-man of the South Branch Tribe of the South Continent was seen as a milestone achievement in their eyes, but no one would have imagined that this would be the first shovel digging their own graves.

The eastern coast of the South Continent had always been surrounded by dense, primitive forests, and the overall area was too vast. The magical creatures and demi-human settlements living there became very complex, and it was these natural advantages and geographical conditions that blocked the claws of human expansion, allowing the leading Eastern Branch Tribe of the Dragon-man Species among them to live quite comfortably.

But what no one had expected was that instead of humans coming first, it was their own kin who paid a visit first – and these kinsmen were even more deadly than the humans.

Because their leader was a Dragon-man with red scales.

"Boom!"

"How much longer until Lord Raphael arrives?!"

In the dense jungle, Fasher, adorned with white dragon scales, crouched behind a giant tree, holding a long spear in her hand, her scales blackened from the recent battle.

The ground of the forest kept trembling, and the fierce sound of artillery fire would send many of the charging South Branch Dragon-men flying with each strong shockwave.

The physical strength of the Dragon-men was strong, and although both sides were far fewer than humans, their war appeared quite spectacular—once the two tribe factions engaged, it was as if they were decorating the forest.

"I don’t know! Lar said there were ambushes from the East Branch in the south, so she went to deal with those first—we need to hold on a little longer!"

Kexier’s white hair stood out prominently with a thick, luminous Dragon Horn amidst it; last month, both Kexier and Fasher had come of age and grown the horns that symbolized a Dragon-man’s capacity.

"Those damned guys, they actually started doing business with humans and bought so many muskets!"

Taking advantage of the fact that humans couldn’t temporarily enter the primitive forest, the Eastern Branch Dragon People initiated contact with them, exchanging forest resources for a considerable number of weapons and artifacts.

The West Branch Tribe had already fallen under the claws of the Red Dragon, the Clan Leader was killed by Raphael, and the entire tribe had become part of the South Branch. Her original plan was to head north to attack the Northern Branch Tribe, but hearing that the East Branch had sought help from humans after learning about Rafael’s actions, she changed course and came straight for them.

At that moment, just as Fasher thought of peeking out, the tree beside her immediately burst with a bullet hole, sending wood chips flying past her skin, marking her with a few drops of burning hot blood. Gritting her teeth, she pulled out a piece of cloth, enchanted with Dragon-man Magic given to her by Raphael, and wrapped it around her long spear, then aimed at the Eastern Branch Dragon People who were continuously firing from afar.

"Kexier! Follow me!"

Kexier and Fasher, the twin sisters, had a perfect understanding of each other, and seeing the magic-wrapped spear in her hand, Kexier already knew what to do and flicked her tail to spring out from behind the bushes, her pair of curved blades deflecting the bullets like a whirlwind. Amid the tinkling sounds, Fasher narrowed her eyes and thrust her spear towards the gathering place of the Eastern Branch Tribe.

"Boom!"

A massive amount of Flames surged in the air like a giant serpent, opening its merciless maw and devouring all the trees and living creatures in its vicinity.

"We did it! Let’s move forward!"

"Sister Fasher! Sister Kexier!"

Just as Fasher landed from the air with a joyful expression, a call came from the bushes behind her.

Both turned their heads only to see a taller blue-scaled Dragon-man appearing in the shrubs, wearing a cracked monocle and carrying a tooth-shaped short dagger at her waist. Smiling and excitedly waving at them, she tiptoed towards Fasher.

The Dragon-man who had grown half a head taller wasn’t Lar—who else could it be?

"What happened? Why did you come back from Lord Raphael, did something go wrong?"

"Nothing’s wrong! Lord Raphael has already reached the Gate of the Eastern Branch Tribe, she wants you to delay the attack!"

"Huh?!"

Fasher and Kexier exchanged a glance; they both had brought the main forces of the South Branch for a frontal assault, and now that Raphael had already reached their opponents’ doorstep, it seemed they had become a diversion.

"Rumble!!"

In the distance, the sound of thunderous rumbling suddenly erupted, causing everyone present to shiver. Fasher looked incredulously into the distance only to see giant trees falling one after another, with steam rising like Flames into the sky, as if a train was rampaging through the jungle.
