Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 455 - 21. Philis

Chapter 455: 21. Philis

"Yin Yang Inversion" and "Dragon Court Family?"

Fisher first noticed these two rather special labels belonging to the Lion-man Species, and he opened the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual with some curiosity to see the explanations for these labels.

"Yin Yang Inversion: They possess gender characteristics opposite to those of other natural beings."

"Included races: Lion-man Species, Troll Species, Seahorse Species, Chaos Species."

Chaos Species?

He hadn’t expected the Chaos Species to also fall under the category of "Yin Yang Inversion."

To be honest, Fisher’s knowledge about the Chaos Species was somewhat too general, which had piqued his curiosity about these Demi-humans from the Spirit Realm, but as Emhardt had said, as a being of Mythical Rank, he should wait until he obtained more enhancements before he could study them.

His gaze then shifted downward to the explanation of the Dragon Court Family,

"Dragon Court Family: They were once the most loyal paws of the Dragon God Fermat Baha, taking Dragon-men as the spiritual banner and guarding the Dragon Court under the protection of giant dragon wings generation after generation."

"Included races: Lion-man Species, Brain Demon Species, Bat Species, Bear-man Species, Elephant-man Species."

It seemed similar to the recently unlocked "Snow Mountain Clan," and as Fisher had guessed, it was indeed under the races of "Royal Choice" that the Clan Series existed. The Dragon-man Species and Phoenix Species had been unlocked, so logically, the Whale-man Species, Demon Species, and Chaos Species should also have their respective Clans.

These races were scattered in different locations in the Southern Continent, similar to the Snow Mountain Clan, just as the author of the Soul Completion Manual, Caleb Wuz, had said, the Dragon Court was an incredibly large constitution that covered the entire Southern Continent like the mighty wings of a giant dragon...

Maybe if he had the chance, he would go back to the Southern Continent to collect some of these Clans, but clearly not now.

He stretched out his body, which had become somewhat stiff with pain, then turned his head to look at Philis, the Lion-man who was hiding behind Valentina’s wheelchair, and gestured to her with a beckoning hand,

"Do you want to do this here, or in a more concealed place? It’s all up to you."

"Concealed? Hey, what are you Humans up to?"

"Research."

Fisher walked towards her with a pen and paper in hand, making Philis’ ears twitch and swallow a mouthful of saliva.

Suddenly, she had an ominous feeling, wondering if this guy intended to scribble on her body with the pen.

Philis had not brought her firearm or her immense straight blade; she couldn’t beat Fisher even with weapons on her, let alone now.

Watching her tail sweep back and forth in the sand behind her, Fisher was momentarily caught between laughter and tears. Sometimes he couldn’t help thinking that if all Demi-human research subjects were like Elliog, there would be much less trouble; he wouldn’t need to do anything, just ask and get an answer.

"Philis, I’m here."

Valentina, unable to move her body in the wheelchair, could only begin to comfort her.

Hearing her boss say that, Philis bit her lip and, after glaring at Fisher, crossed her arms over her chest and lay down on the sand, closing her eyes and shouting at Fisher,

"Let’s just do it here, get on with it!"

Valentina pushed her wheelchair back a bit, watching Fisher slowly approach Philis and sit down beside her.

Looking at the research sample in front of him, his gaze became focused, and the pen in his hand served as a measuring device, roughly estimating the height and data of Philis, the adult female of the Lion-man Species.

Valentina wasn’t looking at Philis; instead, she was observing this strange Magician-Mage Nali person. At that moment, his gaze was focused, as meticulous as if he were about to engrave a spell...

For a Mage, this metaphor was quite appropriate, equating the study of Demi-humans with Magic made the study of Demi-humans no longer seem like a pretext of an excuse.

"Where is your hometown in the Southern Continent?"

As he sketched a rough outline of a female Lion-man Species in his notebook, Fisher gently took hold of her tail, which was topped with fluffy, dark brown fur, and after confirming the specific texture, he asked her this.

Lying on the sand, Philis opened one eye a bit blushingly at him and gently withdrew her tail from his grip,

"Hah, are you taking a census?"

"The research is about the Lion-man Species, not about you; you are just my window to the Lion-man Species."

After hearing this, Philis opened both eyes simultaneously, glanced at Fisher, then shifted her gaze away to the sea,

"On the west coast of the Southern Continent, in the Kokosima Grassland of the Lion-man Tribe. Before the Humans came, I lived there all the time, snatching things east and west with my sisters, so it was retribution when we were robbed by more formidable bandits."

"Western shore, huh... What happened after that?"

Among the Southern Continent’s demi-human species, the distribution is quite diverse. Aside from a few races, one can find many different demi-humans living together mixed in any region. This probably indicates that they have been cohabiting in such a manner at least since the Dragon Court Period, which corresponds to how the Dragon Court managed other races.

"Hmph, the Lion-man race believes in claws and strength, for these are needed to snatch good things... But ever since West Continent people entered the South Continent, I realized that humans don’t believe in claws; they believe in money. They don’t care who gives the money, as long as they have money, life is good wherever they are, so I changed my profession."

She lay on the ground, made a hand pistol gesture with her fingers, aimed it at the sea, and then said,

"Clearly priced mercenaries, that’s what you humans call me... But lately, business in the South Continent has been tough, and it’s no good in the Western Continent either. I could only go to the Northern Realm to scrape a living, and then I met my boss."

While she talked, Fisher jotted down the Lion-man species biological knowledge he had learned. Anyway, he had already written down what she said, and he could supplement the societal information later.

After letting her talk some more about the traditions of the Lion-man Tribe, Fisher began to ascertain the physical strength of the Lion-man species.

Actually, according to Little Jack’s research papers, the Lion-man species’ constitution is exaggerated but not to the point of reaching the Extraordinary Rank. However, Philis was different.

During the previous battle, Fisher felt that her strength and agility were far superior to ordinary Lion-man, and she also used weapons and firearms. Her Rank should be around 5-6, sufficient to deal with most troubles. After all, the magics used by Helldor and Valentina were mostly between the 6th and 8th circles. No wonder she was hired as a bodyguard.

Little Jack had previously recorded in detail many of the less dangerous demi-human species of the Southern Continent, and his research was very thorough. He would even combine descriptions from the local humans to add details that West Continent people might not know, like the Southern Continent humans’ saying about "a woman’s jealousy," which was recorded by Little Jack.

Sadly, Little Jack only visited the South Continent once. After bringing Karma and the others back to the Western Continent, he died not long thereafter.

Valentina sat in her wheelchair next to him, watching Fisher’s increasingly voluminous research notes, then glanced at Philis, who was lying on the ground looking very peaceful.

At that moment, Philis’s face was tinged with red, and her eyes were fixated on the sky. Then she covertly glanced at Fisher and suddenly spoke up,

"Hey, now... it’s already October, deep autumn."

Valentina did not understand what she meant, but when Fisher heard it, he promptly withdrew his hand, which was confirming her physical strength, and casually apologized.

As mentioned before, the Lion-man race has three seasons of reproduction within a year, with the remaining one being winter. Then there are two reproduction peaks, one in deep autumn and one in early spring. And now, it was precisely deep autumn.

So, Philis had just warned Fisher that if he continued to touch, she would be compelled to attack.

"Of course, we wouldn’t just randomly steal male Lion-men in our tribe, what are you thinking? That only happens when two Lion-man tribes go to war, and even then, many times we only steal a bit of food or something... Food, mineral crafts, and good-looking clothes are what we actually like."

In the next hour, Fisher clarified her physical condition and her background. It goes without saying, and he should thank Valentina for hiring her because the research process was similar to that of Elliog. As long as she didn’t resist, the research progressed rapidly, and though the societal research was still a bit behind, the biological research had already reached the important milestone of 20%.

[Lion-man Species Biological Research Progress: 22%]

[Lion-man Species Societal Research Progress: 17%]

[20% Research Phase Reward: Constitution +3, Reproductive Power +1, Endurance +1]

Fisher looked at the all-too-familiar bonus points with a face full of dismay, thinking that at this rate, he would truly become what Emhardt called a "Mythical Reproduction Rank."

By the side, Valentina, who had watched Fisher meticulously record the features of the Lion-man species from start to finish, now truly believed that Fisher was a scholar interested in demi-human species.

This Nali person knew magic and had a certain level of research on demi-humans. If she joined her own team, it would definitely be of great help in the search for the Wutong Tree of the Phoenix Species...

Thinking of this, she once again turned to Fisher to extend her invitation,

"Are you sure you won’t consider joining my team? We will search for the Six Clans’ Mark to try to open the Wutong Tree. When that time comes, even if you know the entrance to the Wutong Tree, you won’t be able to enter it. Teaming up with us is the wisest choice."

Fisher had already made up his mind and shook his head, but gave Valentina a glance and joked,

"Sorry, if you were a demi-human, maybe I’d consider it."

"...That’s a shame. But I still want to ask, do you really like demi-humans that much, Mr. Nali Gentleman?"

Valentina, with her arms crossed, was rendered speechless by Fisher’s words. She sighed, rubbed her forehead, and said,

Fisher looked at her, unaware of any change in expression due to his words, and since he gained nothing from her beautiful yet helpless look, he casually replied,

"It’s alright, I can’t say that I like them too much."

Valentina wanted to say more but stopped herself when she observed the book on his shoulder making faces at her as if to intimidate her, blocking the words she intended to say.

After pausing for a moment, she looked toward Philis, who was also lying on the beach and watching her, and spoke,

"Well, alright then, I won’t insist. We are about to leave here and return to the Northern Realm. It was a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Fisher Benavides from Nali."

"It was a pleasure for me too, Miss Valentina Turand from the Northern Realm."
