Chapter 390: 155. Another Easter Egg (Two in One)_2

"Now the sovereignty over the oceans by various countries is quite ambiguous, so some of the shipping routes will not deviate too far from the mainland of Saint Nali. We need to change our direction and sail southeast to reach a Schwali outbound shipping lane. Along that lane, we might have a chance to run into a Schwali merchant ship returning from the South Continent... Of course, we might also run into pirates. But even if we don’t encounter any ships, it doesn’t matter, since there are several islands from this position where we can dock, equipped with Schwali supply stations..."

Old Jack glanced at the vast surrounding sea, then back at Fisher, who continued to draw conclusions while altering course, clearly unclear how Fisher was arriving at his conclusions.

"...As long as you are confident, that’s good. It wouldn’t be fun to die at sea."

Fisher smiled, pointed to his head, and said,

"I studied naval charts in the ’Military Geography’ course at the Royal College’s military academy... I won’t take the wrong route."

But as he spoke, the confidence on his face slowly faded because at that moment, he suddenly remembered the only reason he had read that book was because Elizabeth needed to be tested on that subject in her military finals.

He had already finished studying for his own exam and had nothing else to do, but to accompany Elizabeth in the library, Fisher also borrowed a book to read with her, incidentally remembering the content for her exam so that he could help her with anything she didn’t understand.

Little did Fisher expect, the knowledge he learned just to accompany Elizabeth would now be used in an attempt to escape from her, a twist of fate that could not go unmentioned...

Setting aside his thoughts momentarily, Fisher actually wasn’t worried about whether or not his group could disembark, because the ship’s speed was surprisingly fast without a steam engine or other propulsion.

This wooden ship should be like the scythe in Raya’s hands, also one of the treasures cherished by these two servant demon ladies.

Food could be caught in the sea, drinking water could be produced by using magic to filter the sea water, they just needed to sail for about a day and a night to reach Schwali’s route... Fisher wasn’t exactly sure about the timing because he couldn’t estimate the current speed.

What truly preoccupied Fisher now wasn’t how to safely land, but rather what to do once ashore.

He took Raya’s spot at the bow of the ship and simultaneously looked towards the two ladies sitting at the stern.

Isabella looked as if she had been greatly shocked, her pale face saying nothing and just hugging her knees, like a hedgehog raising its spikes, barely speaking even to her old friend Moli who was beside her.

And Moli, after glancing at Isabella, turned her head back to gaze at the vast ocean beside her, lost in thought about something.

But when she noticed Fisher looking at her, she turned her head again towards Fisher and forced a weak smile, the curvature of that smile faint, not hiding the deep blackness in her eyes.

Fisher quietly averted his gaze, sat back and leaned at the front of the ship, casually pulling the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual from his pocket, but this time he didn’t rush to open it, instead staring silently at the book’s title for a long time.

Amidst the many events in Saint Nali, Fisher had caught his first glimpse of the Truth behind Philone and Erwin’s mysterious organization, the Creation Society.

First, to sort out the basic clues of this organization, its exact members are unknown, but the number should not be many, because according to Erwin, fights inevitably break out once Completion Manual owners get near each other, hence members must clearly demarcate their operational territories to avoid losses.

More likely, the territorial divides could be one state per member, or even broader still, allowing one continent per member.

Furthermore, this organization’s structure is very loose, barely binding its members, such as even upon Philone getting killed by Fisher, they still invited him to rejoin without holding any grudges.

To Fisher, it seemed they didn’t care who possessed the manuals, but were instead concerned if that person could access the knowledge within...

Fisher frowned, then pulled out another book, the Soul Completion Manual, and glanced sideways at Emhardt who still lay beside him, looking like a salted fish.

Ironically, Book Knight wanted to read the contents of these two Completion Manuals, but Fisher discovered that even he could only sense their presence vaguely on himself; now that Fisher openly displayed them, Emhardt still didn’t seem to notice or see their true forms.

Besides the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, each Completion Manual contained a deeply arcane knowledge, themed around a specific topic: Philone was "Soul Lord," thus he possessed the Soul Completion Manual, suggesting Erwin should own a "Life Completion Manual."

The members of the Creation Society were likely chasing the knowledge contained within, convinced that this knowledge could lead them to the Truth of the other side, and so every member madly pursued its contents with that goal in mind...

Yet, having read the Soul Completion Manual, Fisher had found the knowledge within to contain a terrifying lure, like a taboo unbearable to humans, making it far too easy to veer into extremes of madness during the pursuit of this knowledge—a fact the Creation Society must be well aware of, otherwise they would have long shared this knowledge among themselves.
